I hate getting pop-ups, videos and adverts in my face as well as eating up my monthly broadband quota as I surf the web looking for information, so in FireFox I had set about:config -> plugins.click_to_play = true

That was working fine until recently. Now I see youtube somehow started bypass this setting of mine and shove the video at me anyway in spite of the message that it needs a plugin!

I note youtube equally bypass the 'ActiveX Filtering' in Internet Explorer 10. IMO there is no point having these options and settings if unscrupulous site operators can bypass them.

I presume youtube are abusing HTML 5 capabilities to achieve this effect and so I want to know if we can still disable active content or are going to be completely at the mercy of every site we visit in the future. :(

I have the latest Firefox (18.0.2) on Mac 10.7.5. A few days ago I updated it with the latest Java (7_13) because we use some software in my company that requires it.

Before the update, Firefox blocked two pop-up ads on my company's web site (www.lawtechnologynews.com).

After the update, the pop-ups are no longer blocked. I made sure the pop-up blocker is still enabled and that our domains are not excepted.

Any ideas?

The question above summarizes the problem. Firefox tries to do a www.datasrvrs.com redirection every few minutes. I will go back to IE if FireFox continues to do this annoying thing.

I've forgotten my password. I requested a link to reset it and was told that one was being sent to the email address Firefox has on file for me, but nothing arrived either in my inbox or my spam filter. I had to come up with another account to ask this question, but I'd really like my old account back, if possible.

I'm using Windows7 and Firefox 19.0.2.

I have a page that is served from a local apache httpd. On it I have an iframe with some content served from an external http source.

Nightly does not show it. I can tell it to show the iframe content by choosing "Disable Protection on This Page". Alas after a refresh (F5) the blocking is active again.

Please supply an option set an exception to "This Page" permanently.

i reset my mozilla firefox . as i was having problems watching videos before resetting i downloaded mozilla but it had the same problem so i reset it. the problem is after this new windos are opening in my default browser like shaadi.com etc... they annoy me a lot

 please help to stop those windows from popping

On the website I click in the login box to enter details I can not enter anything. As if the login box isn't active, I have used Internet Explorer with out any problems with this site.

It is very useful and secure to disable JavaScript and Flash when not needed them. But sometimes they must be used.

It is too frustrating to enable/disable JS via menu and No-Script addon is not very handy. It would be better if there were toggle buttom for enable/disable JavaScript. Needed also for Flash. Could you implement this simple feature for next update.

Also: Ealier it was possible to navigate horizontally rss-bottons and tabs by arrow buttons. Later this feature has been removed. Could you retrieve it.

I mistakenly clicked the "Don't show this option again" choice in the "Firefox prevented this page from opening in a new window or tab," and now I can't figure out how to "uncheck" the box and get the option window back again.

So this problem came up a day or two ago and my computer isn't the only one affected by this.

Embedded youtube videos show up as just a black box. I can still watch videos on youtube itself though.

I can watch embedded twitch.tv streams however I can not watch them on twitch.tv itself.

On some forums I visit if someone has a spoiler tag and I click to open it it just forces me to the top of the page and does nothing to open the spoiler.

On Target.com none of the products show up and if I try to narrow results (that don't exist) on the left side nothing happens you just get forced to the top of the page like the spoiler tag issue.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling java, firefox, quicktime, and flash. I've tried running firefox in safe mode. I've tried just disabling adblock and noscript. I've tried leaving adblock and noscript on but allowing all scripts and popups. I've made sure all my plugins are up to date. I've cleared my cookies and cache. I'm sure I've tried some other stuff I can't even remember at this point. Again this isn't only an issue on my computer, it's also an issue on 2 laptops, one running FF 20.0, my desktop and the other are running FF 20.0.1.

(I've taken screenshots of all the issues in question along with the updated plug ins but I'm not seeing where to add them.)

I keep getting an "Untrusted" connection even though the certificates are available and have been able to connect to this page in the past.

I don't have this problem with OPERA or IE8.

When I type a password into a web page, the display shows circles instead of the typed characters. This seems to be an industry standard. How can I disable this feature so I can see the characters I have typed?

seems to be some adware/malware that captures where I go on the net. it slows down page loading significantly. Every time I click a link or renew a page it shows in the lower left hand corner ("connecting i.simpli.fi").

How can I get rid of it?

I am running firefox 21.0.

I have received the "Firefox has prevented this page from redirecting to another page." message and have clicked on ALLOW. I now understand that was a mistake and I want future attempts by this page to redirect to be BLOCKED. I have tried removing all cookies but that doesn't do it. Any suggestions?

I want to start using the 'Master Password' feature. There are a couple of hundred 'stored' passwords in the Options-Security-Saved Passwords tab so I'm wondering if it would be best to delete ALL of these before setting up a Master Password. I will be changing and deleting several of the 'stored' passwords anyway. But my main question is whether or not the 'Master Password' would encrypt All of the existing 'stored' passwords and what if they have already been comprised by surfing anyway??
