How do I remove private browsing from the toolbar?
I simply want to remove private browsing so it cannot be used.
how do i remove "ads by coupon drop down" from my browser? i never installed it and it is not an add-on. it is not in my add/remove programs list either.
also, there are always unlined text throughout all the web pages i visit, that allows an ad to show up to be clicked on if the mouse is placed on the underlined word.

Hello,
In some pages, e.g. Twitter, and pages that load FB comments sections, I'm having problems with the certificates and the pages won't load. I don't get an option to add an exception either, therefore I cannot access pages.
I have pasted the error details below. Here is some important info for you:
Version: 9.0.1 <-- Upgrading is NOT an option, this is a corporate machine Connect via proxy: yes
I doubt very much that this is an issue with the connection, as IE and Chrome are NOT having this issue on the same connection.
Error I get:
This Connection is Untrusted
You have asked Firefox to connect securely to twitter.com, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure. Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified. What Should I Do? If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is
trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.
Technical Details
twitter.com uses an invalid security certificate.
The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is not trusted.
(Error code: sec_error_untrusted_issuer)
Can anyone shed some light? The usual troubleshooting I've come across hasn't helped me much.

Is there any way to start Firefox for Android in private browsing mode by default ?
I have tried searching here (didn't find a solution) and also tried changing the setting in about:config but that didn't work.
It would also be nice to set FF for Android to clear private data on exit/quit.
Solutions to either problem would be greatly appreciated.

If a web page (or local html page) is using this then they will have to use other ways get what they want like providing a Firefox extension.
Where is it possible to find an exension of this kind (if it exists)?

I've seen that a similar post was marked 'solved' but as there is no workaround, surely it should be left open.
I've been using Firefox since 2005 - almost always on Windows - though have used it on Linux. I recently got an Android tablet and was shocked at how (let's say) different, the browser is on the platform.
Tabs have been taken from the top of the screen and moved to the left. No easy dropdowns for favorite sites and worst of all, there is some ridiculous 'Top Sites' feature. I really dont see the need for such a feature as my 'top sites' would be in my favourites..
If top sites is anything like the desktop version (which thankfully was easy to get rid of) then it could potentially show a screen with my banking details (balance etc) to anyone that uses firefox on a shared tablet.
A ridiculous security oversight.. Why can we not set a homepage to a website or whatever we want? I would also like to see some further customisation options for tablets. We have a lot of screen real-estate, you know..
I see that the top sites thing is being looked at but can you please leave at least one post open to post updates.. I will be installing Firefox again but will have to use something else in the meantime - at least until I can get user profiles on my Galaxy 10.1 in 4.2.

Pop ups have been appearing in lower left and lower right corners of my screen for many months. I installed Adblock Plus a few weeks ago and they seemed to go away. Now, they have come back. The last ad I clicked on opened a new tab, blank and the spinner was going for a few seconds, I sensed trouble and closed the tab.
While researching on the Mozilla site - I got another lower right ad (purporting to be from Firefox). Hovered the mouse over it and it appeared to show a Mozilla URL in the lower left status bar, but I wasn't about to click on it. The ad looks phoney. I have a screen capture and would love to send it to you. I've got tonight's screen capture (with mouse hover) saved as a JPG and PNG files. Tell me how to upload and I will.
Related or not related to the pop up issue (I'm note sure) is this: Again while researching on the Mozilla site tonight - I did a Control-Clicked on a link to read one of your malware topics and instead the new tab opened to a site called local.com. For a long time (a year) I have had the problem of being taken off to some unwanted web sites when using Control-Clicks. Angy.
In all these months, Windows Security Essentials is always on. I've run several full scans. Never find things. Do my best to keep all software and virus info up to date. Damn pop ups just keep happening. I can't tell you if these things happen with Windows Explorer cuz I don't use it much.
Would like to scream - if I knew it would help. Tell me what to do next. Thanks.

Hello,
On my website I have a SSL certificate installed so you can reach it via https://www.example.net and http://www.example.net. To administer my website, I access it over https but when I just want to see the changes or simply visit the website, I don't want to see the the website over https. I want to visit it over the http. However, since Firefox "remembers" this website can be reached over https even when I type in the address bar www.example.net it takes me to https://www.example.net. I have to manually remove the "s" or enter the full http://www.example.net address in order to see the website over http. While some may find this default behavior desirable, I find it annoying and should I wish to access the website over https I will enter the full address with https at the beginning. My question is, how do I disable the Firefox from defaulting to https connection? I'd not like to disable completely the auto fill feature if that's the only way to do it.
Firefox 20.0 on OS X 10.8.3.
Thank you, Goran
