I have only just started using Firefox but I've noticed a strange "feature" (I'm not sure if it's a feature or a bug, thus the quotes). I'm used to Opera and IE where by when I double click some text the text will be automatically selected. Firefox does something like this but for some reason I don't yet understand it adds an extra space at the beginning or end of the selection. This is a problem for someone like me who for work does a lot of copy and paste. I use web software that is intolerant of extra spaces and this feature/bug is going to end up causing some major issues. Is there a way to alter this behavior so that it behaves more like all my other computer programs? Your help is greatly appreciated.

I'm very disappointed (and angry) by the fact that this bug has been dragged from one version to the next version for years already. Just google a bit and you will see that it is an ever going sad story.

Questions, complaints, how-to's etc... year after year, always for the same issue ! How many people have become frustrated like me ?

I'm sure not the only user to be redirected from one possible solution to another possible solution. If that does not work, try this and that... and so on. I went from one "solution" to the next, and wasted hours, just to bump into this recurring stupid message, over and over again.

So my question goes directly to the developers : Why do we (users) have to care about fixing a problem that in the first place should not even exist ? Why does this problem remains for years without cure ?

Sorry guys, it is not the responsibility of the users to try all sorts of tricks. Just fix this thing please. What is actually my problem ? Very simple answer : Firefox

Well...I was getting a lot of those message about "page not loading"...so I thought I would try resetting Firefox to its default state.

But I'm now having other issues that were not occurring before...so I'm wondering if I could go back to BEFORE I reset it...it might clear up.

Two examples:

One - Before when I would "Sign Out" of Hotmail...it would go back to MSN.COM.

But now...it goes back to NOTHING...just a blank page...like it got stuck on the way.

TWO - In Facebook...all of a sudden I can't play Scrabble anymore. The board comes up but it won't give me any of the games I was already playing.

When I reset it...a folder was put on my desktop called "Old Firefox Data".

Is there anything I can do to take it back to how it was BEFORE I reset it...hoping it might fix these problems?

I have done everything your web site says to do to uninstall Firefox. Nothing works. Windows message says no Mozilla Firefox uninstall program on my computer. Do I need a special download from you to uninstall?

Ok, so I have lost out on some downloads, that were rather large, because I closed firefox.

When I used to close firefox, my download would still keep going. The firefox icon at the bottom of the screen on the taskbar, would show a translucent green download indicator. I could even click on it to check the progress with more detail.

Why on earth would this be changed, to totally cancel downloads when shutting firefox? Is there a way to stop this? I want the behavior of.. Close firefox, download is still going.

My iMac is OS X 10.8.2 - Installed flip4mac v-3.0.0.126 on Safari today Suddenly flip4Mac v-2.5.0.1 appeared on Firefox on same computer - then I read that version does not exist & is malware - have trouble watching European livestreams now - mostly Europe

Tried accessing Mozilla Support Forums for Firefox Desktop Support, which I have used many times. It would not accept my username and password, claiming they were incorrect. I tried the Password Reset feature, which opened a window saying that accounts created before December 2010 may have issues logging in. Please reset your password below. It instructs me to enter my email address so that it can send me instructions for setting a new password. I enter my email address. It says we've sent an email to any account using this address. Please follow the link in the email to reset your password. I go to my email. Nothing is there. I wait, but still nothing.

I go back to the sign in page, and click on the link - I didn't get a confirmation email - under Login Problems. A new window opens which tells me that to activate my account I must first confirm my email address. I reenter my email address. I get an email from Mozilla right away, telling me that my account is already activated, and it gives me a link to log in. I click on that link. I enter my username and password again. Same error message denying me access and telling me to enter a correct username and password. I try this a couple more times with no success. Same repeating errors.

So I try to create a NEW account using a different username with my email address. It will not let me do that. It says that email address is already taken, and it will not allow me to proceed. I ultimately had to set up a new account with an email address that I never use, just so I could access the Help features. I am exasperated. I do not want to post my Questions using an email address that I do not use, and have to open another application to even access. I want to be able to receive a message from Mozilla in my normal everyday email address, if someone has replied to my post. But since Mozilla will not let me use my existing email address for the new account I set up, I cannot do that.

This is very frustrating. Mozilla will not allow me access to my original user account that was already set up with my preferred email address. And Mozilla won't let me create a new user account with my preferred email address. Now I am stuck with a new user account that is linked to an email address that I never use and which is not easily accessible to me. As a last resort, I access my new user account in hopes that it will allow me to change the email address that is linked to the account, but of course, that is not an option.

Can someone please help me to access my original account with my original username and password? If a password reset is necessary, then I should not be getting a reply email telling me my account is already activated (see below). If it is activated, then why can't I log in? What is going on? Please help me. Thank you.
