I know how to added a site to the "Exceptions - Cookies" list an block the site. The problem I have is the site just changes the first part of its name/url and adds the cookie to the list. SInce the site is using a 8 digit number; it is impossible to block all the name/url it can create. Is there a way to block all the possible name/url by using a wild card symbol? Like the "*" symbol in UNIX. Example *.xxxx.xxx.com to the list of sites I wish to block?

not to many details except safari runs at 24 mbs download compared at firefox at 10 area... is there something that needs to be tweeked ... I checked around preferences... I don't think its my comp thats the problem after all one is working compared to the other .... Yes i have ran a virus checker . and it came up with nothing.... I am trying to update firefox and thunderbird and seamonkey on my IBM AIX 5.3/7.1 systems.

Trying to find the latest version that works on my system.

Environment:

  IBM pSeries hardware (Power 4 and Power 6) running AIX 5.3 and AIX 7.1.

IBM latest version is 3.6.26. Really need a newer version. Having problems at a number of web sites.

Anyone know where I can find a newer executable binary? Or the latest source with the instruction on how to build firefox on my system using gcc 4.7.2?

The report tab says my OS is Windows NT, but it's actually XP Home. (Yes, that's how old my computer is -- and that's why I'm looking for a solution other than just trying to see how updated a version of Firefox the computer can handle.)

The problem doesn't happen every time I try to search Google (or every time I succeed in getting to a page of search results and try accessing one of them). But it happens quite a lot, and often multiple times in succession. And when I try to use Crash Reporter to tell you, I get one of two responses:

(1) the standard autobot-reply suggesting an upgrade and this path; or, more often, (2) nothing.

I don't want to abandon you -- and it would be hard to replace the computer at the moment. So what (to coin a phrase) can Mozilla do for me?

[UPDATE: The troubleshooter program won't install -- says it's not compatible with my old version of Firefox (3.6.20, says the About option in the Help menu). And the "show details" link at the bottom of this page won't reveal your "educated guesses about [my] current browser and operating system", so I can't do more to correct them -- sorry.]

I have been using my 3.6.28 Firefox for more than 3 years and still want to use it in the future. Some functions are not working when I visit websites so I need to install the newest as to see them. I have Google Chrome as my second browser but would like to swap it for the latest Firefox. Read on some forum that its not possible to have two Firefox browsers on the same Win OS. Is it possible to have both my old Firefox 3 and Firefox 20 installed on the same Win XP OS as teo different programs?

hi everyone...

just as the title said, whenever i load the site lazada.co.id, as soon as it finishes loading, it quickly redirects to pxs.atomex.net within a second. it keeps loading that page and it stucks there. the description in the status bar says "transferring data from pxs.atomex.net..." and it never finishes. i'm using FF 3.6.28 by the way.

but, when i use the latest FF (i.e.: FF 20), this problem doesn't happen. the lazada.co.id site loads the way it should be. as soon as it finishes loading, and the status bar says "done", it stops there without redirecting to pxs.atomex.net. so you see that this is not some malware or virus related issues. and both FFs are set to default settings.

i like using FF 3.6.28 so much. is there a way to fix this without having me to upgrade my browser? is there anything i should change in the about:config to match the settings in the latest FF? please help. thank you.

I just upgraded an old MacBook from 10.4 to 10.6 + updates. I can finally upgrade my Firefox from version 3. But from within Firefox 3 itself I don't seem to have the usual options to check for updates and install them (maybe they weren't invented yet in 2004). So, I downloaded the installer for Firefox 20 "manually" and was about to drag Firefox.app into /Applications, when I had a moment of doubt about simply overwriting the old Firefox.app. I know updates applied from within the program don't clobber preferences and bookmarks, but when that's not possible, is the installer from scratch just as kind? If not, how do I save them to be reimported once I've upgraded Firefox?

The download pop-up window save or cancel. At save the download begins with the download window monitoring the download. When the download is finished the right-click option is not accessible for "open". Double clicking the download does not open it. The file is not saving in the specified "Downloads" folder that I have selected in the options window. I just bought a DVD Decoder downloaded it and now I have to open it or I have to buy it again. I have been using Firefox since you guys started & never had a problem till now. I cannot save any images from any website no matter what the type & it is only happening on Firefox & it started when I upgrade to Ver. 20 which by the way I HATE....I prefer the older version so I loaded that back onto my computer BUT THE PROBLEM IS STILL THERE. It is only happening on FIREFOX cause I downloaded these images using Internet Explorer which actually is easier now to use than your new Ver. 20.......

Anyway if I click on image & then "save as" & tell it where to download....it goes through the process & even shows up in the download window like it has downloaded....but if you click on the download window to see the image...nothing happens.....if you go to the file where you downloaded the image to, the file is NOT there??????? Now like I said this started after it updated to version 20...I now have Version 3.6.8 loaded....cause I do not want this new version 20....I am an old man, I have Windows Vista Ultimate on my desktop.....and I do not like the layout of 20 & it is very hard to do anything....anyway can you TELL ME PLSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS what is going on & why did this all happen & the big thing.....HOW THE HECK DO I FIX IT PLSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.......

Since downloading Firefox 3.6.28, each time I open Firefox I get a message window suggesting I download the latest version of Firefox. I must decline the suggestion before I can proceed. How do I stop the Firefox message window from popping up when I open Firefox? I use Mac OX 10.6.8

When the classmates.com website is called up the page appears as requested but as soon as the transfer of data is complete the page disappears and the Firefox browser, not the system shuts down.

There is a similar problem with the Fedex tracking website. The page appears for less than a second ant then the status indication at the bottom left of the page indicates that the page is stopped.

The link connects to my G drive and it should open up a folder for me to store things on my hard drive. This works on IE although I usually use firefox at home so I changed my browser at work. Can you tell me how to make these links work so that i can use a website online that will connect to my offline folders?

Ironically, I made this support account just to ask this question and had to go to IE to verify. Anyway, Yahoo! Mail use to work almost flawlessly before a couple days ago. Basically, the page loads like normal when I have a good connection except that the ads on the sides are missing, my profile picture is gone, the "fancy" rounded edges of the buttons are nonexistent, none of the menus work or open anything, and all of the links are useless. I have been searching for solutions for two hours now and none of them are relevant or useful: - Clear cookies = when I cleared cookies, cache and history is when the problem first started; - Disable Ghostery = I just learned about it today and so never installed it, but I also checked to make sure it wasn't there somehow; - Start in Safe Mode = the problem is still there and the only change was that it loaded the page faster; - Disable AVG = I can't because I can't find it anywhere...; - Disable Security/Change Permissions? = I think this was a suggested solution, but it already allows Yahoo! Mail to load images and set cookies while blocking pop-ups, location sharing, and installing themes/extensions; - Update Firefox = No. I like my old version. I keep hearing weird and annoying things about updated versions of Firefox, and I'm not going to risk losing everything else just to get Yahoo! Mail back I started using Firefox (3.6.12) because IE was slow, but ever since I tried clearing the cache, cookies and history Firefox has been going slower. Oddly enough, all of my browsing history was not deleted because certain web pages (that I haven't accessed in ages) show up in the address bar when I go to type. Gmail works in Firefox despite saying my browser isn't supported, but Yahoo! never bothers me about my browsers and now its acting strange. By the way, I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but right before Yahoo! Mail took the usability train off a cliff, it reloaded (because clearing the cookies logged me out), then told me the internet connection was slow and that I can switch to Basic for better results. I decided to stick with Classic and then it "crashed". Anyone help with this would be appreciated. One of the reasons I switched to FF is because Yahoo! Yes, I access the web, but not google since this afternoon. What is the matter with fire fox suddenly not accessing google anymore? As this is vital, fire fox is of no use if it cannot google search.

The new firefox 20 is a recommended PC requirement on a p4 and 512mb.. I have an Pentium 4, and ive tested some of the new versions but theyr really shiit compared to 3.6.28 wich im still using.. The new firefox is running 140mb memory more then the one im using in a Game through the web. It annoys me alot, but still ill like to have an upgraded version due to security etc.

Can someone recommend me the best / fastest version for a very slow PC?

Firefox appears to working normally. However during the last two weeks I am getting a crash report everytime I exit Firefox normally. There doesn't appear to be any problem - just thye constant crash reports.

When I am browsing I frequently close my browser to terminate my browsing by clicking on the "X" in the top right-hand corner. The expected result is the browser session is immediately closed.

have come across a large number of sites that capture this and then force me to answer a series of questions while preventing the normal close of the Firefox browser application. Is there any way to cause Firefox to ignore additional instructions when I select the close-button and just close? What I am experiencing is an abuse of how the program was designed to work. I won't elaborate on that unless someone really doesn't understand--I'll just stick to the facts.

I'm running a variety of Firefox on multiple systems, mostly Linux but 2 Windows boxes. I have 1 linux system running Firefox 3.6 and most of the others are on Firefox 19. If more details about version, os, or hw are required please let me know. On all platforms I experience the same issue.
