I'm finding it very confusing that for some reason I have all sorts of backup files for firefox backed up on my USB pen & desktop.

I have no idea if I need to keep all of them, or just one of them, as backup.

Which of the below do i need to keep, and which delete? Thanks.

bookmarks.html (on my USB pen)

FILE FOLDER ENTITLED 00jhkBLAHBLAH.default (on my USB pen)

I need to open a pdf in the firefox broswer, but since I clicked "open in TWINUI", and remember my choice, it doesn't let me open in the broswer anymore. How do I change that preference?

Using bind9 locally. It works for all other sites except www.mozilla.org. Also checked my employer's site and found the same thing.

Is there a problem with mozilla's DNS? It can seem to resolve mozorg.dynect.mozilla.net.

I can't open anything in my Downloads list. I've tried resetting firefox and I've also tried everything in your article "What to do if you can't download or save files" but nothing helps. I tried to upgrade to the latest firefox to see if this helps but once I've hit the Download button, 1 minute later it appears in my downloads list and... same issue... I can't open it to run it! It's like it's crashed, because no amount of clicking on a download will activate anything. It seems like the Downloads list is dead! Also, (and I think this is linked), I cannot save web pages. I go though the motions and it looks like it's doing the right thing but the pages don't save - they just disappear into the ether! I'm on Windows Vista and have been downloading things happily for years, but suddenly this problem has occured and I've run out of ideas now... Please help!

I have been using my 3.6.28 Firefox for more than 3 years and still want to use it in the future. Some functions are not working when I visit websites so I need to install the newest as to see them. I have Google Chrome as my second browser but would like to swap it for the latest Firefox. Read on some forum that its not possible to have two Firefox browsers on the same Win OS. Is it possible to have both my old Firefox 3 and Firefox 20 installed on the same Win XP OS as teo different programs?

I have firefox version 20 32 bit and noticed on java that there is 64 bit browsers and I like firefox so I was hoping there is a 64 bit version of firefox for windows. Also what is the firefox nightly? I dont wana download and install something that I dont know. Thank you for your time.

I am a teacher. Our school uses a program called Skyward for grades, attendance, etc. Skyward wants us to use Firefox. My problem is that after my computer updates I cannot log on to Skyward. I have to reset Firefox in order to gain access to Skyward. I don't know if it's my computer, or Firefox. I would like to solve this problem if I could. I would like to use the latest version of Firefox if I can. Thank you for your help. Jennifer Reid

Every time I shut down and re-start my computer I have to update firefox. This has only happened since my hotmail account was tampered with. I have followed hotmail's instructions for fixing that, but now I'm constantly having to update firefox - daily!

Just OK'ed the v20.0 push upgrade. Tried to download files as I had always done.

Was very surprised by the new interface and process. Frankly, it's a step backward and really leaves alot to be desired.

Is there anyway to change the config back to the download process/interface model of v19.x?

I'm asking this question from a different computer so pay no mind to the details it's giving for my current browser. Sometime in the last week or 2, Firefox is suddenly missing from a test machine at work that only I access. How can it suddenly go missing? There are no shortcuts to it, no program folder, no profiles, nothing in the programs list in the control panel, etc. It's like it was never installed even though I've been using it on that machine for over a year, especially for the SQLite Manager plug-in. When I go to the Mozilla site and click the download button to try to download and install it again, I get a "page cannot be displayed". What is wrong? How can Firefox suddenly be missing as if it never existed, and also I can't even access the download page to download it again. The test machine is a Windows 2008 R2 server. When I tried to ask this question on that computer using Internet Explorer, when I got to the point of signing in or creating a login, it would not proceed. No errors. Nothing. So, here I am on a different computer sending this question. How does Firefox go missing and how can I download it again?

When I click on the + symbol tab at the top of the screen, it does not open up into a new window. This problem occurs on my laptop, but not on my computer at work.

Is there something that needs to be activated?

I did a restore 3 days early no problem with the mail all the lines are there thanks for the help. everything else did not work
