Upon installing Firefox 4, I was made painfully aware that the Mozilla people had just released a browser which proceeded to HOG my resources and bring nearly everything on my MacBook Pro to a standstill. Just when I thought Safari was slow, enter Firefox 4, the slowest, clunkiest experience yet. Don't get me wrong. I do like Firefox. Actually, I reverted back to the last version, which works just fine, but hey, Mozilla, if you're going to create a new version of your browser, maybe you should take the time to make it perform better, not kidnap my system's speed.

Is anyone else having trouble with the back and forward buttons not working in FireFox 4? I installed 4 on an XP desktop and a Vista 64 laptop, and the forward and back buttons don't work on either installation. Does anyone know a fix for this? I tried deleting the "places" files in the profile and that does not help.

I am using Firefox Version 3.6.16 and my operating system is Windows XP Home Service Pack 3. Some games require Active X to be played. Please advise how to install Active X.

I have upgraded to the latest version of Firefox 3.6. After restarting, Firefox takes me to a page that wants me to upgrade to v.4. V4 is NOT supported on a Mac ppc with OSX 10.5 Leopard. I discovered that after I downloaded it and replaced 3.6 with the non-functional version. Then, I had to download 3.6 again. Nowhere on the Firefox 4 promo page does it have a link to system requirements, which would have saved me a lot of time. Duh, Mozilla! I cannot be the only person with a non-Intel Mac. Can you add the system requirements to the promo page to save others the same trouble?

I down loaded Firefox 4 as you promoted and lost internet service! Message says it won't work with my OS version. It took me a LONNNGG tome to locate the Firefox 3.6.16 to reinstall, so I am sending this in to help others. www.mozilla.com/en-US/products/download.html?product=firefox-3.6.16&os=osx&lang=en-US Your web site says you will soon no longer be adding improvements to 3.6.16, so I should switch to Firefox 4. How do I do that? I have no intentions of screwing up my Mac by upgrading to OS 5 or 6. I want to stay with OS 10. 4.11. And judging by the other help messages, I am far from the only one. There are just so many people complaining about Firefox 4 - all with the same basic problem - Firefox 4 consumes far-too much memory and appears to increase memory usage over time.

So far I have heard NOTHING from Mozilla regarding this problem.

Have Mozilla identified the problem? Is there a work around? When will there be a permanent fix?

I recently downloaded iMesh to get a few MP3 downloads. At first I was unable to uninstall the software--it told me it was in memory or in use and could not be removed. But it uninstalled today. It's off my computer, but it has hijacked my browser. When I click on a new tab, I get iMesh as a search engine. I want them off my computer! How can I revert my tabs to Firefox or Google? I went thru the steps to ensure that Firefox is my default browser.

I upgraded to the newest version of Mozilla Firefox, and once it was installed and ready for use, my Identity Safe feature for Norton is missing. I do not know how to get it back in the toolbar area. So I retro-graded back to the 3.6-16 version of Firefox, and wallah it's there even the updated version too. So why doesn't my Norton Identity Safe appear with the new version????

and after that i see firefox prevented this site ( any site i open ) from asking you to install software on your computer ..

can i make allow to the install or that kind of the Hack

Firefox is preventing an update on my computer It says it is a Firefox update It says SYSTEM UPDATE REQUIRED-A critical software update in needed for your browser. I have never seen this kind of update from Firefox before I want to know it is a safe update

When downloading Firefox 4.0, DigitalPersona Personal 4.11.3805 with DigitalPersona Extension 5.0.0.3790 (from Mozilla Firefox Add-Ons) is incompatible. Fingerprint swipes only open the DPP application's Home Page. I had to uninstall FF 4 and re-install FF 3.6.16 in order to utilize fingerprint logon recognition.

DigitalPersona will no longer support DigitalPersona Personal as is evidenced by the following email I received from PersonalSupport@digitalpersona.com:

"Thank you for contacting DigitalPersona. We are extremely sorry to inform you there will be no update releases for DigitalPersona Personal in the future. We are also sorry to inform you there will be no updates for Firefox 4 nor Internet Explorer 9. You certainly can try to use either one, if they work for you great!. If they do not work, you will have to decide to either keep DPPersonal and forgo Firefox 4 or IE 9, or vice versa. DigitalPersona, regretfully, is leaving the consumer market and is focusing on numerous business and legal applications. In fact, again sorry to inform you, DigitalPersona Personal will not be supported after Mid-April of this year."

Will there be an update to this extension, or are there other software options to make the Validity Sensors, Inc. fingerprint reader compatible with FF4?

If a webpage has been replaced using the back button listing only 'Custom Search' is available. Please advise on stopping this very annoying problem.

An unsolicited add on called General Crawler 2.0 has suddenly appeared. Standard Firefox advice has not worked, nor has uninstalling Firefox and re-installing. When you uninstall it justs keeps coming back. If you disable it it stays there but you can't tell if the disable is genuine.

I have just upgraded Firefox from 3.6.16 to Firefox 4 (OS Win XP) I had Fire FTP as an add on, but after upgrading it disappeared from the Tools Menu (along with all my accounts details) I then re installed the Fire FTP Add On but it does not appear in the Tools Menu, where has it gone? Firefox 4 appears to have reinstalled previously removed Extensions/Add ons The Tools Menu doesnt have anything in it. How can I roll back from Firefox 4

Whenever I install version 4 of Firefox, upon restarting I am getting the message spoolsv could not be started due to mozsqlite3.dll missing.

If I go back to version 3 everything is okay.

I can’t comment on Fox news, disqus is not responding. I have an account with Fox News and can login without trouble. When I try to comment or reply to articles a window will open and three dots will appear. At this point I should be able to type in a comment. The status line shows a number of servers at work but never completing a connection.

Upgraded to Firefox 4 yesterday. Had problems navigating as the back, forward, and refresh buttons would not work. URLs would also not show up at times. Reverted back to 3.6 and now no issues. Anyone else having this problem?
