I keep getting the message "Although this page is encrypted, the information you have entered is to be sent over an unencrypted connection and could easily be read by a third party". I have unchecked all the boxes in the Tools>Options>Security>Settings. They weren't checked to begin with. In fact, if I select the "I'm about to view an encrypted page that contains some unencrypted information" option I get a dialog box that looks completely different and is worded "You have requested an encrypted page that contains some unencrypted information. Information that you see or enter on this page could easily be read by a third party." When I click continue I get the the original message too! What is going on and how do I fix it?

I can still open my homepage (Google), and the browser will find things from there, but that's the only way that I can navigate around. I downloaded and reinstalled the latest version of Firefox, but it still opens with the same problem, even after restarting the computer. The only tool bar that I have at the top is the one with my tabbed bookmarks.

How can I set Firefox to auto refresh a tab? Is it possible? It is a forum web page that is not auto refreshing by itself so auto refreshing would be nice since every few seconds someone posts something new.

I'm having problems with just some websites. They begin to load normally but never complete. So I can often see all or part of the page, but can't interact - e.g. I can get into an e-mail program (e.g. Yahoo) and maybe open an e-mail, but I'm unable to reply to it. Or only part of the page loads and then hangs. Or sometimes none of the page loads it just hangs for a half hour showing a white screen. Other sites load fully and normally.

This has happened with Yahoo Mail, Ebay, Hotmail and some other sites.

Firefox is very slow loading web pages. Was OK with the old version. This happened after I downloaded latest upgraded version 3.6.8

firefox has been working great all of a sudden pages are taking longer and longer to load and unable to load search engines,in firefox or explorer. search engines work fine on second computer.

When I open a new tab it opens a Bing search window instead of a blank page like it used to. When FF starts it opens a blank page like it should, but if I click on the + to the right of the current tab is when the Bing tabs open. It's just a Bing search window not the Bing homepage. If needed I can submit a screenshot of the new page. I use 2 addons affecting tabs. Multiple Tab Handler, and Colorful Tabs. I think SlimBrowser is an IE based browser. I use Win pro 64 bi on a HP laptop and FF 3.6.8 I've never had this problem all the years I used FF until now Any Ideas? Thanks Floyd

Hello. to start with im not really up on the ins and outs of ff, ive used it for a while but not really tinkered with till this problem

Im running Vista (no comments on that please :p) and the latest version of as downloaded from the mozilla website (3.6 something)

my plug-ins are (version number): 2007 MS Office system (12.0.4518.1014), Bio3D (12.0.0.733) - this comes with ChemDraw i think, ChemDraw (12.0.0.733), getPlusPlus for Adobe 16287 (1.6.2.87), Java Deployment Toolkit (6.0.210.6), Java(TM) Platform SE 6 U21 (6.0.210.6), MS Office Live Plug-in for FF (2.0.4024.1), MS (R) WMP FF plug-in (1.0.0.8), Mozilla Default Plug-in (1.0.0.15), Novell iPrint Plug-in (5.3.0.0), Novell iPrint Scriptable Plug-in 1.0 (5.3.0.0), Quicktime P-in (7.6.6.0), Shockwave Flash (10.1.53.64), Silverlight P-in (4.0.50524.0), Windows Presentation Foundation (3.5.30729.1). Ive been on numerous fix-it sites but cant find a solution i understand or can get to work. the problem still occurs in safe mode and with only shockwave flash enabled (this seems to be the issue) and after numerous reinstalls, i have also deleted all i can find of adobe and shockwave then reinstalled to no avail :(

I've started getting the message below any time I try to use add-ons or plug-ins such as Google toolbar and Yoono.

A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete. Script: file:///C:/Program%20Files/Mozilla%20Firefox/components/nsExtensionManager.js:623

Neither the "cancel" nor the "stop script" button will make the warning box go away. Nothing but a reboot will. And any time I try to go to Tools-Add-ins, or use any Add-ins, the box comes back and I'm locked up again.

Rebooting does not solve the problem, and oddly, reinstalling Firefox does not solve the problem. I also opened Firefox in SAFE mode, and I still get the exact same problem.

I had just updated Firefox, I opened up Google, googled something and entered into the first webpage that came up- or tried to. What I got was a box from Firefox saying:

You have chosen to open the file

(URL of the webpage)

which is an application/octet-stream What would you like to do with this file?

          []Open With...   [Browse] (as a button)

          []Save As...

                           [Ok]              [Cancel]

This happens with every webpage that isn't from Google or Mozilla. If I hit Cancel, the webpage won't load, if I select Save As, no program I have can open it and if I select Open With, same situation. So... what gives? What's an application/octet-stream? Why won't Firefox open webpages apart from Google or Mozilla pages (my previous version of Firefox worked fine)?

bin\awt.dll: old file not found however a file of the same name was found no update done since file contents do not match. Java update fails to apply changes to your system. Java set up error # 1722. these are the messages that I get when I try to upgrade java.

If all else fails can I just uninstall Java and download it from scratch
