To resolve this POP UP problem in FIRE FOX. 1. Go to HELP. 2. Select trouble shooting information. 3. Reset Fire Fox.

You do not lose your BOOKMARKS. Did not notice anything else that changed except my home page. The only thing I needed to do was reset my home page to my preference.

This appears to be the latest version of Java. Are there any security issues with it?

(As a side note, When I searched your website for information on "Java 7 Version 22", every article on "Java" came up, and it was frustrating to wade through the thousands of articles to try and find one that was relevant.)

Why my browser keeps crashing? once or twice an a hour?

Also it crashes sometimes when i click on a clickable buttons online, or when i type in a form or a post i.e. Facebook, answers.yahoo.com, i use the latest plugins with the exception of a "session manager" because the latest session manager add-ons crashes my browser, i use malwarebyte (not live) and Norton as security

Why is it everytime I upload the newest version of your browser everything goes to shit?

Nothing on the internet works. My e-mail won't fully load, pandora won't work properly, adobe doesn't work properly, I can't access certain websites I try to get onto when applying for jobs, and this gets worse each time you update your software.

I am trying to create a new Recovery Key. In Options, Sync, Manage Account, Generate a New Recovery Key, Save ... then when I select Change Recovery Key, I receive an error message that there was a problem generating a new Recovery Key.

I can't open anything in my Downloads list. I've tried resetting firefox and I've also tried everything in your article "What to do if you can't download or save files" but nothing helps. I tried to upgrade to the latest firefox to see if this helps but once I've hit the Download button, 1 minute later it appears in my downloads list and... same issue... I can't open it to run it! It's like it's crashed, because no amount of clicking on a download will activate anything. It seems like the Downloads list is dead! Also, (and I think this is linked), I cannot save web pages. I go though the motions and it looks like it's doing the right thing but the pages don't save - they just disappear into the ether! I'm on Windows Vista and have been downloading things happily for years, but suddenly this problem has occured and I've run out of ideas now... Please help!

Google, Yahoo, no matter who I search on - the warning pops up! I get no warning using Google Chrome or IE, but I hate those. It also says 'Infection:URL:MAL' and I can find no way to eliminate these warnings.

I installed the FF ver 21 upgrade this morning. Immediately, I am pestered by the Developer Tools panel incessantly opening up, blocking my view and interfering with whatever webpage I have open.

I didn't mess with any Developer Tool settings -- I wouldn't know what to do there anyway.

Judging by the frequent interval with which this interruption is occurring, I strongly suspect that it is linked to another systemwide problem I'm having under Vista, in which the cursor "jumps" at frequent, short intervals. I have not found any solution to the jumping cursor problem.

However, that problem was NOT previously causing the DT window in Firefox to keep opening up unasked.

This is a new problem and it is most definitely coincident with installing the ver. 21 upgrade.

Any suggestions to TURN OFF the DT function, or, anyone know about the weird jumping cursor in Vista?

This app market has taken over my home page. I went to control panel and deleted it there but it has not gone away. Avast is what put it there and I got rid of that trouble thing. any help will be grateful.

I download mp3 files with the Firefox add-on DownloadHelper. Before the most recent Firefox update, I could the mp3 showed up in the download box and I would double-click it and it would automatically open in itunes. Now, the mp3 shows up in the new download bar and I can't open it directly to itunes. Then when I try to "open containing folder" nothing happens. I've tried multiple files, checking for Firefox updates, and restarting my computer.

I downloaded a program and I made sure the check boxes asking to install addons were disabled. Next thing I know I had a snap do toolbar on my firefox home page. I went to control panel and uninstalled the toolbar. now when I try to use firefox i get the snap do search page come on.

While browsing the net, from email to facebook to youtube to forums, I get the same annoying pop up - Goodgame Empire -(http://lp.empire.goodgamestudios.com/?country=us&pid=248&camp=1&gid=12&cid=785514&tid=18668003%A0). A new tab will randomly open every 10-60 seconds, it seems to be triggered by me if I scroll down on a page, or select another tab, or click the address bar etc, but also just randomly as well. So far, while writing this it has opened about 15 new tabs.

I have searched google and haven't found any answers, I'm not a computer guru but I can do basic things. So far, I have deleted my history, cookies etc. Still pops ups. I tried blocking the website, still pops up. I downloaded some add on for firefox and it seemed to fix the problem about a week ago until today it started again, and I can't remember the name of the add-on and I don't know where to find it. I also ran my McAfee antivirus program and Malwarebytes and they found nothing.

I am out of ideas on how to fix this, it is extremely frustrating, please help, and remember I am not a computer genius.

Hi I have upgraded the ff18 to Ver 19 a few days ago and came across this issue/ bug. I have again gone to the beta ver20 as well and it still persists.

Whenever I try to download something in the private browsing mode, none of the downloads (download progress) are shown in the download window I.e. things like 'the % downloaded' and the 'speed' etc even though I know the download is taking place. This was very useful in the old versions of FF.

Any suggestions other than going back to ver18?

even after I restored my content setting, setting my homepage as blank, everytime, after I open a new tab, the new tab just automatically open that website, really annoying. plus, a new toolbar just installed in my firefox without any consent. can't remove it from extension and add-on.

When I disable a toolbar it will be enabled again in a new session of Mozilla Firefox browser. I want to be able to disable a toolbar and have it remain disabled until I choose to enable it, even when I open a new session.

Okay, decided to start this topic anew, since the only response I got to the other one was a post calling me "rude and impatient" (I guess that's what they're calling "persistence" nowadays..) , instead of...well...ignoring my admittedly pushy and harsh tone and actually being helpful. However, for the sake of it, I do apologize for my attitude in my last topic.

But I digress, let's start off on a new foot, eh? On to the problem that is STILL at hand(in other words, "patience" hasn't gotten me jack, not even a "we don't know yet"):

So last night (10 PM January 20th), the Firefox Plugin Checker said that my Java version was outdated. I also got a pop-up saying that my current version of Java at the time (Java 7 update 10) had vulnerabilities. So to try and fix this, I went to the Java page and downloaded the update (Java 7 update 11).

To check and see if my update was working, I went to Java's check page, as well as another page I use. And here I discovered a problem. I got a notification that an old version of Java had been detected, and another prompt to download the current version (which I had already done). As you can see, both pages tell me that I need to install a missing plugin of some sort. So, thinking this would resolve the issue, I clicked the Install Missing Plugin button. So I clicked next to install it.... and got this: http://oi45.tinypic.com/2cici0x.jpg, which I assume means that the plugin did not install. So I pressed Manual Install... and was lead/linked right back to the Java download page (where it all began, and what doesn't seem to be working in the first place)

I go to check my plugins again (Just to make sure and also for extra information), and it appears to say that my Java version is current (is that what "Java Deployment Toolkit 7.0.110.21" is? So...if it is current, why is it not working (i.e. I am unable to play games, DO MY COLLEGE CLASSWORK, or play Java-based games)?

And before anyone says that Java is not essential: It may be that way to you, but I need Java to do classwork for college. Veterinary college.

So, in short, what is going on with Java, and how can I fix it?

EDITEDITEDIT: I Have found that I can do my classwork without Java. HOWEVER, this DOES NOT mean that the problem is solved or over with. I STILL WANT TO KNOW HOW TO FIX THIS PROBLEM AND GET JAVA TO WORK. Even if I never actually need it, I would still like to have a (working!!!) Java version because of two reasons: 1) I would rather have such a program and not need it, than need such a program and not have it, and 2) aesthetics. Sorry to say, but I am very particular about how things look when it comes to my belongings, and the fact that Java is messing up is making me actually stressed. In short, I still want the above issue solved, even if it's just purely for the sake of Peace Of Mind.

Another note: I would (please!) appreciate a timely response on this matter. Even if the response is a "We don't know what the issue is and/or we are working to solve this issue.", that would satisfy me for the time being. I would just like a semi-timely response that would let me know that FF/contributors here have read the above and actually give a semblance of a care about their userbase.

In my download window ,download file is complete.But it can't open,and I press right click when only copy download link,select all,remove from list are work other are not work.

Every time I open firefox, "plugin check" opens. Even after I installed and updated all plugins, the plugin-check appears whenever firefox opens. After updating all the plugins I restarted my pc, reset the browser and checked to make sure that my home page has not been changed the firefox plugin change, disabled all my plugins and even tried blocking the website via HOSTS.

I am fully capable of checking to see if my browser and plugins are up-to-date and I don't appreciate the unnecessary waste of time with this plugin-check running every single time the browser opens. Similar to updates, this should be an OPTIONAL check not FORCED and there should be a simple way to disable it without having the browser open an extra blank tab or requiring the user to edit the about:config to work around it.
