Firefox from one minute to the next crashed. Everytime I opened it up, it became unresponsive. Never an error message, just a pure freeze. The CPU does not go into overdrive. I did a complete uninstall. Created a new profile. As soon as i closed my session, the problem persisted. Even in safe mode, the application freezes completely within 1-3 seconds. I click on bookmarks; the drop down menu opens; I click on a bookmark; it opens in less than a quarter screen occupying 2 vertical inches on the left side of my screen. I can scroll from the left to right via the task bar at the bottom of this screen but there are no visible icons for simply enlarging this screen. Very annoying!

Cannot move bookmarks wherever I want. They are stuck in alpha order. When I move one it goes back to alpha order. I would like to be able to move them manually in any order.

flash player is not loading videos in youtube and streaming sites saying i dont have the plugin or just black screen. i have updated flash player and down graded it, i have also tried to update firefox but just doesnt update, closes firefox and reloads but the update is still available, 8.0.1 version shown. videos play fine in chrome and IE on my PC, really dont want to uninstall firefox and reinstall due to bookmarks and customised tool bar etc help?!

When I initially activated my Tom Tom GPS (Jan 2012) I did not have a problem using Firefox. About 4-6 weeks ago I attempted to update the device and "My Tom Tom" would not run with Firefox. After literally hours of trying to get it to work, I tried Internet Explorer and the updates ran without a hitch. Today I had the same problem and after a few unsuccessful attempts to use Firefox, switched to IE and had no problems. I am not sure, but I think I updated my Tom Tom device at least once via Firefox and believe the problem developed sometime after April 2012

Before I upgrade to Firefox 10, I would like to know how to disable the "The forward button is now hidden until you navigate back" functionality that was added to Firefox 10. How does one disable that functionality so that the forward button is always shown?

I'm beyond frustrated with this Flash issue. I'm using Windows 7 with a 64bit processor; the computer has two users, myself and the administrator. When the Flash player updated to 11.3, I noticed that I couldn't use Flash in any instance with Firefox, not just videos. I disabled the RealTime plugin on my account and the administrator's account (I have admin access; i.e., I have his password so I can make changes from my account when the dialogue box pops up, or I can log in as him and make changes).

I went to the workaround and downloaded the uninstaller and got the archived 11.202 version.  I was able to uninstall and install the archived version on my account, but when he signs in to his account, Flash doesn't work. I run Firefox on my account and he runs IE 8 on his account. We both have all of our passwords stored in our respective browsers, so me using IE or him using Firefox until this is sorted out is out of the question.  What appears to be happening is when I install the archived 11.202 on my account, it doesn't work for IE 8 on his account but when I sign into the administrator account and uninstall and reinstall the 11.202 it doesn't show up on my account.  Right now, we have reverted to 11.3 so that Flash works for him but I not only cannot see videos, I cannot use any instance of Flash on my account. When is Adobe either going to ship a fix that works with Firefox or barring that, how can I get the archived 11.202 installed so that it works on both accounts, with Firefox and IE8?

Here's a strange problem. I always use Firefox, but of course, still have MSIE on my system. Today, 3 seconds after I log in to my hotmail account, the screen immediately switches itself to espn.go.com without any prompting from me (no clicks by me or mouse movement.) Thought it might be a hotmail problem (like it was hacked), but I don't experience this with MSIE, just Firefox. I ran a couple of deep cleaning virus/malware utilities, then rebooted and tried again. Same problem. Is it a Firefox hack? Anyone have any insight? I use Firefox 8.0.1 and haven't upgraded (don't really want to...actually want to go backwards so that certain add ons will work.)

just recently I am unble to sigh in to bt yahoo ot yahoo via firefox but I can sign in no problems via interent explorer the password on bt & yahoo have been chane to try & correct this problem bt have informed me that it is the firefox browser causing the proble I have been told to reinstall firefox which I have done but this does not make any diffrence a different friend has told me to reinstal a earlier version of fire fox i am tring to sell how to do this but after three day tring to sign into yahoo via firefox i am begining to give up & possible might transferr every thing to internet explorer if i can not use firefox for emails

till Firefox 3.6 (Which I still believe best version till date) had option of duplicate tab when you right click on tab. Now in newer versions they got rid of it.

Firefox, why you keep messing with right click menu? (you had to change order of "open a new tab" )

I've got a problem with the MySpace audio player. When I'm trying to listen to a song, there is a message popping up saying that the Flash cannot be played, it suggests me to refresh/restart browser or upgrade flash . But I'm already using this version of flash and I've got the latest FF. p.s.: IE had no problems.

I have a lot of tabs open in use all the time, and normally things work relatively acceptable (not great since after a while FF always crashes). But recently, when I click on certain tabs, FF becomes immediately non-responsive with the typical system mention about that in the title of the window; CPU is fully busy with FF process.

This happens absolutely every time -- no matter if I restart FF, upgrade it from 8.0.0 to 8.0.1, restart my computer, whatever. The link in the tab which causes the hang is this (works perfectly normal in other browsers):

However, this is not site specific problem, since there is at least one another site with the tab which causes same effect. All other links/tabs on that site and on this ZDNet site work normally in FF, nothing hangs.

The most interesting thing is that if I open this link anew, then new tab is created and no hang happens. But when I try to switch to the old tab with the same link, it always hangs.

I can not close that old tab to fix this problem, since once I click on it, FF does not even redraw the window to show that the chosen tab is now active. It immediately hangs.

Is there way to cure this tab without killing my whole session? It has a lot of tabs I need and opening them all anew is not realistic option.

Not sure if this would be any helpful, but Process Monitor utility only returns "Profiling" activity of FF process when it is hang/fully busy state.

I'm on windows 7 64 bit and when I try to bookmark a site by double clicking on the star icon on the address bar, the bookmark box flickers on and off and just disappears afterwards. I've done some investigation and have found that the default theme is the cause. I have installed a different theme and the problem goes away so that is why I am sure of the root cause. Anyone with any ideas on how to fix this? I like the default theme!

I have many backups from the bookmark and I'd like to mix all of them in one bookmark. I used one then opened the other it removes all the bookmark and only use the last one

I have gotten the "connecting to upgrade server" message for as long as a couple of hours. I've tried starting the upgrade directly from mozilla.org and get the same thing. Currently running Firefox 8.0.1

I recently got a new computer and upgraded to Firefox 8. Now, when I save an image from a website, Firefox will "remember" and, the next time I save an image, open a random folder that I saved an image in last time I was on that site, and choose to save it there. This wouldn't be a problem if, 1) it wasn't a random folder out of the several I save into, and 2), if I have to cancel out of an image for any reason, the next time I go to save (seconds later, without refreshing/leaving a page), it will have chosen another random folder for me to save in and I'm misplacing my files.

I'd like to return Firefox to the previous image saving habits, where I have to choose the folder each time, and it doesn't "remember" anything that I've done, as it is only causing headaches.

At the right of the last tab, there was a cross (x). If I wanted a new web site opened while keeping the one I was in, I clicked on this and it opened a new page and I could go to other sites of my choice. The cross is no longer there, and I cannot find out how to open a new tab, and go to a new web site.
