I changed my GMail password and I tried accessing it from Firefox 10.0.3. I got the "This connection is untrusted" message, so I tried to "Add Exception" (I had to install SkipCertError to do this). When I click "Get certificate" and "Confirm Security Exception" on the next window, the window closes and nothing happens. I tried restarting Firefox, and trying to go to GMail again, but I keep getting the untrusted connection, even though I've added the exception. I cannot access any of Google's sites now (Gmail, G+, even Google itself).

After much searching and trying I still can not install extensions globally any more so I have come to you all for help.

I have just upgraded from FF 3.6.28ESR to FF 10.0.3ESR and now can no longer install extensions globally. From reading the forums I understand that this feature is disabled in FF by default now, and can be turned back on, but for some reason I can not get it to work for me.

From what I have read, configuring "extensions.autoDisableScopes" should work, but did not for me. Here is a simplistic breakdown of steps I have taken:

1) I logged in as an administrator.

2) I downloaded and installed "Firefox Setup 10.0.3esr.exe" (it upodated over my old v3.6.28 FF).

3) Using Notepad, I created a file called ""C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\defaults\pref\prefs.js" and placed into the following 2 lines:

pref("extensions.autoDisableScopes", 0);

pref("extensions.enableScopes", 15);

4) I placed the file "noscript-2.3.7.xpi" into "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\extensions".

5) But when opening FF, the "noscript" extension did not even try to install, and the file "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\extensions\noscript-2.3.7.xpi" file still remained in the directory (in FF 3.6.x it would have been converted to a cryptic directory name when it gets installed, so clearly it never tried to install).

Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?

Extra Background: I am using WinXP. For global installation of extensions using FF 3.6.x I simply dropped the "*.xpi" file for the extension into the "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\extensions" directory, and then the extension installed just fine next time FF started. After upgrading to FF 10.0.3ESR this method of global extension installation stopped working.

i have a Samsung 10" tablet but when i go to websites it defaults to the "mobile" version and there is nothing i can do about it. Even when I delete the mobile designation on the end of it. I want the full version other mobile browsers allow me to get the full website

I see that for the issue:

<Add-on> could not be installed because Firefox cannot modify the necessary file.

The usual fixes include: - ensuring that xpinstall.enabled is set to true - ensuring that extensions.alwaysUnpack is set to true

What might be the non-usual fixes as I have set both to true and I still get the message above.

I have tried installing the <add-on> after I have set the values to true, then again after restarting my browser, then again after restarting my computer and finally tried creating a new profile and repeated each of the steps after setting the 2 preferences to true.

Nothing happens when I try to minimize firefox 10.0.3 by clicking the - in the upper right corner. Also if I go to Help-About to check my program version, I can't close that window again. The X doesn't work. The minimizing problem is making me crazy!

The usage is very difficult because of the slowness with which the interface responds to the touch. When scrolling the page, for example, the movement is jerky and does not reach the end. Only when you tap the screen again, the page suddenly move in the correct position. Another problem is related to the touch, like when you want to click. Firefox always react as if you did the long press (context menu on links and images, text selection, etc.). I do not think it is only a performance issue, because the P920 is a phone powerful enough. Pinch-to-zoom works perfectly and smoothly. Sorry for my poor English.

Typing new text erases all previous words with Swiftkey. I was using the Swifykey keyboard succrsfully until I loaded Firefox. Now I can't type whilst using the internet. I want to highlite, and copy specific informational text in a webpage. In Windows I use control-c and control-v after highlighting text. I'm now using Firefox mobile on my android tablet.

Also, no icon is present for Firefox on my desktop screen

A website I use (Walthers, to be specific) NEVER had a 'Remember Me' function. However, Firefox remembered it anyway. I recently changed my P/W; and now I would like Firefox to remember it on my system, but obviously it won't. Is there any way to 'fool' the system to put the website on my machine with the appropriate P/W?

I don't understand how it could have gotten on my system with the correct website, username and p/w otherwise.

The 'Remember Me' function does work for those sites which have one.

Despite adding *.domainname.com to the NTLM list in the relevant config section, we still get prompted for user auth to internal intranet sites using Firefox - is there something else we need to change or a way around this please?

I believe I am seeing this old bug (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=449219) in Firefox ESR v10.0.3. Could this be a regression or new version of the same bug? Or is the ESR build separate from the normal trunk releases and could this bug not have been patched onto the ESR branch?
