So like any good Firefox user, I regularly check my plugins. On today's checkup, here's what I got: http://oi48.tinypic.com/j0ird1.jpg. Note that it is Adobe Acrobat/PDF plugin/whichever that needs updating, and also note the version.

Now, here is the first issue at hand- When I go to the link that the plugin checker provides, it seems to offer an older version, as opposed to the one I have (so again, note the version): http://oi50.tinypic.com/w9bbkz.jpg

The second issue at hand is this: Upon testing my version to see if it worked, not only did the Adobe site say that my version was working, but I was also able to pull up my college class notes/coursework, which are in PDF form. I may not be technically savvy, but I would think that if my Reader/PDF plugin was out of date, I would not be able to pull my PDF-form coursework up. I can also pull up PDFs on other "checker" sites too.

So, in short, everything seems to be up-to-date, but even after restarting my computer, the plugin checker still says I need an update. So, what's going on and how do I fix it?

Using Firefox version 19.0.2 on MAC. Appears message: "Although this page is encrypted, the information you have entered is to be sent over an unencrypted connection and could easily be read by a third party. Are you sure you want to continue sending this information?" In preferences there is no option to choose what warning messages display or not display. Through about:config tried to change security.warn is set to 'false' by default; security.warn_viewing_mixed - too set by default to 'false'.

I just loaded windows 8 onto my system and placed Firefox version 19. as my web browser and went to Youtube and updated flash to the Version it was looking for which in this case is 11.6 r602 and now everywhere that I go on the web the plug in pops up says it fails and locks up my firefox. I have done what the suggestions have said

1. Made sure system was up to date 2. Lowered hardware and flash acceleration 3. changed firefox settings 4. have done numerous re-installs of firefox and flash

when i open firefox an advertising box for value apps appearrs&will not go away by using the usual methods .you can get ridd of it by going to the privacey bar &cancelling the add but every time i come back it reappearss.i just cannot unsubbscribe or canncell.please help . my security cant get ridd of it .it is driving me nuts.

I have a PHP web app that uses FPDF (v1.53) and the FREE3OF9 barcode font to dynamically generate a PDF which includes a barcode in it. The font is imported into the document using the FPDF AddFont method (http://fpdf.org/en/doc/addfont.htm). In versions of Firefox prior to 19, the PDF opened in a new tab, was displayed by the Adobe Acrobat plugin, and the barcode showed up perfectly fine.

Now that Firefox 19.0 is using its own built-in PDF viewer, the barcode no longer displays at all -- there's just a blank spot where it should be. It continues to display fine in IE and Chrome. How I can get the font to display correctly in the newest version of Firefox?

I understand that I can change the Action for the PDF content type to 'Use Adobe Reader' in the options, but I'd prefer to fix this so that my users don't have to change their browser settings. Or at the very least, it would be nice if they could only change the Action for PDFs originating from my site and not globally.

So the latest version of Firefox 19 comes with a built in PDF viewer.

The problem that I found is that this viewer at its present time does NOT show fillable fields ina PDF, or let the user type into these fillable fields, or show the electronic print and instructions buttons we place at the top of most of our PDF "forms".

This form should show buttons at the top and let a user fill it out. It does with the Reader plugin. In FF 19's built in PDF viewer I cant seem to do anything.

We presently make all our PDF forms fillable, so if this is an issue, hopefully a fix or update can be found.

I used "Show package contents" to open Firefox.app, and I see a Firefox icon named "updated". Can I just delete this, or will it also remove Firefox entirely? If so, can I get my old version of Firefox back? Until I can figure out how to not install this update, I won't restart Firefox. Thanks!

I upgraded Firefox 19 and since then can't save any changes in Joomla 2.5.8 ... I'm having no problem in Safari and can't trace the problem to Firefox. I can't find anyone else having this problem in any search so I am truly perplexed.

Only recently have i started to get this error message on youtube videos

"Your browser does not currently recognize any of the video formats available."

Its not all of them but most of them give that to me, its quite annoying that i have to load up chrome just to watch a youtube video.

I downloaded some program from cnet, which used to be a reputable source, but now seems to be riddled with malware. The item I downloaded was not what I thought it was and I promptly removed it from my computer. I also managed to remove snap.do toolbar from all my browsers and my computer with little effort. HOWEVER, I cannot seem to get rid of snap.do. It seems as though it has hijacked the startpage of all my browsers, IE, Chrome,Safari, and Firefox all show snap.do whenever I open them. Of course I can click past this and go to a different page with no trouble. I can reset the homepage in tools-internet options and every time I hit the little house button, I can go back to that homepage. BUT if I turn my browser OFF, when I turn it back on, snap.do is the homepage once more. I have run anti-malware from Kaspersky and Webroot, neither finding anything. I have reset Firefox. I have done a flushDNS through config. I have checked all the settings for the LAN, Internet protocol, and HOSTS folder. I have even reset the router to factory settings. I am at a complete loss. All I want is for my homepage to come up when I open my browser, any browser. Since Firefox is my preferred browser, I am asking you. Every time I try to drag and drop a bookmark into the new tab page, it opens the web page in that tab instead of adding it to the square. I've tried it on safe mode as well with the same results. Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong would be appreciated.

I did nothing wrong yet when re-setting my Sync account, i somehow lost my data. Since then, I've been trying to do all the suggestions but haven't retrieved my data back. I'm sure it must be in your servers but can't access them. Please I desperately need your help!

i am using windows 7 and firefox, when i use gmail to view a message, quite often the back to inbox button will lock up my gmail. also when i try to reply to an email, quite often the dialog box will not let you type. i opened internet explorer and tried gmail there and it worked just fine.

While I'm traveling to abroad some of website became into an alien language and I could not even understand. For example Myspace.com or Msn.com change into Chinese. How do I get back automatically for all website into English? How to make Firefox not always change the language depending where we are? Thanks...
