Firefox won't open new tab
Firefox won't open a new tab. It opens links on a new tab but if I try to open a new tab manually it does nothing. It was fine yesterday but not today.
why is firefox no longer supporting osx 10.4 power pc mac
I think the question is pretty obvious. OSX 10.4 is left out of the current Firefox 4 update. Why? You are supporting a lot of lesser used operating systems.

Well i just tried to upgrade from 3.6 to 4.0 only to immediately discover this lost my ability to listen to eve radio.com. (streaming internet radio) Both FF versions had the same plugins and such enabled and up to date in particular the WMP addon, checked volume/mixer on the computer and site etc etc but gave up and uninstalled 4 and reinstalled 3.6. Not sure if its the windows media player not working with the new 4.0 or what, but i will be sticking to 3.6 until this works with the new version.
How do I retrieve previous version after downloading 4.0

On Firefox 4, how can I put one "new tab" on the "tab bar" (The + sign) and one next to the "back/forward" buttons (as in FF 3.6)?
In my current Firefox, the "new tab" icon/item from the "customize" pop-up window menu of items is placed next to my home, back, forward buttons near the top-left of my header (Button 1 for "new tab"). Then, the tab bar automatically come with a small tab (with a + sign) to the right of your last tab opened (so you click on + and a new tab opens. Button 2 for "new tab"). I like to have this "new tab" button twice (as a + mini tab, and next to my "home icon".
When I upgraded to Firefox 4, I seemed to be only able to "customize" or use the "new tab" in one place. Either as an icon next to home button, or as a "+ minitab", but NOT both.
What can I do to put this button in Firefox 4 on BOTH places???
Your help is really appreciated. I want to upgrade, but I want my buttons on both places...
I upgraded to FF 4, but downgraded again just because this feature... that's just me of coarse :-)

Firefox 4 became unusable. Firefox 3.6.16 is using about 110,00k of memory - but Firefox 4 was using, typically 160,000k but anything up to 200,000k causing my machine to hang as it struggled to find the memory.
The weird thing about the memory use was that it just kept on climbing - just a couple of tabs open, nothing special, but you watch the memory usage keep stepping on in about 200k increments.
There appears to be a major memory leak in Firefox 4, and until it is rectified it really is, for me, completely unusable. I had to use explorer to download 3.6.16 it was that bad.

Firefox 4 Adobe Reader X installed OS: Win7 Pro
Every time I exit Firefox, whether I view a PDF file or not, I get an error message, saying "Could not launch Acrobat."
I've manually gone Options, Applications and changed them to use Acrobat Reader, but the problem persists.
The only way I've solved the problem is to reinstall Firefox 3.6.16.
Any suggestions? I'd like to use Firefox 4, but won't until this issue is resolved.

In Firefox 3.6.16 (and presumably other earlier versions) one could force FF to offer to remember user ids and passwords for many sites by editing the file ...\Mozilla Firefox\components \nsLoginManager.js to ignore site- requested autocomplete disabling (_isAutocompleteDisabled returns false).
FireFox 4 does not use that file or any similar that I was able to find.
Can the result (FF ignores site attemps to turn off autocomplete) be achieved in some other way or by editing some other file?

Google Toolbar is fundamental to the way I use the Web. In particular, the ability to access search history and select different items on it is essential to me. This worked in Firefox 3.6 but not in Firefox 4. I spent a whole evening playing with Firefox 4 and tuning the system to the way I work. In the end, I gave up with it since my browser no longer worked in a way I regard as intuitive.
I've been with Firefox since it started, largely because it has, up to now, done more things in a more sensible way than the competition. Part of this is accommodating major extensions. Now, the language suggests that extensions are not your responsibility. I'm sorry, I disagree - compatibility with extensions is the main strength of Firefox. Ignore that and you're finished.
