One feature I loved in Firefox v3.6 was closing tabs with a programmed mouse button. My Microsoft Intellimouse has a button that I programmed for the "Close" command. In 3.6, clicking this button would only close the active tab I was on. This made for fast opening and closing of tabs. It's the main feature that made me ignore all other browsers actually.

Now I got updated to v4. And now, clicking my mouse's Close button closes out the Firefox window completely, just as though I'd clicked the window close "X" in the upper right.

How can I get it back to the way it was in 3.6?

I do web development. I was working on a site with a self-signed certificate and therefore had to create an exception in Firefox to access the site using https. Due to unrelated problems on the server, I deleted the account and then recreated it. I also had to create a new self-signed certificate. Now Firefox returns the message Error code: sec_error_reused_issuer_and_serial. I deleted the original exception from Firefox but it still returns the error. I tried to explicitly create a new exception but that returned the error, too. Note I do not have this problem with other computers on the same network and the problem does occur if I move the offending computer to another network. i.e., the problem is associated with the computer, not the network or router.

I go to YouTube to play a video and it does not work, there is just a black space where the video would be, but Internet Explore will play the video, i really like FireFox, but i need for this to work and be dependable if not im gonna have to switch back to IE

i also tried this on another computer and had the same problem with Firefox

I've tried resetting things, I told firefox to forget all my stuff when I deleted it and reinstalled it and this thing still isn't gone. I'm not a technical person and I don't really understand any of it.

I've tried clicking the the plus button, pressing ctrl + t, and right clicking the tab bar and p ressing new tab. BUT NOTHING WORKS. To get tabs I have to right click links and click open in a new tab. But that's really annoying. What do I do?

I downloaded and installed Firefox 4, but the fonts on every page look edgy and blurry like I have no ClearType enabled. the only suggestion I've found is to disable hardware acceleration. This helps a bit, but is there a way to fix font problem in some other way because I don't want to disable direct2d

I installed Hotspot Shield at the request of Magic Jack tech support (some ISPs - including mine - block Magic Jack and Magic Jack tech support response is to have the customer download Hotspot Shield). Come to find out, something installed with Hotspot Shield has apparently hijacked Firefox, routing some -- though not most -- searches away from the intended page. For some urls, the typed URL is replaced with a new one starting with either qbyrd.com or search-results.com and the intended URL embedded in a seeming search string -- but the results are totally nonsensical.

My browser has been invaded by http://www.searchqu.com/. I have uninstalled the related toolbar. When I start the Firefox browser the first tab starts in my home page as defined in Options. All subsequent tabs default to the searchqu address on opening. If I start in Safe Mode and “Reset all user preferences to Firefox defaults” and “Continue in Safe Mode” the browser work correctly, but if I “Make changes and Restart” the problem remains. I have identified that the problem resides in the Extension DataMngr 1.0 (Data Manager for Firefox). What does this extension do and can I operate satisfactorily without it or can it be replaced.

The little plus next to the tabs does nothing when I press it, going to file and new tab won't open a new tab, and neither does using control t. The only way I can get a new tab to open is to click a link or I have to open a whole new window. How do I fix this?

FF alerted today to availability of 3.6.16, but I cannot find link to download it.

I always prefer to download & run the installers manually, rather than updating from within the program.

However, the FF downloads page only offers v. 4, which I do not want to install yet.

Where is the link for downloading 3.6.16?

So I tried to watch a video on YouTube, yet Firefox just shows a black box. Neither the video nor the audio will play. It doesn't crash my browser or bring up any errors, which leads me to believe that it is not a Flash Player problem.

I opened Google Chrome and tried, and it plays YouTube videos with no problems.

I restarted my computer, yet it still does not work.

Any assistance is very much so appreciated.

Updated to 3.6.15 and all of a sudden You Tube stop working. Sound still there but no video is showing. Only black screen.

Other browser do work and sites like Metacafe and videos embedded in other places. Adobe flash is updated to latest 10.2.152.32.

Can someone help?
