I often need to file pdf documents on legal electronic filing sites. Never had any problem with my PC, now with Mac I can log onto the site, click the corrct folder, but all the documents (word and pdf) are gray and none can be selected. I found a "fix" for one ECF site (I have 4 I need to be able to file on) which requires me to go to Applications and select JNLP file. But JNLP file does not show up in the list of Applications. But I know I have Java on my computer. What can I do? Help!! If I cannot file legal documents I cannot even keep this Mac.

I immediately noticed a significant performance regression after upgrading from 14.0.1 to 15. I've seen various comments on input.mozilla.org but it's now a week after release and the latest firefox planning meeting made no mention of it (https://wiki.mozilla.org/Firefox/Planning/2012-09-05) so I thought I would try here.

The first thing I noticed was slow and jerky scrolling of a web page (the same one I was looking at immediately before the upgrade). I tried restarting in safe mode, and while this improved things somewhat, it was still noticeably worse. I also tried with a clean profile with similar results. It was bad enough that I reinstalled 14.0.1 and everything went back to normal.

Now I'm back in 15 to submit this report and I've noticed that the performance is bad in other places too.

  • scrolling in all web pages, even simple ones
  • scrolling the tab bar is also slow and jerky
  • selecting text is so slow that the highlight lags half a second behind the cursor
  • key repeat is now half the speed of other applications
  • youtube videos drop frames all over the place, and WindowServer is the top CPU user when playing

I'm going to revert to 14 again for the time being but if you want me to try anything in 15 I can do that. I'm a developer but don't have any experience with ff so don't know what to try next.

It was working just fine, but then one day it decided to stop. It ACTS like it's going to download just fine, but when that "download" bar pops up, it waits a moment, then instantly says it's "done" with 0 bytes downloaded. Then nothing pops up on the desktop either. Except once when it said it couldn't play the file.

Trying to login to ebay gives this error with Mac Firefox 15.0.1 OS X 10.7.4 No such problem with the Safari browser

The eBay page or feature you are attempting to access is not responding. Please try the options below:

Try to access the feature directly from the eBay Home Page, instead of using a bookmark.
Wait a few minutes and try to access the feature again.

If you have waited ten to fifteen minutes and you still can't access your page:

I am a professional developer stuck behind a proxy at work. The behavior of that proxy causes SSL connection attempts to retrieve a cert signed by my company, not the web site I attempt to connect to. I have no control over the proxy, so changing this behavior is out of the question.

I need to use Firefox for a number of things and am usually fine adding exceptions for sites I want to connect to. However, certain sites like github.com load resources from many other domains over SSL (CDN, Google Analytics, Gravatar, etc). For those sites I attempt to add exceptions to allow the company-signed cert, but I can only add them for github.com, not all the other sites, so even after adding an exception I am brought right back to the "This Connection is Untrusted" page. No matter how many times I try to grant an exception I never actually get to github.com.

Other browsers on my system are remotely administered and appear to be configured to automatically trust our company signed certs. I need to know how to manually configure Firefox to always trust these certs OR never ever show me the Untrusted Connection dialog and just maybe show red in the address bar when it doesn't trust the site's cert.

I get only a blank screen in Firefox when I click on a PDF web link. I have tried most solutions here: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/cant-view-pdf-web.html Some of the suggested solutions I cannot try. For example, in Adobe Reader Preferences the "view in browser" check mark is greyed out, I cannot deselect it. If I disable the plug-in I can download the PDF when I click a link. Safari has no problems displaying PDFs. Mac OSX Lion, Firefox 12.0

Why does Firefox no longer display .php suffix web pages which are in my Mac?

I have a question about Firefox 14.0.1 displaying .php suffix web page files which are in a Mac running Mountain Lion OS 10.8. In eaarlier versions of Mac OS, for example 10.4.7, I was able to see properly displayed web page files with .html and .php suffixes when those web page files were in my computer. I refer to seeing the page as it should properly display, not seeing the source code. If a page had a .php suffix, the browser displayed the page properly although any php scripts embedded in that page were ignored.

Apple occasionallly updated its OS and browser makers occasionally updated browsers. One day, I noticed that Safari no longer displayed web page files in my Mac if those pages had a .php suffix. However, Firefox and other browsers continued to display web page files with .php suffixes although the embedded php scripts were ignored.

Now, I have Mountain Lion in iMac.

I can no longer see .php suffix web page files in my computer regarless of the browser I use. No browser displays those pages.

A .php suffix web page file which Firefox and other browsers display in 10.4.7 does not display in 10.8 if that web page file is in the computer.

In my computer, I have html and php suffix web page files I want to see using a browser. The files I want to see and the browser both are in my computer. Html files display perfectly with one exception: if php scripts are embedded in the html files, the scripts are ignored. A file the name of which ends with ".php" will not be displayed regardless of whether there is a php script in the file. Safari displays the source code only. Chrome does not display the file at all. Firefox and SeaMonkey, which displayed .php suffix web page files in earlier versions of the Mac OSm now respond to such pages by providing a dialog box which seems to assume that the file is about to be downloaded from the Internet. The dialog box asks me if I want to use the browser to open the file or if I want to save it to disk. The file is on the disk at the time, and the computer is disconnected from the Internet. I click that I want to use the browser to open the file. Then the dialong box reopens with the same question. This happens over and over. I never get to see a web page file in my computer the name of which ends with ".php". With Firefox 14.0.1, I can see .php suffix web pages which are on the Internet or in a 10.4.7 Mac but not in a 10.8 Mac. Did I miconfigure Firefox? It seems unlikely that Firefox lost the ability to display pages in Mac OS 10.8 which it displays in `10.4.7. How can I solve this web page display problem?

I am using firefox on mac with manual proxies and have provided the proxy address and port. I have set the proxy in Firefox->Preferences->Advanced->Network. This proxy requires authentication But firefox does not prompt me for credentials of this proxy. It just throws a page that says "Proxy Authorization Required" and "Description: Authorization is required for access to this proxy"

I have tried the following to no effect. 1) Clearing all the profiles in ~/Library/Profiles folders 2) Clearing profiles.ini file. 3) Setting the proxy along with username and password in System preferences and make firefox use system proxies instead of manual proxies.

Right now I am downloading firefox 13 beta to see if this solves the problem. Any workaround available for FF12.0?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

EDIT:: Tried with FF 13 beta. Same problem
