EDIT: I have solved this problem on my end. It turns out that my mouse manufacturer had a 'helper' program that was screwing up the horizontal-tilt support. Quitting it solved the problem. To others having the same problem, I suggest checking your own mouse's helper utilities.

I am given to understand that previous versions of Firefox supported horizontal scrolling when used with a scrollwheel mouse that supported tilt messages. However, I've been unable to get it to work on Firefox 20.0.1. I've tried disabling smooth scrolling, hardware acceleration, restarting in safe mode, but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

(The troubleshooting information below represents the usual configuration of my browser, without disabling any extensions.)

On the other hand, other applications seem to handle mousewheel tilts just fine; I've tried it with applications as simple as Notepad on Windows and they scroll horizontally in response to mousewheel tilts. I'm stumped; did Mozilla remove tilt support in later versions of Firefox?

when a form has an upload file control the browser pops up a selection dialog starting in a default folder, can the location of this folder be changed? if i browse to another one in the dialog the new location does seem to be cached somewhere for a few days but gets wiped again eventually

When phone is turned to full screen mode, there is no loading status.

So it is difficult to know when you have clicked on an icon. There is no indication on the page for how long the next page is going to be.

Is there a way off having a loading bar on full screen without the status bar?

Booted up computer this morning. Auto update of Firefox to 19. No previous tabs available. Eventually restored previous tabs but some of Add-ons didn't work even tho no message to say so. SEO-Book toolbar was there after update but later disappeared. Tried downloading SE-Book toolbar again still did not appear in View / Toolbars tab. Did not appear on screen. The video download prog I had in the Tools tab no longer there. Got rid of download helper as it didn't work anyway.

I'm using Firefox 19 Beta (fully updated) on Mac OS 10.8.2 (also fully updated). I recently reinstalled the OS, and before I had, I was using the same version of Firefox. Before the reinstall, Firefox was using notification center for all notifications. I used to have Growl installed, but uninstalled it after Firefox added Notification Center support. Now, after the reinstall, Firefox is not showing up under my list of Notification Center applications. Does anyone have any idea how to get Firefox to show up in Notification Center? I have googled around with no success.

I'm running Firefox 18.0.1 in Mac 10.8.2, but I've had this problem in other versions too. I need FF to run in 32-bit mode, because I often use Google Voice, which requires that. I've already gone to the information window for the application and checked the box that says "Open in 32-bit mode." Seems like that should solve the problem. But it doesn't. Every time I open FF and log in to Gmail, I get a message saying it uses plug-ins that can only run in 32-bit mode, and asking if I want to restart in 32-bit mode. If I just want to check my email it's fine, but if I want to use Google Voice I have to restart the browser. That's annoying, given that there already is a setting for starting in 32-bit mode, and that I've already selected it. Is that setting non-functional, or is there some way to make it actually work?

Using Firefox 19.0 and Shockwave Flash 11.6.602.167 (11.6.r602). Mac OSX 10.8.2.

Problem is that I can left-click once in a field and enter data, but if I click a second time, the field will no longer accept input. I have to click outside the field first, and then I can click inside the field to continue entering data.

For example, I click inside a field to enter my user ID. But if I move the mouse back to the first character and then left-click, it will not allow me to enter data. Disabling Shockwave resolves the problem.

This problem occurs on two separate machines - Macbook Pro and Macbook Air.

I belong to a membership site that is coaching me on e-mail marketing. I want to cut and paste different bits of information and ad links etc. to emails that I am sending out through the site. For some reason, Firefox will not allow me to cut and paste when I am in this particular site?? I can cut and paste in Microsoft Word and other programs with no problem. But when I'm on this particular site it's no deal. This is very frustrating. What can I do to resolve the problem.

I'm developing a GWT application. In FF-latest version I do not see the obfuscated stack trace in the firebug-console when an error occurs, but only a stack-trace of anonymous functions. On FF 13.0.1 for example I do see the obfuscated stack trace. Is there a way to see it in all versions of FF?

I use share a lot, as i primarily view my RSS/atom feeds on my Android phone and whenever i find something too long to read comfortably on my phone as i hurry about my life, i share it to my computer with Sync. This means i send off 10-12 tabs a day and every time i need to choose the sole computer i have in Sync.

So is it possible to have that computer be pre-selected (so i just have to press send), by Firefox just remembering which computer i last shared something with?

I have a virtual environment and need to be able to put add-ons/extensions in one shared directory so all my clients can access them. I do not want the users to have to install them. Is there anyway to do this?

When I am on a chat site, and have minimized the window or have another program in front of Firefox. When someone sends me a message it plays a sound. This cause the Firefox to come the the front of my other programs. I would like to turn the function/feature off so that I can still hear the sound, but it doesn't jump in front of the other windows. Please help :)

On Firefox 19 or 20beta when using firefox with multiple monitors in OSX 10.8.3 upon closing Firefox opens in the main monitor regardless of the previous monitor selected.

I've tried switching from 19 to 20beta and back, clearing the .rdf file referenced in other threads, turning off hardware acceleration, completely uninstalling and reinstalling firefox, and anything else I could think of to no avail.

We are using a software application that has Firefox as the default browser. We are using scanners and the Firefox settings have to be changed every time we scan a document. How do you manage the settings or change the default settings in Firefox, they are taking precedent over the scanner default settings.

I am on Mac. Up to Firefox 18 I used this plug-on: http://code.google.com/p/firefox-mac-pdf/ I had to change though the maximum version number inside the xpi file so that it is still usable, but I have found this plugin way superior to anything else. Since Firefox 18 I cannot use it -- even though I set the max version number above 100:) When I try to install my tweaked version, Firefox just reports that it is not compatible without any further information.

Unfortunately, the new built-in viewer is not a good solution for me as it has all kind of font rendering problems, especially when it comes to printing (I am mostly reading and printing math).

Any help would be much appreciated or, sadly, I will need to forget about using Firefox. I wasted quite a few sheets of papers printing gibberish as I keep forgetting that printing just does not work from the browser.

Since Firefox 18 i think when direct link to video or audio file in supported format is clicked the browser generates html5 page with video/audio tag and tries to play it instead of opening it as configured. Unfortunately the build in player lacks both in features and formats support when compared to some plugins and is not suitable as drop-in replacement for them. Is there a way to disable the new behavior and open links normally?

I know that disabling formats in about:config (media.format.enabled) solves the problem, but it also breaks pages, that intentionally use audio/video tags.
