I regretfully installed iLivid and have had the problem many others have experienced with the irritating searchqu. I have followed the many helpful threads on Firefox Help and through disabling add-ons, using add/remove programs etc, I have manged to just about get rid of it. One annoying aspect remains. On my Firefox page, next to the usual web address field, is another search box that is pre-filled with 'iLivid Web Search'.

Does anyone know what specific part of the removal process will get rid of this? Thanks.

Babylon has added itself to my Firefox browser as a search engine. So if I type a search term in the URL window, Babylon comes up. I know it is a tracking device and it 'found' me when I used their site for translation. BIG mistake! I have uninstalled it, removed then reinstalled FF and it still is there. How do I get rid of it?

I can still watch them on IE, but not Firefox. I tried resetting, uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox to no avail. I prefer Firefox, but not like this. Thank you

My homepage in Firefox has been hijacked by www.findamo.com. Re-setting the homepage does not work. Avast, CCcleaner, Spybot and DDSKill cannot detect it as malware. It is caused by a plugin called bPortectorForWindows. It puts many java scripts on the system. The executable and dll are found in the C:\Documents And Settings\All Users\Application Data\bProtectorForWindows folder. The exe file can be removed but the dll and .settings file cannot be removed as you are informed that they are being used by another user. An entry is also found in Scheduled tasks which runs every minute called bprotect which executes se.exe from the system32 folder of Windows. The exe file can be removed and the scheduled task can be removed. After re-starting the system everything except the scheduled task has been re-created and the home page remains as www.findamo.com. I have tried stopping each running service and deleting bprotect.dll and bprotect.settings but to no avail. I have even tried to install Recovery Console from the XP CD to allow me to delete these files but I get a blue screen crash saying that either a virus is present on the HDD or it is corrupt. Running CHKDSK /F proves that the HDD is not corrupted. All plugins have been removed but the problem persists. IE8 had the same problem but it has an option to stop software from changing the desired homepage and this solved the problem for IE8 once this option was set.

Running OS X Lion 10.7.1 Mac mini early 2009, 4GB RAM. No other problems except both Firefox and Chrome are incredibly slow opening web pages when compared to the same two browsers in Windows or to Safari in OS X.

This happens whether other applications are running or not. Internet speed has not changed (tested 6 Mbps), not using proxies, etc. Yes, I did test after Quitting all other apps. It makes no difference.

Firefox notifies me that I'm not running the latest version (I have 3.6.24 GTB7.1) and to download the version compatible with my older system (Mac Tiger 10.4.11). I click on that link and can find nothing that states what systems the version(s) there are compatible with. I have in the past downloaded and installed an incompatible version, a situation to avoid for obvious reasons.

After installing the newest version of Flash Player, on most YouTube videos I try to play the message, "An error occurred. Please try again later." comes up. Also, on websites like Tumblr other media, like audio and videos uploaded there, don't play at all - it's just a blank white space where it should be. This all works fine in Chrome. I've tried everything I can think of - I cleared the cache and removed cookies, updated all plug-ins, uninstalled and reinstalled both Flash and Firefox, disabled Ad-Block, ran it in Safe Mode and private browsing, restarted my laptop a couple of times - but none of it worked.

I recently updated to Firefox 15.0.1, and I'm having a lot of trouble with it constantly freezing. This doesn't happen on any one website and is very random in occurrence. I have already tried running in safe mode and updated flash, and I'm still having the problem. After a few seconds, it may start responding again however, most of the time it continues to hang. In order to close Firefox when this happens, I have to open task manager and end the process because nothing in the browser responds. This has become very annoying, and I would appreciate any help I can get to solve the issue. Thanks!

UPDATE: I've noticed that the freezing seems to happen every time I check my email (Yahoo & Gmail), and when I'm on Pandora. It still occurs randomly at other times, but I noticed it's very consistent with these sites.

I'm getting the above message when I start FF6. Didn't have it when I first downloaded. I was renewing my First Mailwasher subscription when I first encountered it. I deleted FF6 and reloaded but this did not correct the problem. FF6 works fine after the error message. On sites with aggressive pop-ups I get the error message and when I go ok to clear the message the pop-up loads minimized. All other computer functions appear ok.
