When I save a page to my desktop and then open it in Firefox (v.20), it often (though not always) happens that roughly the top half of the page is totally blacked out by a large rectangle, right across the width of the page. Happens on all my PCs (Windows 7 x64). As I scroll down the saved htm file, the large black rectangle remains at the top of the page (still blocking out about half of it).

This has been happening on and off (not every saved page does this, but I can't see that it is particular websites) for ages (certainly the past year: updating to newer versions of FF over this period hasn't changed anything) so I thought I'd finally post about it. Can't see any other people posting about this though.. Odd.

You know you have a search bar on the top left of FireFox there it nomally has Yahoo, Google, etc that you can select when searching for something. Well they dissappeared niether Yahoo Search or Google Search is there I didn't remove them they disappeared. I am running firefox 18. I don't know how to get them back when I click get more search engines there is no Yahoo or Google Search addon for the FireFox search bar. Please Help.

Noise will appear if specific charactor "ส้้้้้้้้้้้้้้้้้้้้้้้้้้้้้ " showed on the web page. No poroblem with Asian (CJK) charactor.

Okay, this has been a problem for awhile, but now it's a crisis: I have the latest version of Firefox, a high-end laptop, and fast wifi, but about every other day I don't see images or have complete functionality, or even the normal layout, on most web pages (everything from ebay to msnbc's video page to...). That includes my email (yahoo -- att.net), which has become all but unusable since yahoo's latest upgrade. EG, I click a box to select an email to move or delete and nothing happens (ie, no check mark shows up); the various function buttons that should be at the top aren't there; images in all email are suddenly blocked that I can't unblock; can't reply/forward; etc.). What the heck goes on? My wi-fi is fine (Chrome, my phone, and even Explorer work with no problem). Disabling hardware acceleration made little difference: email seems a bit better now (though that may be a coincidence -- sometimes closing and reopening the browser helps by itself), but other pages are unchanged. This is urgent -- I literally can't use Firefox, which has been my favorite browser, until it's fixed. HELP!

I am using Firefox 21.0 on a Windows 7 Pro computer. Firefox often doesn't display the url for web pages that I am on and I would like to have the url displayed. Is there an easy way to ensure that?

Two days ago, I deleted the sound on my computer by mistake when I was deleting unused programs. I was able to fix it simply by doing a system restore and then the sound worked, however, when I clicked on the mozilla icon in order to sign onto the internet, it didn't work. I kept getting this error notice: failed to read configuration, contact your system manager (or something to that effect). I deleted Firefox, and then added it again, it still wouldn't work. Someone from your Facebook page tried to help, but the link I was given, was the same one I had already been to, several times, where I had been going around and around in circles for hours trying to get something to work. I absilutely detest using Internet Explorer, but I can't get Firefox to work anymore on my laptop. I would appreciate any help you could give me on this, before my computer learns to fly....through the wall!! Thank you, Nancy Owens

Firefox version 19 for mac. I have tried disabling plug ins one by one: Java 7 update 17; Quicktime 7.7.1; Sharepoint 14.3.2; Shockwave flash 11.6.602.180- no help. The noise does not occur using Safari. I have also deleted and reinstalled Firefox, and resorting to an older version using Time machine. Nothing helps. The sound is loud enough to be heard in the next room! I can obviously mute the speakers but would rather have a silent firefox! Thank you

I have OS 10.8.4, FireFox 18.0.2 and I can't viiew video links nor play audio links on websites. Can't find quicktime plug-in for firefox either. All google searches for same come up empty. What is going on? I can get the plug-in for Chrome but not FireFox. Add-ons manager also can't find the quicktime app.

When I try clicking on a link that has audio, I get the message about needing a plug-in and advice to click the link to find one. There are none.

What do I have to do to get quicktime plug-in on my mac?

BTW, QuickTime itself works just fine; I just can't play mpr etc files through FireFox.

When I click on the mminus sign on top right, this site is supposed to save to the firefox icon. But it does not and when I open another web page, the first one has disappeared. what do I do so that I can save websites

    I am constantly getting the error, "unresponsive script" on allot of web pages. I tried disabling allot of the addons, but I still get this message:

Firefox also freezes up when I go to a new page, but if I wait a minute, it will come back. Can anyone assist me concerning this problem? Thank You.

I am experiencing issues with no sound when watching flash-based videos in Firefox. It affects all YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion and other websites as well.

It happens:

• When ads are displayed.
• When I click "pause" and then resume, the sound disappears.

To get the sound back it helps either to start the download from the very beginning, or to refresh the whole page.

A funny thing is that it's working in IE and Chrome, so I don't think it's anyhow related to Flash Plugin itself. The same happens to me at work and when I'm home, I doubt Flash videos would be blocked by company policy anyway, because lots of meetings etc. are published also on YouTube.

Issue started already some time ago, I tried to reinstall FF and all Adobe software, including Air and Flash, but so far no success.

I looked through lots of support articles and forums to get it sorted out and still the same. Anyone having similar issues there?

If you need any more details, feel free to ask. All assistance or tips really appreciated.

I installed the add on and it shows under the adds on but I can't view it and it keeps saying I have to paste the button to the panel. What button? I don't see anything different about my toolbar.

When I have visited travel websites I can not 'click' on the Calendar. I tried to buy a book and checked off to be visit as a guest - and the website did not recognize the button I had checked off. I tried to edit on 'online profile" and the website does not recognize that I have clicked the 'edit' button.

I changed browser.newtab.url to about:newtab, but everytime I reboot my computer it gets back to about:blank. How can I set the about:newtab to my perm tab page adress when I open a new tabpage?

I've been using firefox for a really really long time, and I play quite a lot of facebook games. Yesterday morning, things were working perfectly fine, but later in the day, I suddenly started getting these shockwave errors. I can't recall downloading anything and I must have uninstalled and reinstalled the flash player at least 8 times. It's honestly starting to frustrate me. I love firefox, but if the browser refuses to work, I probably won't be using it for much longer.

I have downloaded Firefox but it doesn't work. All I get is Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.website.com. I've configured the firewall and tried some of the other fixes but I simply can't use the browser. Unfortunately I need to submit a form online and this is the only browser that supports the form. Any help would be appreciated.
