My sync key used to be 12 characters, no dashes (xxxxxxxxxxxx). After uninstalling and reinstalling FF 3.6.13, Sync 1.6.1 refuses my 12 character sync key. I discovered, that sync keys for all users have been switched to 31 characters including 5 dashes (x-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx). How do I get the new sync key? I have no PCs connected to Firefox Sync anymore but Firefox Home and 360 Browser on my iPhone sync successfully. Unfortunately on the iPhone I cannot display the currently used sync key. Is there a way to convert the old sync key to the new one? I need the bookmarks saved in my Sync account. Thanks for your help!

I've installed Firefox sync on a new netbook running Ubuntu and it worked at first, it synced my bookmarks from my PC to the netbook with no problems.

However yesterday it decided to sync the original bookmarks on the netbook with my PC and now I've lost all of my original 100+ bookmarks, they still appear in the URL bar when I type in the keywords for a particular bookmark but not in the bookmarks menu.

How can I stop Firefox sync from repressing my actual bookmarks? How can I return the situation to how it was before using this addon?

Hello! I already use Firefox Sync, after few days ago i face sync problem. Every time Firefox Sync display "Sync encountered an error while syncing: Unknown error. Sync will automatically retry this action". So why is that and how do i fix it. How do i ensure that Firefox Sync properly work.

I downloaded Firefox for my new android phone and wanted to sync my desktop with the mobile app. When I first went in it said I had an account already set up, but since I didn't remember any of the information about it I just ended up changing the password so I could login, and then deleted the whole account.

I went ahead and set up a new sync account, but it never gave me a recovery key. I didn't think anything of it, but then the initial sync failed and I got an error message saying the username or password was incorrect.

This happened twice and each time I went back and either ended up resetting the password or deleting the whole account. But whenever I did go through the steps of creating another account it still never gave me a recovery key.

I looked around and tried following the steps to get a recovery key, but I don't have the option to manage my account (maybe because one was never fully created and never went through an initial sync?), and I keep getting an error message saying the username and password is incorrect whenever I try to go through the steps to reset the recovery key. This is despite the fact that I can login with those same credentials on the Firefox sync webpage - for whatever reason it just doesn't accept them in the normal browser sync tab.

I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium, and version 13.0.1 of Firefox. Any help you can give me would be most appreciated as this has been driving me nuts for the last several hours as I try to work through this.

i follow the following steps for resetting the password for ...@gmail.com, but i never receive an email from Firefox Sync either in my inbox or spam folder in ...@gmail.com

1. Click Forget my password 2. Enter "...@gmail.com" as username 3. Complete captcha which results in a confirmation page.

Just upgraded to Firefox 8 from 3.6, after getting a message that 3 wouldn't be supported much longer. I though Sync was a Mozilla extension, so I'm surprised it's not compatible with version 8. Is this a temporary situation, or do I need to go back to an earlier version. Thanks. Daniel

In android,Sync is not working. I've paired successfully my device but then every time I try to sync IIreceive the message "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly" I've checked the sync servers and they are fine. IIonly have this version (the latest) of Firefox in my phone. Previous version was working, and beta and nightly weren't working neither. Thanks.

Whenever I try to install Firefox Sync, it tells me "You are currently using Firefox 3.0.13," won't install, and suggests that I upgrade. However, I'm using Firefox 3.6.10, so I don't know how to resolve this. (Yes I tried downloading and installing the upgrade... this is still the result.) Any ideas?

i set up the original account in my new installation of windows 7. I am trying to import bookmarks and settings from my old xp installation. both installations of firefox are 32-bit. I am running a dual boot system. I can't seem to get my windows 7 installation to import the settings off of the sync. Why not? Can the primary computer pull the synch from the secondary?

I want to use FireFox Sync but I have a BlackBerry Curve phone (9630). I know that the BB operating system is Research in Motion Limited aka RIM. I want to know if this software (Sync) will work with my BlackBerry device. Thank you

I work either on my desktop PC or on my notebook. The latest Firefox is installed on both computers (FF10.0)

(1) I am not sure whether I have to start sync manually (tools/sync now) or if this is taken care of automatically on an ongoing basis.

(2) In any case, how do I know when sync has been completed successfully and it's safe to close the browser.

I just don't want to find myself on the road with my latest password updates or bookmarks missing.

I don't see any status info about the sync process. This is very disturbing and not exactly implying trust.

Mi problema es que formatie el computador en que cree mi cuenta de Firefox Sync. Lo que no sé es cómo funciona, lo que entiendo es que a través de uno principal se sincronizan los demás, pero si yo hago los cambios en otro computador que esté sincronizado ¿ los cambios se realizan? o ¿sólo si los cambios lo hago en el principal?

PD: Tampoco sé cuando se termina de sincronizar

When I set up Sync using my sync key (via the "Set Up Sync..." option in the Firefox 5 menu), everything works fine and all of my data is synced. However, when I close my browser and re-open it, the "Set Up Sync..." now reappears and the browser is no-longer synced.

Any ideas?

Firefox Sync is up and running on my four computers. Sometimes a new bookmark on one machine registers on one of the others within a few minutes, sometimes not.

Tools contains a "Sync Now" function, but there's nothing to explain what it's supposed to do. Does it upload bookmarks from the device I'm currently working on to the Mozilla server? Does it download from the server to whichever device I'm working on? Do I have to use it at all--or will syncing happen automatically? How long does it take to complete?

It would be helpful to have some instructions somewhere explaining when and how to use "Sync Now," and what to expect when I do.

I don't recall setting up sync acct. But am not computer savvy (can get by). Was checking out Sync and discovered that an acct is set up, but not with my email. My friend has used my computer, and I don't know if she meant to do it, but now acct. is under her email, and I would like to change this, but am afraid of deleting all data, and making a mess of something already messed up.

I cannot sync my Firefox 18 desktop with iPad or iPhone browsers. I have tried everything suggested on the Web and have tried safe mode as well. When I enter the three-line synch code, I get a sync failure. I have deleted my account and then set up a new account without success. Manage Account does not appear in the options sync tab. How do I manage my account to get the recovery key?

I’ve spent hours on this and am considering using Chrome as my regular browser since I have no trouble syncing Chrome with apps. Help appreciated.
