My Firefox homepage is set to google and everytime I start Firefox it goes directly to google. No problem here. The problem that I have is that under the history tab there is a restore previous session button that is annoying me. The privacy setting is set to "Use custom settings for history". The only thing that are checked are the "Accept cookies from sites" and "Accept third-party cookies" checkboxes. Solution that starts with "Are you using Tools > Options > General > Startup: "When Firefox Starts": "Show my windows and tabs from last time" ? " Please don't. I also want to disable the recently closed windows button under that darn history tab. I just can't figure it out why Firefox doesn't seem to care about people's privacy. I'm using Firefox 6. I know I have to update it but that's not the point here

Depending on my theme and style I was able to force Firefox to be transparent and work with Aero to show through to my desktop or other windows behind the browser. I really liked this ability, however, sometime after Firefox 16 this stopped working and I have been looking for a solution ever since. I am currently on the the release version of Firefox.

Does Firefox not allow this anymore or is there a way I can code this feature back using Styles or modifying one of the files in Firefox?

How do I disable the plugin check at Firefox start up? All of my plugins are up to date and I do not have Java installed on my system (thus, do not have the Java plugin).

I'm running FF 12 and have already set plugins.update.notifyUser to False.

.......... maybe someone a---whole lot smarter than me can help solve this major meltdown? but in firefox browser and as i open in help to find what version i'm using, it says 19.0.2. but this firefox site "" https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/find-what-version-firefox-you-are-using#os=win7&browser=fx20 "" it says i'm using Firefox 6. and as i go into add and remove programs it says i'm using Mozilla Firefox 17.0. blah blah. but yet in add and remove programs, i can't remove it, it keeps asking simply to reboot, but will in no certain terms remove this morphed crap, please, anyone out there has a clue into fixing this mess. why i can't remove and redownload is beyond me. and i'm using Norton 360 with HP Windows 7, on a Dell 7100 Studio XPS, i've tried oh so many things, even to rid my self of Noton 360, but no-go....? help!!!

i go onto facebook and i cannot upload photos/videos as it says i need to go to 'firefox help' , 'options' and click 'check for updates'. i have spent over 3 hours trying to figure it out. why is firefox on my phone if it is not compatible with this model (nokia n900) , thank you

I downloaded what I thought was a new version since it keeps flipping popping up whenever I tried to get on the Internet and NOW that stupid AOL toolbar will not go away.

I've tried everything --even customizing and can't get rid of it.  I have used Mozilla for over 10 years--I was one of the first ones and now I hate this and hate that I can't call someone.

Not much more to say really, started a week ago so i changed my home page pref's etc and it just goes back to yahoo. deleted firefox and reinstalled version 17 same problem?

There was a recent update on my system when I shutdown yesterday. When I tried logging into Facebook today, an Unsecured Connection warning popped up. When I clicked on Add Exceptions, the Facebook website was totally blocked on my system.

This link (http://41.215.137.164:81/amref/vacancies.aspx) is from an amref website, for job applications. I can't access it on my computer. The page loads, but it is blank!

I tried restarting my Siphon account to change the password, I also tried uninstalling Siphon and re-installing, assigning a new password to it, but it won't take effect. I am forced to continue to use my old password, which is no longer secure.

For work, I automated the downloading of documents (doc, docx, pdf files etc.) using a simple macro in iMacros. I had to use a macro because the nature of the site is - go to the main screen, click a client name link, scroll down and click a link to download the document - then go back to the main screen and repeat. The macro automated this tedious process and WAS working with about 95% success (seems that I can't tell firefox to automatically save a txt file for some reason - but that's another story). Now, all of a sudden, the macro won't download any pdf's. The macro still works fine when the document is a doc or docx or rtf file but when it hits a pdf file, it does nothing - just moves on to the next client. Since the macro works properly with the other file types (again, not txt - but everything else) it's probably not an iMacros issue. The frustrating part is - I can go into the page manually where the pdf file lives - and click on the file - and it works properly - file downloads automatically as it should.

the macro code line is very simple: TAG POS=1 TYPE=A ATTR=TARGET:_blank

I had to set all my document file types to automatically download (including adobe files) when a link is clicked - which is fine - and like I said - the macro used to work - just stopped downloading pdf's all of a sudden.

Also I disable the adobe plugin - but that didn't work - since I have adobe files set to download automatically it shouldn't make a difference if the plugin is active or not anyway.

I cannot get into any of the PCH.com accounts, there are quite a few like PCHSearch&Win. Most of the time I can get in through Explorer but today it was not taking my PCHlotto. I am not computer literate so I do not know how to fix the problem. At one time all of PCH.com was on Mozilla Firefox, I do not know how it got on Explorer anyway? It does not matter to me as long as I can enter the Sweepstakes and Games. I want someone to fix it. My security is McAfee.

I am on an older computer that works just fine, but the processor is too slow for the flash upgrade, nor do I have the other system requirements. What can I do to get rid of this nagging bar? I do not mind upgrading to a lower version of flash, providing it is light on memory;but don't know how to or where to get it. I have seen some archives of older versions but they require knowledge of how to do zip files, or how to do the download as it isn't automatic. I currently have something called "shockwave flash 9.0.45.0". The names are another confusing thing. They talk about shockwave flash, adobe flash player, adobe flash; are they all the same thing? michelle

My laptop, which I run in Firefox shows, THE PAGE CANNOT BE DISPLAYED. it is frozen on this page, i also have access to a notebook pc, so i can download a link via usb if required.

The problem I have is not with this PC, but with my Compaq laptop. The page is frozen and I cannot access any other part of my system to do a reset to an earlier time.
