I inquired directly to Kaspersky, who informed me "we aren't able to keep up with how fast Mozilla Firefox is developing" - or at least is was something very close to that "quote". So, I feel I should not stay with Kaspersky and don't know the best anti-virus provider for Mozilla. I've been using Chrome, but would rather stay with Moz., I like it much better. Thank, liz

The last time Firefox actually saved an html page in the history was May 16th. Firefox will only save pages that I visit that are non-html pages, a page that ends in .pdf, jpg, .doc, etc.

I have tried several times messing around with options - picking don't remember history, then restarting and selecting remember history.

I uninstalled Firefox, but kept personal data. Then I reinstalled. Still didn't work.

I then used the reset FireFox. It only made things worse. Now I can't change the home page.

I'm running Firefox version 21.0 on Windows Vista. Heres what I get when trying to Sync after around 5 tries:

"This Connection is Untrusted

You have asked Firefox to connect

securely to services.mozilla.com, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.

Normally, when you try to connect securely,

sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.

         What Should I Do?

           If you usually connect to

this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue."

I use Gmail to initially get into my browser. My system WILL NOT ask me for my "master password" when I get to that. So I feel that my security there could be compromised even though I use a regular password to get into my gmail account. It's only when I go to open another item, like "Facebook" that I'm prompted for the master password. From my gmail account, I can go into several linked websites, i.e., TV Guide listings, Fox News, my two local news sites, even my weather site. Why are these not affected, but Facebook is? How can I get my Master Password to affect these other links from Gmail so that my system security is not compromised even using Kaspersky Internet Security with Firewall in place.

I have a small Linux based pc running Firefox in kiosk mode. The pc is not connected to the Internet and only has acess to a dedicated server under my control, serving a few webpages and a java applet. Suddenly the system started complaining java my java version is outdated messing up the kiosk display.

- how did firefox figure out the java version is outdated if neither the frond end pc nor the back end server have access to the Internet - is there a way to turn off java security checking in one of the firefox config files? The kiosk pc boots from the network, the firefox profile is automatically generated, so I need a way to change this in the config files, not through the GUI as I won't be there every time the kiosk boots.

I'm running Firefox 13.0.1, I know this is old but security isn't an issue as I'm only accessing my own server and updating the firefox version on the PXE image is a pain.

I have tried going to the firefox tab > history > clear recent history but the option to clear history is greyed out and I can't click it. Similarly, when I go to the privacy options and try to make it where it clears my history upon exiting, that option is also greyed out. I have all my history from January, so not having anything to delete is not the problem. How can I fix this?

I activated the "block pop-up windows" feature in Firefox 21.0's Options/Content menu. When a message appeared telling me that a site's pop-up window had been blocked, I chose to "not display this message" again.

Now I want to turn the "pop-up blocked" message back on. I can find no place in the Options menu or elsewhere to do so. In earlier versions of Firefox, there used to be a "pop-up blocked" icon in the Status bar where I could reactivate the message. Now that the status bar is gone, where do I go to reactivate it?

It might be a little gift left me after I uninstalled another toolbar which installed itself when I downloaded a media player. On most regular sites, unless they have good security, a new tab pops open whenever I click on a link or function. The tab has the name of the site I am on followed by trustedoffer.com. When I return to the page I was on, I can then click that link normally. I have been always closing these tabs before going back to the page. I have tried to find info about it, but have found nothing. I've tried blocking it, but it only works briefly. Avast doesn't seem to notice it either. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox. My concern is that it might be putting me at risk since I have done some online shopping recently. That, and it takes longer to do everything. It is intrusive, and I can't imagine it doesn't serve more than to annoy.

Thank you for any assistance,

K. Higginbottom

All of a sudden I get 288 messages telling me that ...\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\3va5xqqp.default\Cache\*\**\******** is a HIGH THREAT during my weekly AVAST run. THis is the paid for Internet version of Avast and I have not updated it or Firefox recently. The "*" in the code are different directories and files that are unique to each line. So there are 288 variations. Will run a boot time scan now before just deleting these. IF the boot time scan finds them as infected it will clear them out. The browser seems to have no problems. So I am really confused.. Any help will be appreciated. All of the messages are listing firefox as being infected.
