It does it on any site I visit. I have tried clearing my cashe and cookies. It has gotten to the point I can't do anything becasue it stops responding. This started when I had version 3.5 and has continued since I upgraded to the newst version. It is only Firefox and not my other browsers so I don't see how it is my computer. Anything I can do to make it stop and work properly?

The reason mine was doing it was becasue of the add-ons. I deleted them all and only reinstalled AdBlock Plus, no script, request policy, and the video downloader. I have not had a problem since. It was either Mr Tech Toolkit or the personas. :(

I have had firefox for years and within the past week it has crashed unexpectedly a lot, over 45 times now. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it, I have used different themes, I've scanned it with my anti-virus several times, I have changed my add-ons and nothing seems to be working.

Firefox is very slow at startup, and several 'hangs' happens when it's opening the home page. It usually takes around 45 seconds to works fine. I tried everything (new profile, uninstalling) and i'm still having the same problem.

I am attempting to watch an NFL game on channelsurfing.net. I downloaded Firefox successfully but was communicated that I will require vshare plug ins to initiate. I downloaded vshare, but was informed that it was a windows product. What next?

How do I restore my firefox toolbar? It was my main toolbar. My other one is google. And then another site tried to install a toolbar that I did not want. When I unchecked to get rid of it, apparently I unchecked the firefox toolbar by accident. I don't know if that's what happened for sure, but I'm guessing that's what happened.

I am currently running Firefox 3.6.12 on Windows XP on an Acer laptop. Adobe Flash Player won't work through Firefox and sites say: "This plugin has been disabled" or "You need the latest Adobe Flash Player"-- I have updated it every time (changing the player version to "Other Browswers"). Flash has proven to work in the past but I'm not sure why it no longer does.

Also, I get this Error every time I open Firefox. I have to attempt to open Firefox 3 times in order for it to finally open because of this error:

getPlusPlus_Adobe_reg.exe - Application Error The instruction at "0x00000000" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminated the program

Flash is however, working on Internet Explorer. I have tried uninstalling every Flash Player and reinstalling it for Firefox. I've resorted to enabling every video type of player on Firefox in an attempt to get videos and games working...

When I return to my computer, Firefox won't open from the "standby" mode. It gives me the message saying "Firefox is already running, but not responding" and I need to log out or restart. Firefox is not running as far as I know. When I restart, a message comes up asking if I want to close "nsAppShell: Event Window". Once I end this process, it restarts my computer and everything is fine. This is very frustrating and happens all the time. What is "nsAppShell: Event Window"?

I have a site that consistently gives "The connection was reset" every three or four clicks. Refreshing brings the page up fine. Server logs show no errors whatsoever, the hits all show 200 responses with no errors logged by back-end code. This only happens in Firefox. IE, Safari, Opera all work fine.

I've tried clearing cache, cookies, etc.

I've tried reinstalling Firefox.

I've tried reinstalling an older version of Firefox in case it's a recent bug.

I've tried disabling DNS prefetching.

I've tried just about every other remedy I can find on the internet.

Is there any kind of HTML or JavaScript that would cause the browser to throw a fit for no apparent reason?

I recently had to re-install my whole OS (Windows XP Professional) and re-download Firefox (3.6.12). Before this, Firefox not only remembered what folder I wanted something saved to, it also remembered my preference was to save and not open.

Whenever I would download something that couldn't be done by right-clicking (like a zipped video file), the "Save" option was always the choice that was checked. Now, the "Open" option is always checked and no matter how many times I choose save, Firefox just won't remember. I have looked all over "Tools/Options" and can find nothing that seems to relate to this problem.

Is there some setting I can change to get Firefox to always choose "Save" as the default? I do a lot of saving that cannot be done via right-clicking and it's incredibly annoying and time-consuming to have to repeatedly change the setting manually.

A few minutes ago I got a warning from Windows Defender saying that I had a virus. I had removed the virus and when I went on Mozilla FireFox and it said that it couldn't connect because it was either the proxy settings or my Internet Connection. I had just reset my proxy settings on Internet Explorer and it was restored on Mozilla Firefox. I just want to know if there is any way to fix these on Mozilla Firefox. This had happened before because I remember resetting my settings.

I receive 404 error nginx on google whenever I try to access the search page. If I inquire about the problem on another search page it sends me to the google page and I receive the same error. All other web pages can be accessed, but not google or google support. My operating system is Winxp pro.

I removed the Bearshare program via control panel, add/remove programs, but when I log into Firefox, there still is a toolbar which i tried to remove via the tools on firefox but that didn't work. I need every part of this off my computer.

For the past few days I have been unable to close tabs. Clicking the "X" in the right corner of the tab does nothing. I can open new tabs though. It's really annoying. And yes I've restarted it and all that crap.

I downloaded BearShare last week and it changed my homepage to http://search.bearshare.com. Now, I cannot change this. Whenever I go into settings to change it, then save, it will change it until I close my browser and open it again, then it goes right back to http://search.bearshare.com.

Re. Firefox 3.6.12 and Youtube.com:

Searches of Youtube.com using the Web site's search feature are not working, and texts provided with video clips are not expanding. When I click on Search and click on the little icon or button (whatever it's called, downward arrows anyway) to expand the text posted with video clips, nothing happens. This never happened, before, with earlier versions of Firefox; not for me, anyway.

I think this started happening only today, or this week anyway, and also think to have used Youtube since upgrading to Ffx 3.6.12 while being able to expand text with video clips and possibly Youtube searches, but don't precisely recall when Ffx was upgraded to 3.6.12.

However, neither is presently working. There's a problem at one end or the other, now.

Actually, and this is an update to the original post on this problem, I just clicked on the "Like" button at Youtube for a video clip and this also doesn't work.

I sometimes get a blank video player frame saying I need a plug in. FF plug in finder tells me I must manually install Windows Media Player 11. I have done this many times but the plug in never appears in FF.
