One hour ago I was happily watching youtube videos under Linux using Firefox 20.0 and flash 11.2. I just updated firefox and it is now blocking my flash and prompting me to update. The problem is I can't update because 11.2 is the LAST flash plugin for firefox, there won't be any other version.

Is there a way to prevent firefox from disabling my plugin?

Viewing these pages at suppose.mozilla.org in firefox 21, I can use the down key to scroll the down. However, this is not true for some web pages. For example, github pages :

<https://github.com/bower/bower>

pressing the down key no longer seems to scroll the page down. I've not tested it, but I'm fairly sure I used to be able to scroll with just the keyboard.

Not really a question, more of a plea...

Firefox 18.0 crawls on my machine. Not the browsing as such; that's only a little slower than 17.0.1 (still noticeable). I'm talking about opening and traversing menus and entering text in text fields on sites. I had to go back to 17.0.1 as it was just too annoying. This is on Linux Mint Debian Edition (Debian Testing), using the nl localized Firefox downloaded from the Mozilla site. Switching off extensions and/or using a new profile didn't help. If this doesn't get any better in following versions, I'll have to look for another browser when 17.0.1 becomes too old. Please don't make me do that. I've just tried Chrome and quite frankly, it's a bit of a joke...

Pages with web fonts, like http://google.com/fonts, are not rendered correctly. All text that should be web fonts is shown with the default font. This is Firefox 20.0 on Ubuntu 13.04 with Gnome 3.8. - Starting in safe mode does not help. - neither does starting with a new blank profile. - There are no error messages in the Error Console. - Javascript is enabled. - not allowing hardware acceleration does not help. - the "Allow sites to use their own fonts" option is checked. - I am not behind a proxy.

What else is there to check?

I have Firefox 20.0 (binary package) on Gentoo x86_64

Uncheking "Use system colors" works until Firefox isn't closed, then restarting it's checked again.

Same behaviour setting "browser.display.use_system_colors" as "false" in about:config.

I tried using a completely blank profile (deleting ~/.mozilla) but still same behaviour.

Any ideas?

Hello,

I have account in Sync and 4 or 5 devices connected to it. Since last week I can not syncing with server on my one device - Notebook with Linux Mint, Firefox 19. I receive error: "Sync encountered an error while syncing: Unknown error. Sync will automatically retry this action."

But on other devices (MacBook, Windows 7) there are no problem with syncing.

I hope you will help me.

I used to run Ubuntu 12.10 & Aurora 22 on my computer. Recently I've updated my Ubuntu to 13.04 beta, and ever since that happened, every website I try to go to (including Google search and so on...) shows "connecting..." for about 20 seconds before finally showing any content. My connection speed is 20 Mbps and Chrome works fine. Downgrading to Firefox 20.0 didn't solve it. Neither using the "Reset Firefox" feature nor safe mode solved it.

I absolutely love Firefox, been a fan of the browser for years and I'd hate permanently moving to Chrome. Help, please?

Downloads for a Windows machine are Easy to install. Downloads for a Linux machine aren't easy to install. If said downloads where made available as a.deb package they (from a computer user's standpoint) would become just as easy to install. A.deb package is one of four ways that Linux installs downloads and in my humble opinion is the easiest. Otherwise I am forced to wait for the latest Firefox to become available in the "Package Manager". Currently using Linux Mint Nadia>

I'm using Firefox 19.0.2 on Fedora 17. I've copied a javascript function onto my computer (and marked it as executable) and put it on my Smart Bookmark list as a bookmarklet. Alas, when I try to use it, all it does is open the file, displaying the contents in the browser window. How do I get it to work as it's supposed to?

I would like to keep the google search as it is, in terms of using it as the search engine. I do not wish to change that. I would like to reset or clear the search results from the searchbar however on the startup page at about:home. Is that possible and how could I do this? Is it somethings I need to reset in the about.config file? I have already reset the mstone, setting and the results are still there. Thank you so much, for helping me with this issue.

I recently put firefox (17.0.5) in full screen for a while on my Linux Laptop running CentOS6 (up to date on 3/5/2013) I never managed to exit this full screen mode, neither with the contextual menu in the tab bar (appeared when I went to the top of the screen), nor with F11. Even when I close and restart Firefox, or when I shut off and restart the laptop, I get back to this fullscreen mode each time I open firefox. Only the failsafe mode (run with the command firefox -safe-mode) is not in full screen, and that was for me the only way to disable all my addons (as recommanded by some similar threads on the support forum). I have no access to any menu, but thanks to the about:plugins special address, I could control that my plugins are off, and e for with about:support I got an overview of my installation, that seem OK. There is also about:config to edit my preferences, but I don't find the one which could be responsible for this behavior. Any ideas?

I would like to change the background colour of the 'about' pages to #EFEFEF or a named colour if such code cannot be used and, if possible, the font colour as well. The white background is my main focus.

I am hopeful that the colour(s) can be changed using the userChrome.css file.

I have been unable to find an answer to the specific question or any source providing a comprehensive list of element and attribute names.

I am using Firefox 20.0.1 on a Linux operating system.

Tab background color changes when saving or downloading (Ubuntu) - bug ?

I'm using Firefox 20.0 on Linux Ubuntu. When I'm opening and using Firefox, the active tab background is light gray, and the other tabs are black (with white/gray text). But as soon as I have downloaded a file (saving an image for example, or a pdf), the tabs change color: the non active tabs turn gray instead of black, and the tab text is almost unreadable (gray on gray).

I have disabled ALL extensions (including the Ubuntu/Unity extensions) and restarted Firefox, and get the same result. See screenshot with before/after downloading: http://imagesup.net/?di=113687926169

On the other hand, when I start Firefox in safe mode, all is well, the tabs don't change color when downloading or saving a file.

What to do? Could this be a bug ?
