I am having issues finding a work around to intall flash on my work laptop.

I did some searching and was able to find the work around below. However, there was no plugins folder and when I tried to create one, I was denied creating a new folder. So, I tried find another work around and some said I can go into Run: %APPDATA% and it will bring me to Firefiox extension, plugins, etc. There was no plugin folder, so I created one and saved it into the plugin folder. It looked like it too, but then when I went to restart Firefox, it kept crashing and running slow. I made sure that I was using the correct DLL. Is there another work around?

If you are a Firefox user and want to use Flash but do not have administrative privileges do the following:

Download the latest version of the Firefox Flash plugin from the adobe website. Your best option is to right-click the download link and select Save As.
Extract the contents of the downloaded file to a folder on the local system. You may need to change the file extension to zip if you have only access to the standard Windows unzipper.
Move the two files NPSWF32.dll (NPSWF64.dll for 64 bit) and flashplayer.xpt into the Firefox plugin directory e.g.: C:\Program Files\Firefox\plugins. The plugin directory is located in the root directory if you are using a portable version of Firefox, if Firefox is installed is is located in the profile folder. Easiest option to find out where the folder is located is to enter about:support in the address bar. This works for Firefox 3.6 and up.
If no Plugins folder exist create the folder and move the two Flash Player files into the folder.
Restart Firefox to make this work and visit http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ to check your flash player version number.
You can now enjoy Flash based contents. Be aware that the plugin is not auto-updating itself. You need to make sure to keep it up to date manually.

For the last few days, I've not been able to access Pirate Bay with Firefox on my Windows XP Pro laptop. I tried on another computer with Internet Explorer and it worked fine. I looked at cookies, I deactivated adblock plus in case that was it, and checked if it was the pop-up blocker. None of those seemed to solve it. I Googled, and apparently Firefox and Chrome have labelled Pirate Bay as a malware site and was wondering if that was why it wouldn't work? If so, how can I change that?

Gave in to the "nag" screen earlier this evening and "upgraded" to Firefox 14.0.1 from 13.0.1

And since then I've had multiple "not responding" problems. Just hangs, repeatedly. Whether I'm doing anything or not. On a variety of websites - planet-f1.com, bbc.co.uk, youtube (seems worst on youtube), facebook... pretty much anything I do. It's even hung on this page once. All I get is the "circle of doom", the "not responding" top of screen, and eventually the "whitewash of death" look.

I've disabled all my add-ons (not that I had many, mainly just adblock and flash) but no avail. Cleared cache and cookies.

Seriously tempted to go back to 13! Any other ideas?

I have not been able to have Firefox load successfully since yesterday. I have uninstalled and re-installed twice, still no luck, I ran a full virus scan and found no issues.

I have been given no crash IDs because it just freezes for minutes on end and then I force quit. I ran a defrag and freed up space on my computer hoping to fix this problem.

I love Firefox, but right now I am running Chrome becuase it is still working and so is IE so I know it is not a computer issue.

I hope this gets solved soon, I would love to get my Firefox up and running again. I can tell I am not the only person with this issue by looking at the forums.

I've never had much problems out of FireFox until the other day when it upgraded to the latest version (14.0.1) When it first opened up it was working.. but when you close the browser and want to open it up again.. it immediately freezes. Rebooting the PC does not even fix this. Firefox still locks up after a reboot. The only way to fix this problem is to uninstall FireFox and reinstall it. And even then, the same thing happens.. it works the first time.. and when you exit out of it completely, the next time you want to open FireFox, it will immediately freeze and the only way out is Ctrl ALT DELETE.

Can someone help me get FireFox to work again please?

Shockwave Flash 11.3.300.271 problem with Firefox 14.0.1

It's more of an annoyance than a problem, but if I enable the Shockwave add-on, the search field in Google (my default start/home page) isn't automatically selected. I have to mouse click in the search field, and then can start typing my search word(s). This was never the case before. When I started Firefox, it would go to my Google start page and the cursor would be in the field and I could just start typing. I know it's a minor annoyance, but having to click the mouse EVERY time I start is unacceptable, especially since it doesn't have to be that way. If I disable shockwave flash, it works as it always has, but then certain videos won't play on various websites.

I have installed Adblock Plus 2.1.1 on Firefox 14.0.1. It works fine for a day or three and then the Adblock Plus icon disappears from the bottom left of my screen and adds reappear. When I look at my Add-ons it would appear that Adblock Plus is still enabled as the "Disable" button is still available. However, if I actually disable and then immediately enable it again all is fine once more for the next day or three. Does anyone know why this is happening? Thanks

I have spent days trying to get Netflix to work on Firefox, and hate Safari, but it works there.. Spent an hour with applecare looking at my computer, and they said that it must be firefox.. I have installed and unenstalled silverlightplugin, (it doesn't show as a plugin on Firefox plugin list, but it is installed in hard drive) I keep getting the message, "Just one minute more to watch movie, download silverlight plugin, I am on a MacBook pro, and am ready to give up Firefox if this cannot be fixed. I have talked to Microsoft, and they don't support macs except for their download that I am all too familiar with!!
