I want to have Firefox delete all cookies upon exiting, except for those from specific domains that I designate. Even though I would think this would be a pretty obvious setting to have, I cannot find anyway to do this.

As near as I can tell, the only two options I have within the Firefox privacy settings are to either have all cookies deleted on exit, or none of them. Is there truly no middle ground? Here are my current Firefox settings; if someone could tell me what I need to adjust to get the desired result, I would greatly appreciate it:

Use custom settings for history Always use private browsing mode - unchecked Remember my browsing and download history - checked Remember search and form history - checked

Accept cookies from sites - checked Accept third-party cookies - unchecked Keep until: I close Firefox Clear history when Firefox closes - checked

The 'Exceptions' submenu has several domains set to "Allow" - these are the cookies I would like Firefox to keep on exit.

Settings for clearing History - In this submenu, 'Cookies' is unchecked. While this is unchecked, Firefox will not delete any cookies on exit, even though I have the 'Keep until I close Firefox" option enabled. But if I check this box, Firefox deletes all cookies on exit and ignores my Allowed Exceptions. This seeems to make no sense to me.

There was a Link I found in the Forum that was somewhat like "about:location" or something like it that blocked out being located geographically on Firefox. I lost it in my notes. Does anyone know it? I now have the latest version of Firefox. Is the latest version automatically protected from Geolocation Devices coming in from the outside?

Is there a way to either completely disable this check, or allow a global pass for all websites?

I am aware that I can add individual websites by clicking the icon in the location bar and telling it to always load plugins to that particular site, however for the particular project I am configuring firefox for this is unfortunately not an option - if I can't turn this off I will need to look into other browser options which would be an incredible pain as right now the setup is perfected minus this one point.

I have had a look in the about:permissions page and the only option there for Plugins is 'Allow' or 'Always ask'. I have this set to allow but clearly that the above warning is not influenced by this.

Every time I go to my Youtube account and watch my own videos or others an audio (I guess 3rd party) pop up video loudly interrupts with an ad. I've searched the internet and done all the cache emptying and cookie dumping and I have not added any add-ons and it continues to occur. How do I stop this. It is ruining any enjoyment I get from playing a video.

In the past I have used http://www.google.co.nz as my home page. Once firefox has opened but I want to go to a different site I just edit the start line and change it to whatever I need eg www.fred.co.nz. Now my home page opens to https://www.google.co.nz - when edited it changes to https://www.fred.co.nz which doesn't exist. I could edit out the "s" as well but like everything that is changing on the internet it always seems to require extra keystrokes or mouse clicks and I am getting annoyed with it. Why can't I still have http://www etc as my home page. In other words how do I STOP https: being inserted into my home page as the default ? Quite happy in Options to have the choice to make either available and who knows maybe in the future I might want to change to encrypted (but I doubt it).

So, in 'Options', I've got 'Never Remember History' selected. Sure enough, when I look in the History tab 'Show All History', there is none visible there. HOWEVER, if I right click the 'Go Back One Page' button, all the pages visited are there - and clicking the button cycles back through them. So history IS being remembered even though it is set not to. Why is this? Where is this data coming from, and how do I stop it being stored? Many thanks for any help.

This morning [2013-May29 GMT] when I stared up FF (Mac OSX), a pop-up crept up from the bottom edge of the browser saying 'you've selected for a 2-minute survey. Would you like to contribute?' etc. When I clicked [OK], I was diverted to something like 'SUMO survey' page asking to enter an email address. When I entered my email address I was diverted to FF support page and nothing else happened. I checked my Inbox (& Spam) and there's nothing related to FF survey with matching time stamp. Was this pop-up a malware? Have anyone had the same/similar pop-up seemingly an official FF survey recently? Could anyone confirm this was a genuine or not? Thanks for your help.

The local library web site I use allowed me to save my data and one child's data. When I went to add my other 2 children's data, it will not allow me to save the user names and passwords. I cannot find any information on why this happened or how to get it to save again. I would either like to find a setting to turn this back on for this site or if I could manually enter the data into a file some where. Other sites will still let me save the info. Is this a setting or something their web site has altered?

sync keeps coming up with an error and when I click the appropriate help option it takes my to services.mozilla.org and gives me the "invalid security certificate" page. The technical details box says:

services.mozilla.com uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate is only valid for the following names:

 www.mozilla.com , mozilla.com

(Error code: ssl_error_bad_cert_domain)

This started happening on both my syncd accounts at more or less the same time.

While I imagine it's more-or-less safe to allow this, I'd really prefer not to do this without some confirmation and/or some steps to take to just stop it happening without doing this.
