When I enter about:config into the adress box I get only an empty page. The about:config works normally on safe mode.

I have tried to check all boxes in the safe mode window, this did not help. I even manually disabled all add-ons and plugins, but this didn't help either.

Any ideas what to do?

i reset ff but two addons remain, fluxdvd download manager 0.5 been trying to get rid of this one for a long time and microsoft.net framework assistant 0.0.0 .

Dear developers, for some time Firefox has a plugincheck "feature". Is there any way to turn it off? This blocks contents for eg. flash videos, so I have to enable the "old" plugin for each website... I do not care if my plugins are up to date or not. I'll update them if I want to. This is a very annoying thing in the firefox :( I use this browser for many years, but as you develop this, it just getting worse and worse. Slow, eats a lots of memory, some "plugin container" slows my whole system sometime and now this plugincheck. I'm seriously thinking about changig browser if there's no way to turn it off :( Please answer ASAP (no answer, like "we are planing..." is acceptable) Thank You for answering.

Recently I was forced to restart Firefox after a series of unexplained crashes, which I do not mind at all. I decided to create a new persona for Firefox in order to start again, but ran into an unexpected problem. Although my header and footer were their respective requested sizes, upon using the persona I could only see the top right-hand third of the image. I attempted scaling down my images in Photoshop and resubmitting them, but anything smaller than the requested size is not accepted.

I recently downloaded and then deleted the Capture & Print add-on. The S (screen capture), W (window capture), and R (region capture) icons, however, are still showing up in the top, right hand corner of my browser, right beside the minimize, restore, and exit icons. The S, W, and R icons are in the way when I try to close tabs or open new ones (up at the top of my screen). I have restarted my computer several times, but these icons continue to show up. Every now and again they go away, but then they come back.

I've tried going to the Toolbar Layout area, but when I open that, the icons disappear, and I'm not able to drag them away and delete them.

I want my Menu bar on top, My address bar below that, my tabs below that, and my bookmark bar below that on the very bottom. I can go in about:config and manually toggle the tabs to be on bottom, however that puts it below all my bookmark buttons! As it stands, the dumbass order of my toolbars (which is really pissing me off) is menu bar, tabs, address bar, and then my bookmarks. HEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLPPP!!!!! THIS IS FREAKIN ANNOYING!!!!!!!

I need to know how to lock preferences for history settings. I do not want users' to be able to change the history settings and I have already tried the local-settings.js and mozill.cfg method. But the settings do not grey out in the options menu once I set them and that is what I want. I know my file is being read because i have other settings that are italicized in the about:config that I locked. Am I using the wrong settings to do this possibly? Or is there a different method that I need to use. I have already followed everything to the 't' on this page: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Locking_preferences

firefox is deleting my download history, I truly don't want firefox to do that. in earlier versions you could hold onto those items, i need to know where my downloads go to because i choose folder.

recentaly i have faced many problems with firefox: flashing and shivering windows and sometimes if more than window is opened they start to change their places automatically. So, i decided to reset firefox. Before i do that i synchronised all my bookmarks and add-ons, as i thought, using the synchronising feature in firefox. after resetting i discovered that firefox only RESTORED bookmarks, WHY?????? i was really annoyed and upset, i love my add-ons and i want to retore them. PLEASE HELP SAVE MY ADD-ONS

I clicked on the "Check to see if your plugins are up to date" in the Plugins section in Add-ons Manager. I see a bunch of Google plugins (Picasa, Google Update, Google Talk Plugin Video Renderer) and Windows Live Photo Gallery in a section titled "Unknown Plugins". I was wondering if this is a problem on the end of the makers of these plugins (not keeping them up to date or not making them in such a way that Firefox can recognize whether or not they are) or if it is something on my end?

Also, my "Google Earth Plugin" is outdated but clicking Update Now does nothing. Does anyone know the reason for this?

I go to a website that requires a Java plug-in. I downloaded the latest update (21) for Java 7 from Oracle but when I go to Add-Ons>Plugins in Firefox 20 the Java plug-in doesn't appear and when I do a search at the Get Add-ons nothing that mentions the Java Plug-in shows up. Where can I get the plug-in required to use with JRE7u21?

am not sure how or when AVG somehow managed to "get permission" to install and corrupt my firefox browser, but it cannot be deleted now.

going into the add ons and tools, disabling AVG has no effect. in add/remove programs there is no AVG to be found.

since nothing within firefox can disable or block or remove it, it appears to be a virus or malware. have removed or disabled and restarted the browser, again and again and again. rebooted the pc 2 times after making SURE it was disabled. still there.

it does STUPID searches, type in something and it gives worthless answers. now each time I have to manually type in www.google.com to get to that site to be able to enter the search info. if I need to uninstall this worthless AVG thing by opening up the hard drive and taking sandpaper to those shiny disk things inside to scrape away AVG, Im going to do it.

if anyone knows how to get a version of firefox that DOES NOT HAVE AVG? then I want to download it. if there is a driver or something that will be able to block AVG from attaching like a parasite to firefox? then I want to download that as well

there may be plug-ins that I have downloaded that are not doing anything or that I do not even use, If so then I should disable them .

Good day. I have a question for Firefox add-on's wed site. An add-on is out dated, or there is a problem with the add-on. You try to contact the add-on's writer, but there is no contact information in their profile page, and the home page information is no good. Is there a way for the web site administrators to contact the writer?

HI When I am watching a news clip, an advertisement comes on and I can not hear my news clip. Is there a way to turn off the advertisements which are interrupting my news clips that I am trying to listen to?

I belong to a chat site and somehow when I visited it last, I accidently clicked a "block" or a "filter" button I saw, thinking it would block ads, but now I don't see the site, just a bunch of text on the left. How can I reverse what I did?
