I want to be able to access my Bookmarks from the start menu as I was able to access my favorites when I used IE. Is there any way to do this? It doesn't work to use the XMarks and synchronize the two - as I have been using Chrome for a long time - and my Bookmarks are complete within it.

I have already tried coping and pasting. I am so frustrated with this - I am ready to change back and I would hate to do this considering how much I like y'alls browser!

I've been a Firefox user since before the beginning. I used the original Netscape 1.0.

Tonight I did one thing: add my Android Tablet browser to sync.

IT IMMEDIATELY ERASED ALL MY GODDAMN BOOKMARKS!

I realize that sync is not a form of backup but the one thing it should NEVER do is ERASE anything.

I've had it with this piece of crap browser. It has been steadily going downhill for a long time and I'm fed up with it. This is the last straw. It's not like there aren't alternatives.

I have some bookmarks pinned to the taskbar. They show the URL of the link, not the name of the bookmark. For example; in my bookmarks dropdown menu I have a bookmark named 'hotmail', but when I pin it to the Firefox icon in the task bar it shows up as https://login.live.com.....

How do I rename it or get it to show the same name as in the dropdown menu?

You know what I mean. Right click the effing thing and type in the name.

It's bad enough you rearranged the order into an alphabetical garbled up mess when I imported from IE8 today but now trying to clean them up and sort into folders is made way more painful than necessary because Firefox doesn't follow the intuitive naming convention of allowing me to right click the bookmark to rename it. Come ON. I shouldn't have to search the database, find ONE thread with a long drawn out conversation on what MIGHT be a solution.

I know there's a reason people choose to use Firefox but, let me guess, this isn't one of them. Just make it work folks.

I would like to have a series of bookmark categories in the bookmarks toolbar. Let's say one button called "Household" might have as a drop down menu links to my favorite sites for " Home Repair," "Cooking," "Furniture Refinishing" , etc.

And perhaps another button could be labeled "Science" and its dropdown might contain links to "Environment," "Medicine," "Space," "Geology," Etc.

And to be really neat, each subcategory could have subcategories under them.

I synced my desktop firefox to my laptop. I haven't updated the sync to the laptop in awhile. The sync has put all my old bookmarks on my desktop instead of the new ones on my laptop is there anyway I can undo this?

from homepage, I can access a bookmarked site...but when I try to switch from that site (any bookmarked site) to my Hotmail bookmarked site (which is my homepage site), it always "times out" and doesn't complete the connection back...this did not used to be a problem. Restoring my computer to a previous time when it still functioned as desired, does not solve the problem, either...

I added a bookmark which would not add properly. It left a (no title) bookmark in Unsorted Bookmarks. It would delete.

I renamed it in an attempt to remove it and somehow it now shows in Bookmarks Menu (see attached screenshots) but will not rename delete.

Any ideas on how to delete?

I had my bookmarks toolbar enabled (View - Toolbars - Bookmarks Toolbar). Yesterday, the toolbar disappeared. On the View-Toolbars menu, Bookmarks Toolbar was still selected. I unselected it and the toolbar appeared. Although now, Bookmarks Toolbar on the menu was unselected. Next time I started Firefox, the toolbar was gone again. I selected it from the menu and it reappeared. But next time I started it, it was gone again and Bookmarks Toolbar on the menu was showing as selected.

How do I fix this?

Firefox 20.0.1 on XP SP3

I want to edit the text of the URL in a bookmark. When I manually enter the URL in the Firefox address bar, the website instantly takes me to the secure login page, but it remembers the URL by which I entered. I cannot "bookmark this page" because then I get only the login page, and in future visits the website will have no idea which of the various URLs I was requesting. So, I want to create individual bookmarks for each of my frequently-used URLs, even though they must all route me through the same secure login page.

I have a Mac Desktop running 10.7.5 and am trying to import bookmarks from Firefox on an older Mac running 10.3.9. I exported the bookmarks file to an html file successfully and copied that file to the new Mac. Following the suggestion from Firefox help, I then tried to import those bookmarks from the html file but when I went to the bookmarks toolbar, there is no import option of any kind shown to take the next step. What is wrong?

I'm trying to export my bookmarks to an html file, but I can't get to the bookmarks library screen where it shows the import export option. My toolbars don't show the bookmarks icon and when I try to add it, it continues to be hidden. I tried to reset the the toolbars to the default settings, but when I hit done, it reverts back to the same view. Any help would be appreciated.

I have many web links AND folders with numerous web links in bookmarks. I want to place a shortcut on my desktop screen to a FOLDER that is in my bookmarks that will have all those existing web links.

My Imac is version 10.8 snow leopard. I tried to import bookmarks from Safari to Firefox but import data from another browser is greyed out, even though private browsing is turned off. I also created an .html file for my bookmarks no problem but when I import this file to firefox, no bookmarks appear. I checked the file in a plain text editor for any folded files but none existed. Can anyone help me solve this problem. It seems the easiest solution would be if the IMPORT DATA FROM ANOTHER BROWSER button was functional. thanks.

just now, i have converted my PC from XP-SP3-32bit to W7-SP1-64bit. Used FF for a long time, all updated to 20.x. Before coverting to W7-64bit, I made an <export to html> of the existing bookmarks of FF - the file was properly exported, and could locate it in the respective folder on the HD. Then, when setting up the W7 64bit, I wanted the bookmarks back into FF20.x (same rev. as under 32bit), but an <import from html> failed, even though the file was seen by the system prior to the attempt to import. <import from another browser> failed as well, quite obviously...

any advice ??

Sometimes when clicking on a Live Bookmark, a transparent outline drops down instead of the normal stories. I've included a link to a picture of the problem. This happens about 50% of the time when clicking on the Live Bookmark. My only work around is to keep clicking the LIve Bookmark until it shows up normal again. I recently downloaded Aurora to see if that would fix the issue, but it did not. Before I was using the beta version of 19.

If I search for "Shell", e.g., and then click on the "name" column, most "Results" are duplicated. E.g., "Perdido | About Shell" in the "Shell" Parent Folder is shown twice ... same URL et al. I can see that Bookmarks added on or after 02-01-2013 are NOT duplicated.
