hello

In startup preferences i set "show tabs from previous session". when firefox starts up, it displays previous pinned tabs but also a new tab (active one) showing the google homepage. is it possible to make firefox startup showing only the pinned tabs, without a new home page tab? version - 20.0 - beta channel scenario: i have a script which opens multiple profiles of firefox (e.g. 1 for mail, 1 for development, 1 for reading). each have their own pinned tabs. when startup each profile, all pinned tabs are loaded but the active tab is a new home page tab (or blank tab).

I'm using the web outlook.com for chatting with my friends. But I found the messages could not be shown normally as they were been before. The messages of ours just list on and on, just got through the bottom of the screen. There is not any scroll bar appeared on the right side. So, I can't find the text box to input any words or see the latest sentences from my friends...

I think it's a compatible problem between the firefox and the outlook.com. Maybe MS update the webpage stealthily, but unfortunately, it could be only solved by the firefox team. My OS is redhat 6, with FF 20.0. Hope you could fix it, thanks a lot!

This problem did not occur in other applications -- only in Firefox.

I reset my profile because of a problem displaying a particular web page.

I am now using the reset profile. Using this profile Firefox does NOT correctly display symbols and diacritic marks in my html pages. Such pages were correctly displayed in my old profile. They are pages containing text in French and Spanish.

Examples: é «

Why aren't the symbols and marks displaying correctly in a brand new profile when they displayed correctly in my old profile.

For the last day or so, I've been unable to open a bookmark in a new tab by right-clicking and selecting Open in a New Tab. All of the proper options show up on the menu, but the entire menu is grayed out and unavailable. This is only true for my bookmarks. If I right-click on a link, the context menu shows up properly and works correctly.

I used to run Ubuntu 12.10 & Aurora 22 on my computer. Recently I've updated my Ubuntu to 13.04 beta, and ever since that happened, every website I try to go to (including Google search and so on...) shows "connecting..." for about 20 seconds before finally showing any content. My connection speed is 20 Mbps and Chrome works fine. Downgrading to Firefox 20.0 didn't solve it. Neither using the "Reset Firefox" feature nor safe mode solved it.

I absolutely love Firefox, been a fan of the browser for years and I'd hate permanently moving to Chrome. Help, please?

How to create a persona header bar that displays correctly in all resolutions - Firefox 20 Linux

I'm in the process of learning how to create Personas for Firefox, and have already created one which I am using locally, but I ran into an unexpected behavior: If I create a header bar that is 3000 X 200 pixels as specified in the guidelines, only the right third or so displays in my browser when the theme is applied. To get this header to display "properly" (as I find aesthetically pleasing) I have to resize the header to 1280 X 85 pixels.

Should not the header bar scale automatically, or do I need to produce a persona header at each possible resolution width to get it to display properly?

For what it's worth, the footer appears to be displaying the left hand third, but this is not so objectionable in this case.

A screenshot of the persona is available at http://www2.netdoor.com/~horus/Persona_2013-04.png.

Thanks for any insights. I feel as though I must be misunderstanding something here.

(I tried to post troubleshooting information the first time, but it overflowed the character limit...)

I use Ubuntu Linux 12.04 and FireFox 20. The addons tab indicated that my java plugin had security issues and was currently blocked. Instructions from Mozilla said to change the Java version, which I did. The old one was 1.7.0.15 and the new one is 1.7.0.17 (aka 7u15 and 7u17 respectively). Being a programmer, I'm using the SDK and have my $JAVA_HOME set to the JRE in the SDK. I then changed the symbolic links in /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins and in /usr/lib/firefox/plugins to point to the new version of libnpjp2.so in my updated JRE. Finally I restarted FireFox... But the addons still show the old plugin!

So where is Firefox looking for the the plugin? Is there a config file that I'm not aware of?

I have Firefox 20.0 (binary package) on Gentoo x86_64

Uncheking "Use system colors" works until Firefox isn't closed, then restarting it's checked again.

Same behaviour setting "browser.display.use_system_colors" as "false" in about:config.

I tried using a completely blank profile (deleting ~/.mozilla) but still same behaviour.

Any ideas?

After upgrading to FF 20.0 some of the icons (not Favicons) to the right of the Search Box on the Navigation toolbar keep disappearing. The icons are Springpad Clipper extension, Evernote, Ghostery, Greasemonkey, Pocket. Each time I start FF some (or all) of them are missing. I tried a "Reset Firefox". The first time after the reset, after syncing, all the icons appeared. The second time (now) the Springpad icon has disappeared.

I would like to keep the google search as it is, in terms of using it as the search engine. I do not wish to change that. I would like to reset or clear the search results from the searchbar however on the startup page at about:home. Is that possible and how could I do this? Is it somethings I need to reset in the about.config file? I have already reset the mstone, setting and the results are still there. Thank you so much, for helping me with this issue.

If crawl is no longer available, is there a page to get similar things to old RSS feeds? Can it be done through FaceBook?
