Firefox repeatedly crashes, even in safe mode. I can not type anything, it immediately crashes upon opening. I have tried uninstalling twice with AppCleaner, have gone through several forums and troubleshooting steps, and nothing seems to work. I have listed a few of the Crash IDs below, I actually have many more crash reports aside from these, but I was not able to type them all in. Everything else on my mac works except this. I have been having to use Google Chrome browser, which works fine, but I prefer Firefox. Please help, thank you in advance.

Netflix movies play using Safari, but not Firefox. Using Firefox 15.0.1, Mac OS 10.7.5, and Sliverlight 5.1.10411.0, when I try to play a Netflix movie, it ask me to download Silverlight again. After doing so, it still does not play movie and asks for Silverlight download again.

The computer can be sitting idle or opening a simple business e-mail and it just crashes for no reason. I do not surf the internet or go places other than business sites. This is a well and correctly maintained computer hoping there is a simple known solution.

When I try to read a page with Adobe Reader I get the following message:

Adobe Reader cannot show documents in this browser.

Why is that ? It occurer a short period ago, and prior to that I have had no problem. I have no problem when I use Safari - but normally I prefer Firefox. So, please help me - and tell me what to do. Thanks in advance.

I have used the Firefox troubleshooting guides, no good. The Java patch is enabled and shows when I check applications. However when I run Firefox plugins it still shows the java plug in is outdated and need to be updated immediately.

I made the mistake of clicking "check for updates" because it instead downloaded the update. I have my settings set to "check for updates but let me choose whether to install them" but the "Check for Updates" button does not allow me to choose... they're downloaded immediately.

This is a serious violation of my trust in Firefox and I will not allow these updates to be installed. If I can't stop them... I will uninstall Firefox and wash my hands of Mozilla permanently.

Firefox 14.0.1 Mac OS X 10.7.5

I always run Firefox in private browsing mode. Normally I don't accept cookies, but turn on the 'Accept cookies from sites' when necessary. Until recently when I've selected 'Accept cookies from sites', cookies have shown up in the 'cookies list'. Now they don't. As far as I can tell, I'm not doing anything differently. Resetting Firefox makes no difference.

After the upgrade when I download a file the download window appears (as set in the Preferences) but the file being downloaded does not get listed, the download window is ALWAYS empty, no matter how many items are downloaded - basically there is no history. When downloading something it appears in a flash in the downloads window then once it's downloaded the window is empty again.

I get this error message when I try to install Firefox 10.0 on Mac OS X 10.7:

"The operation can’t be completed because some items had to be skipped. For each item, choose File > Get Info, make sure “Locked” is deselected, and then check the Sharing & Permissions section. When you are sure the items are unlocked and not designated as Read Only or No Access, try again."

No item list is displayed for me to check. Where do I find this? The installation also corrupted my previously installed version of Firefox.

When my 'update firefox' message comes up the bar shows download happening but then just hangs showing the little blue bars - if left can go on for days with nothing actually happening.

The new version of Adobe Flash works in Safari. Apple thought the older version of Adobe Flash had security compromises, so Mac users can no longer use the older versions of Adobe Flash. Some setting in Firefox is not letting the update to the latest version of Adobe Flash work.

I attempted to install a media player the other day and it was crap and I started to feel sketchy about it, so I uninstalled it completely from my computer. But when returning to firefox I noticed that three new extensions had been added. I disabled all three, but only one had the option to remove it. The other two are still in my add-ons manager. They are not enabled, so not causing a problem (I hope), but would like to remove them. (GoPhotoIt is the main one I've read about all over the internet). I tried to follow the manual uninstall instructions, but there is no file in the extensions folder that matches the IDkeys listed in the "troubleshooting information" panel. (The same extenstions were on Chrome, but that was very easy to trash all three in, for some reason FF isn't making it so easy). When I type a word or term into the Google search bar the auto-complete fails; there is no pull down list of options for my search, only what I have completely typed in. I have to type in the complete word or term that I am searching for and then press return to get the results. I'm using a MacBook and OS X 10.7.5 Please help! This is so frustrating!

I have tabs and a plus sign for a new tab. When I click to get a new tab, I just get a tab labeled New Tab and on the screen I see mini-screens of commonly visited sites. There is nowhere to put a url address.
