USAToday has been my homepage for years, suddenly FIrefox will no longer open as either my preferred homepage or entering it into the address line.

I used to type a few letters in the location bar and history and suggestions would appear. Now I have to type in every web address I want to go to -- I don't know why the predictive typing and suggestions suddenly stopped working -- I haven't changed any settings. I've checked on Preferences/Privacy and it is set to Remember History and to suggest History and Bookmarks. I saw a similar question on here that suggested looking at the AVG add-on, but I don't have that. The predictive typing was very helpful -- I wish it hadn't disappeared!!! Can you please help?

Every time I now use Firefox (Imac 10.4.11) a nasty computer generated music starts. It sounds like an old computer game. Each time I open a window it starts and does not stop. It carries on, sounding like a siren from a police car. I switch off the speakers, but it drives me mad!!

My 12 year old daughter would like to remove a few websites from our navigation tool bar and we can't figure out how to delete. All the questions answered on this site so far require a PHD in IT. Can someone please provide us a step by step version on how to remove a few simple sites? Thanks!

Since two days, unable to make Google Maps working with Firefox. The page opens but no answer to my questions. A message says "Loading still in progress... Delay is too long? Look at trouble shooting guide or simplified HTML version." No problem with Safari.

When I download Firefox using the 3 step guide for my Mac, the icon is shown as an external drive and not the usual Firefox icon. I drag it into the Apps folder as suggested, but when I try to follow the next steps to place in the dock it will not do it. I try clicking on the icon to open firefox but nothing works. Can you help? Operating system Mac 0S10 .4

Firefox is not loading banners/background images/various interactive buttons etc on all web sites: I'm using Firefox/3.6.12 on Mac OS 10.4.11 Other browsers are fine: ie Safari and Opera. Firefox is working fine on our PC. I have taken screen shots of Google home page and Firefox home page in Ff and Safari to illustrate this point and can email these to you so you can see what's happening. Ff was working fine yesterday.

Entering extra information as requested I've noticed that the Default Plugin is showing as disabled in the Technical info under the Trouble shooting menu but is showing as enabled in the plugins list in the Ff drop down.

I operate on OSX 10.4.11 and had Firefox 3.6.12.

My bookmarks bar and time zone add-on dissapeared, I couldn't add bookmarks to my toolbar so downloaded Firefox 3.6.13 and my time zone add-on reapeared but my Bookmarks toolbar remains empty and I cannot add to it. I have not tried adding a bookmark so I don't know whether that would work.

Using Mac PowerBook G4 I am suddenly finding FF not allowing me to have certain sites work. I click on the "Allow" button but it repeatedly says same thing. I click Allow again and again. No progress. I have allowed all cookies and have no other restrictions in Preferences. This never happened with previous versions of FF. Why now and what can I do about it?

I loosed my firefox 3.6 while I loaded version 4.0 which does not run in my 10.4. PowerPC Mac G5.

Happily I was able to load version in Languadoc language which I do not yet understand so English or Finnish version would suit me better.

Over time, due to me hitting wrong keys, my gmail login has accumulated several mistyped usernames. Every time I access gmail, they all pop up. I'd like to start clean, but I can't get rid of them. I've followed your instructions for clearing my cache and history, but to no avail. I've followed instructions to click inside the username window and then use the arrow and delete keys--also no success. I'm on a Mac, OSX 10.4.11. Thank you!

Firefox (& Safari) redirect both Google searches and web addresses to an undesirable Chinese website (www.5542.com). They have both become very slow and often give a 'Server not found' message when accessing various sites. I believe it could be malware(?) or similar. I've tried to block the unwanted site but it keeps on appearing. I'm running two macs and it's happening on both of them. I'm not especially experienced with web jargon etc. so please speak slowly with any instructions! Thanks for your help. Andy

OS X 10.4.11 I cleared the browsing history, cookies, & cache. When I restarted firefox, I could not go to Netflix.com. I get a blank page with a pop up box labled: opening defult. Inside the box it says, You have chosed to open default which is binary code. There are two buttons: save & cancel. Clicking the buttons does nothing.

Reinstalling does not work. Reloading computer does not work. I even deleted my firefox profile (bye bye bookmarks.) Problem still exists.

I am able to veiw my blog & netflix on Safari, but there is no adblock for OS X10.4 and I hate the ads.

I will be in a website and the spinney wheel tells me Firefox is stuck. I have to quit Firefox and then open it. The "Firefox is embarrassed" message appears and tells me it is" having trouble recovering windows and tabs". It tells me to close recently opened sites....then I have it restore my site. This same ritual happens again and again every few minutes. How do I get things back to normal??????

Facebook recently had an update to their program. Since then, when I try to access applications, all I get are blank pages. They will not fully load, no matter what I do. All browsers and flash player are updated. Have tried the reload button, nothing seems to work. What can I do?
