Firefox won't start playing webm videos until the complete video is in downloaded/cached.

http://lac.linuxaudio.org/2013/video.php?id=78 <-- example video or http://lac.linuxaudio.org/2013/recordings/09-02-baalman-480p.webm

Server side seems fine: Content-Type is OK (video/webm), apache2.2.22 (returns 206 for Range:0- requests),..

Problem exists with

* Nighly 24.0a1 (2013-05-17) Linux 32bit
* Firefox 21.0
* Iceweasel (10.0.12 from debian)

Works fine with other browsers (e.g. chromium, epiphany,...) Might be similar to https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=502894#c1

Is this a bug? An issue with HTML5

Thanks in advance

I have the same problem as https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/881844 but with fx 21.

Firefox 21 on Ubuntu 13.04 stops loading pages after a while, ranging from less than an hour to a day, of regular browsing. It gets stuck on "looked up whatever.com" or "connecting to..." message. Restarting the browser makes it work for another period.

Changing network.http.max-connections did not help, clearing various history items (cookies, cache, ..., or everything except saved passwords) did not help.

I now disabled ipv6 https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-cant-load-websites-other-browsers-can?#w_ipv6 and prefetching but the fact that the problem occurs after several hours makes it hard to test.

When Firefox is Minimized, Flash Player Content does not. It shows it perfectly with other opened (not minimized) applications in the exact location where it was (the flash content) before. The other application seems to need an RGB colour map of exactly #000000 for it to show.

It cannot be captured in a screenshot using screengrab, nor can it be shown in playback from recordmydesktop.

The error messages for sync aren't useful. I don't know what the problem is, other then "it gives an error."

It has "success" and "error" together. Is it saying that success failed? The log is in yoda-speak.

What is the error here?

Does "status.sync: success.sync => error.login.reason.network" and the surrounding messages indicate that sync sucess failed? What do the other messages mean? All I see is that will try again.

Virtually any action taken (especially closing a tab, any tab) causes the above. I moved ~/.mozilla and ~/.fonts to a tmpfs which once used to be enough to make the disk spin-ups reasonable but not any more.

I changed the disk cache dirs

browser.cache.disk.parent_directory → string → /tmp browser.cache.offline.parent_directory → string → /tmp

to /tmp, which is also a tmpfs. Then I disabled disk cache

browser.cache.disk.enable False browser.cache.memory.enable True

but nothing seems to stop this crazy behaviour. What more can I do?

I looked through lsof and strace, Firefox seems to also be using /var/cache/fontconfig/ and .cache/fontconfig/ do I need to move those, too?

This is on Ubuntu 13.04 with Firefox 21.

Hi,

I have a slight problem with the firefox sessionrestore on ubuntu (13.04 64bit). Every time I login after a shutdown/logout and open firefox it opens all the tabs and windows I had when shutting down. It seems that firefox thinks it crashed after a reboot since a normal exit/relaunch shows me a single empty page (which i prefer)

After googling a lot of relevant settings about disabling the sessionstore in about:config were suggested but none worked. I'll try to sum up the settings that seem related ot that I changed but can't be sure of all I did, I've been struggling with it for some months (since I changed from chrome to firefox) and didn't document my changes.

I've tried disabling all addons and start a clean profile but that didn't change anything so I reverted to my old profile, I don't have a second pc to test on so I'm not sure if this problem is limited to my setup.

I've set:

  • browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash to false
  • browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes to 0
  • browser.sessionstore.max_tabs_undo to 0
  • browser.sessionstore.max_windows_undo to 0
  • toolkit.startup.max_resumed_crashes

Default:

  • browser.sessionstore.resume_session_once is false
  • browser.sessionstore.restore_hidden_tabs is false
  • browser.sessionstore.restore_pinned_tabs_on_demand is false

Is there anything else I can try to test or fix this? Thanks in advance for any help!

Facebook sets the value of <spellchecker.dictionary> to <ru_RU> every time I start entering text (language doesn't matter) in a textbox on FB.

FF: Firefox 20.0 - Mozilla Firefox for Linux Mint OS: Linux Mint 13

I haven't noticed any other website I use causing that problem: all of them use the predefined (in prefs.js) value of <spellchecker.dictionary> and don't change it unless I change the speller language manually. The only way I can change the value of <spellchecker.dictionary> back to <en_US> is manually choosing English in context menu of a textbox, or editing "prefs.js", every time Facebook messes it up.

Why does FB always sets <spellchecker.dictionary> to <ru_RU>???

My default locale is "en-US": <general.useragent.locale> = "en-US".

Please help.
