Is there a trusted ftp site where I can download the current version? I've even tried to download the beta version. the installer loads an runs, but the connection is always reset.

I had Java 7 update 10, which has the 0-day exploit. Oracle released Java 7 update 11. I installed that and uninstalled Java 7 update 10. Now I can't get Firefox to recognize Java. It tells me that Java needs to be installed, but when I try to install the plug in (Java has been installed twice now), it fails. Now I have no Java.
Why does Firefox give me warnings on certain websited that the connection is untrusted, because the certificate has expired?
This happens on mozilla.com too, so it's a tad strange. Other major sites ask me to confirm an exception. Sites like softpedia, microsoft etc.

I tried to check my plug-ins, and tried to update Silverlight, but again got a message that I didn't meet system requirements. Very frustrating!! Firefox is not responding to scroll requests sent by my Lenovo USB optical mouse via the Scrollpoint. (FYI the Scrollpoint functions pretty much like the Trackpoint on a Thinkpad keyboard, giving it 360 degree scrolling much more fluidly than any wheel on an ordinary wheel mouse.) The Scrollpoint commands are recognized quite well in just about every other program I use, including word processors, email programs, and especially other browsers such as Opera. I have, in fact, switched to Opera as my main browser until this feature issue is resolved in Firefox. Thank you for your support.

Page Setup merely changes the topmost title line and freezes the screen except for the ability to close the page and return to the page from which Page Setup was invoked. Print Preview presents a monochrome grey page with the normal menu features that are normally responsive except for the Page Setup function. Print prints a blank page always. Noticed the problems with Firefox versions 10 and 11 and 12 beta, with XP Pro SP2 x64. Firefox version 11 does not have these problems with Windows 7 ult x64.
