I believe that I am running the latest version of FireFox (v17.0)

But several sites (PayPal, Facebook, etc.) are telling me that I have an older version and may not run correctly on their site.

What am I missing?

I downloaded version 17 today- -i checked it several times-and tried unpacking it 3 different times--thinking it shorted out somewhere and didn't tell me Facebook has been telling me for weeks that I have an older version of the browser that doesn't support FB and I should upgrade. Tried to add a persona and get this message This Persona requires Firefox 3.6. You are currently using Firefox 3.5.7..

Please help! I can't watch your videos because dial up is so basic. I am home with health problems so going out now to coffee shops, etc not possible. Thank you!

Google+ and Facebook keep telling me I have the wrong version. Here's what "About" says: 16.0.2 Google+ won't allow me in at all. Facebook give me this message: "You may want to upgrade your browser. You're using an old version of Firefox that is no longer supported and may be insecure. To upgrade, open Firefox's Help menu and click Check for Updates..." 2-3 weeks ago, my Task Manager quit showing itself except for a line on the bottom. And once as I was shutting down, I had to end the aforementioned file. My computer gets hung up for short periods occasionally, and sometimes, runs slower.

several times a day, Firefox goes from version 15 to 3.6.

I started Firefox this morning and it was 15

I closed Firefox.

I reopened Firefox and it then told me that there was an update to 3.6??

I closed it and came back later and it was v15 again. Then happens regulary and I am constantly being told that there are updated here and there.

I only have 15 installed. No version 3.6 in Add/Removed programs etc.

This is crazy stuff.

Yesterday, I completely removed all traces of Firefox, I also deleted all Firefox folders.

I reinstalled 15. It worked for the day.

I opened it this morning and 3.6 was back andasking for updates.

Please fix!

Others in my office have similar issues it seems.

All of the sudden my stumble upon has quit working and I'm not sure why. When I try to stumble it says my browser version needs to be updated yet I have done nothing to change anything to make this problem happen. What do I need to do and how do I fix this?

i am using firefox 3.5.1 and cannot upgrade due to compatibilitiy issues for other apps. Is there a solution to getting Firefox to auto authenticate using Windows login credential or ntlm authenticiation method?

I am using VMware 2 on Windows. It only works with Firefox 3.5. I have FF 3.5.8 installed, and I did tell it not to check for possible updates. But it still continues to upgrade itself to FF 3.6.

Not only is it irritating to have to keep uninstalling 3.6 and reinstalling 3.5, but it is also irritating to have a switch that is completely ignored..

So where is the real switch to stop the update? I don't suppose app.update.auto or the other app.update settings in about:config will apply and I didn't see anything in browser: settings.

So how to I stop it upgrading and just run?

I was searching for a solution all over mozilla support and also forums, but couldn't find any. Not even with Google.

I'm using Windows 7 Professional, with a simple Firefox. /not the recent version because a good part of the addons I use does not exist on the level of the recent editions, however fantastic would it be to have them.../

The problem occurs when I try to add an add-on to My Collections. This operation requires a login, but after using my UN and PW it has always been giving me this error message:

"Oops! We had an error. We'll get to fixing that soon. You can try refreshing the page, or head back to the Add-ons homepage. "

The problem never gets fixed - I have been trying to log in since months, but never successfully. The same Oops happens all the time and reloading the page does not solve the problem.

I have tried to create a new account with my email address, just to see I have an account at all. It says that it is in use = it is confirmed, I have an user account :)

Just recently I had my pw reset too, not helping either, I can't access add ons account, same error I get.

Interestingly I'm able to log-in Personas (same username and pw I have there). I thought I might be logged in the add-ons management gui too, if I'm logged in Personas, but that is not the case, the two seems to be working separately.

When I'm on a website that displays video and audio, the two are not in sync with one another. This constantly happens. Whether I'm watching a music video on youtube, or watching a discussion on yahoo finance, the problem is always there. Can someone explain why things are out of sync (video--audio) , and is there something I can do to remedy the issue? Thank you.

Also, the Pizza Pizza website says that I need to upgrade my browser also. I did! But I still can't access their new site because apparently I don't have the newest Firefox. But I do!!!

What more can I do!??!?

My download window used to keep all my downloaded files until I manually cleared them 1 by 1 when I had time to check each individual file. Over the past two months, they have all been disappearing & now I think it is only saving the last forty days. How can i change this back to manual deletion? Now I have no clue what I have downloaded in the past six months ... I would like to get that history back & keep it until I decide to delete it not firefox making that choice for me. Thank you.

I am getting the followinf when going into Gmail

When I go to upgrade to a modern browser it tells me:

All my extensions are disabled. and I want to use firefox gmail and see all my features. What gives?

How do I upgrade from 3.5 without loosing all cookies? I have tried installing 10 and 13 but neither will read existing cookies and will also essentially delete them. (i.e. when I revert back to 3.5 the cookies are gone.)
