Hi All,

I have followed the instruction on backing up / restoring firefox profile.

But when i do copy everything from the old profile into the new profile whilst firefox is closed and when i do open firefox. Nothing changes, i don't see my bookmarks or anything else. I have tried to delete the new profile and creating another new one but that doesn't help, also tried the troubleshooting information and reset firefox but still no help

Is there something that i am missing?

JSP page submits form through javascript action.submit() by using POST method. its executes java function fine for the first time..after completion of the execution of function, firefox calls the same function second time automatically using GET method which results in thorwing exception. My question is why firefox submits the same form second time using GET method.

My firefox doesn't recognize .docx or .xlsx files. They both come up as the same thing -- a Chrome HTML document. Since it isn't recognized, neither Word nor Excel are drop down options as programs to use to open the file. I have to manually browse and find either Word or Excel each time. If I keep opening excel docs, its ok because the Chrome file "remembers" excel, but if I then open a .docx file, I have to go in a search for Word again. When I go to options to change how an application is opened, its the same thing. I can't find a way to make firefox recognize .docx and .xlsx files as anything but a webpage let alone 2 different types of files. Can I manually add those as features? I tried using add-ons but that didn't work either.

I LOCATED THE PROFILE THAT TRANSFERRED FROM THE OLD XP COMPUTER. I'M NOT COMPUTER LITERATE SO I DON'T RELATE THAT THE FILE HAS NOT PUT THE DATA INTO BOOKMARKS AND PASSWORDS. I DID THIS A FEW WEEKS AGO AND FIREFOX PICKED UP AND DISPLAYED THE INFO WHEN IT FELT LIKE IT! DELL HAD TO DO AN OPERATING SOFTWARE RELOAD AND I'M STARTING ALL OVER AGAIN.

HOW DOES THE DATA GET PICKED UP AND LOADED INTO FIREFOX TO USE IT. WENT FROM XP TO WINDOWS 7/SP1

I may have 4 different Firefox pages open with several tab on each....I got a new computer and now when I shut down at night it doesnt save my tabs.....so I can continue where I left off the day before?

On my Macbook Pro (my OS is OS X 10.6.8), sometimes when I click on a download link, and then click Cancel (meaning I did NOT start the download at all), a .part file appears in my Downloads folder.

However, not all download links cause this problem to happen. Download links for things like MP3s and JPGs rarely cause this to happen, but download links for xls or torrent files will most likely cause this problem.

I've tested it. When I click on a download link for an MP3 file, but didn't click OK or CANCEL, a .part file would appear in my Downloads folder. However, when I hit CANCEL, the .part file goes away.

But when I tried this on a download link for a XLS file, the .part file stays there even after I hit CANCEL. To delete it, I had to drag it to the Trash folder myself and then empty the trash.

So is this a bug? Am I infected with a virus? Does your Mozilla Firefox create a .part file when you click on a download link but not confirm whether you want to download the file? Does the .part file go away after you hit CANCEL?

I am trying to create a new Recovery Key. In Options, Sync, Manage Account, Generate a New Recovery Key, Save ... then when I select Change Recovery Key, I receive an error message that there was a problem generating a new Recovery Key.

When I went to watch Netflix today the watch instantly page did not show right and I couldn't watch anything. However, the selecting DVD side of things showed correctly, it is just the watch instantly that doesn't work. I get a list of everything that is normally on the page, but no link to the videos (there are pictures, but nothing else). I called their support line and their page looked correct to him, so he walked me though some tricks to get my page correct. We cleared the cookies and tried different browsers, restarted my computer and checked my version of Java. It all looked good or didn't fix it. He ran out of tricks to try. He suggested that I contact you to help me. I followed all of the trick on your link about pages don't look right, and they didn't work either. Now I am at a loss and would really like to get this solved. Thanks

I use windows 7 on a Lenovo thinkpad, everything is up to date as far as I can tell. Sophos antivirus.

Every couple of weeks, I get a large popup window that is titled "Software update" with the firefox logo beside it. The message says "It is strongly recommended that you apply this update for Firefox as soon as possible."

The only other thing it says is a link "view more information about this update" and the options to click next, or cancel. No matter what I click, nothing happens, so I always just close the window.

I wish I could attach the image b/c I took a screenshot of it.

What the heck is this and how do I make it stop?

I have Windows, and have clicked the Firefox download button SEVERAL times....then I will click Run. It loads its 60 second thing and then nothing happens after that. I have gone to the support forums and tried all the other websites (ninite etc.) and suggestions for that and nothing works. Please help!

For some reason Google Earth has stopped working in Firefox, and I get a note that I have to download the plug in. (It works fine in Chrome and Safari.)

I followed the 'solution' in the forum without any success.

When I search for "Google Earth Browser plugin" in Finder, I find SEVEN matching that search under "Kind" in Macintosh HD/Library/Internet Plugins . . .but that "Kind" is associated with plugins that are "Named" something else - e.g., Adobe, DivX, Flash, Flip4Mac, etc. (Weird).

When opening sites such as twitter and some other sites the screen goes fuzzy with horizontal black lines. When this happens you can't read the anything on the screen. Other browsers have no problems such as this.

Just redid my XP installation. In past, under hk.yahoo.com (Hong Kong Yahoo, Chinese), I'd get a writing pen next to the search box so I can write Chinese. Now, with the latest Firefox installed, I don't have it anymore. What can I do to get it back? Thanks for any help.

I am trying tot default back to firefox search engine...My Firefox got updated and switched back to crappy AVG search engine I despise...Just need help switching it back I hate AVG's crappy search engine it really sucks

When I go to this site http://www.fcbarcelona.es/ , Mozilla automatically switch that site to English version even though I went to Spanish version, I never had that problem, that site is on my bookmarks and it was always Spanish version, but recently started to switch to english. I don t have this problem when I go to this site using google chrome. Can you tell me why is this happeninig?

Installed, but cannot get Firefox to run. When I try, it crashes. Report contents give adapterdevice id - 0x0a3c and adaptervendorid - 0x10de Have tried to uninstall and reinstall.

I’ve never had this issue until recently. While composing an email, I usually attach my photos to share with friends. As soon as I go to attach my photos, an error message pops up stating that the Yahoo Browser-Plus V.2.9.8 is busy, or not working.

I’ve worked through Firefox’s trouble shooting guide, uninstalled and re-installed Firefox, and have gone to Yahoo site and downloaded the Browser-Plus V.2.9.8. All attempts met with negative results. Please help me out, I’m retired and sharing my adventures with friends through my photography is important to me.

I accidently hit a combination of keys (either shift or Ctrl) and my screen now has a black box around it with SCREEN SIZE options!

How can I revert to normal and what keys did I hit to make this happen in the first place?
