When open a hyper link to a xxx.zip file to downlod it, Firefox open it without the .zip extension, fail to recgonize its type. From the application panel, no Winzip application can be found.

I use Safari on my iMac as primary browser but have installed Firefox as an alternate. My preferences in Firefox are set to automatically check for all updates, automatically install and warn me if any add-ons are disabled, but the update history is blank and when I click on "About Firefox" it does not check for updates and tell me to "install" or "apply update"; it simply states that updates are available at the Firefox website. But I can't find them. If updates are happening behind the scenes, then why did a site today warn me that I needed updates for Firefox? I can't figure out how to get updates.

Yesterday I downloaded a 'firefox optimized for yahoo' app. Then last night my yahoo email was hacked and all emails and contacts deleted. I believe the app I downloaded may have been false? or your yahoo optimization was hacked.

I have been trying for several weeks to use promo cards on Firefox. They are real cards, but they dont' work. I don't know what i need to do in firefox or on my computer to make all gift cards and promo codes work.

From my desktop PC running windows 7 SP2 and Firefox 5.0.1 when I use Google search I get results from the UK even though I live in Australia and have my location details set in Windows to Australia.

I have edited general.useragent.locale to en-au and intlaccept_lanuage en-au,en and still I canot get result from Australia

I have alos set the intl to use OS settings but still it is not working properly

I installed Microsoft Silverlight to watch a show on Netflix, but it is not working. Someone at Netflix told me to contact Microsoft to help, and then someone at Microsoft told me to contact Firefox.

Coming from an IE environment where it was EASY to include links on the menu bar, I'm having problems returning to my HOME PAGE. I cannot find the information to create this option on my toolbar. I would prfer creating specific icons fro common links.

I have used many FTP programs but new user to FireFTP.

FireFTP works pretty good but how do I: (1) Upload a new sub folder and files from my computer to my Web site ? and/or (2) How do I create a new folder on my Web site that I can add files to ?

I have tried everything to update to the latest version but when the option of continuing either as Admin. or user it extracts then doesn't do anything further. If I use the Admin and enter the correct password it shows that either the user name or password are incorrect. If I use the auto update feature it says the update failed and to be sure no other firefox is operating, close and try again.

I work for a company that provides a FTP site for clients to upload files. I would like to give them the instructions on how to have Fire Fox open the site in Windows Explorer so that they can drag and drop the files.

When I sign in to Yahoo mail on the first tab, it works fine. When I open an additional tab, it always asks "please verify your password". In the past, I have always been able to open a new tab and stay signed in. I had to reinstall Win xp and now it always prompts for my password when opening a new tab. I have tried clearing cache, history, cookies and still have the issue. I tried different versions of FF, including FF15 and16 and none work. I have also tried restoring FF to default setting and restarted with add ons disabled. Additionally, I tried setting the network connection to "no proxy". Nothing has worked. Any other suggestions? Thanks. IE and Chrome work fine and I do not have this issue.

I like very much the current "Appearance" of my Firefox. I don't want to update Firefox even though I should, because I'm afraid the "theme" will not be available in the new version.

Are my "fears" reasonable - is it possible for an appearance to stop working in a newer version, or will it just always be there once I've downloaded it?

i often shop on ebay. when shopping i like to select certain brands. about a week ago, when i narrowed my search by brand, a pop up screen came up prompting me to download the page using firefox. it has never done this before. when i hit ok, a second tab opened full of just words

I have Firefox 16.0.1 installed on the hard drive of my desktop. When I run it, some of my bookmarked web pages take a long time to display the first time. To solve this, I have to reload the page once or more to get it to display. In some cases, the displayed page is distorted, and so I have reload it again until it displays right. I've tried doing a number of suggestions on this topic, but nothing solved the problem.

Anyway, I noticed when I run Firefox Portable 16.0.1 from my USB flash drive plugged into my desktop, my bookmarked web sites load quickly the first time and display fine, as well as all other web sites. I like to know the difference between the portable and desktop programs?
