When I use the Firefox browser to surf the web, on nearly every web page I visit an invasive advertising platform creates anchor links on the web pages (anchor keywords with two hyperlinks under the anchor word) which when clicked takes the viewer to an advertisement. Most of the links seem to be part of an advertising platform owned by "Text Enhance," which I have contacted to complain about. They sort of played dumb. I said I thought it was the result of some malware from which they were the sole beneficiary and they assured me they didn't instigate it. I went to the Warrior Forum and some members suggested it sounded like it came from one of your extensions or plugins. My security and technology consultant scrubbed my computer and they deleted some of your extensions and plugins and the problem went away. But two weeks later, it's back and it's pervasive. Even words in my online banking accounts are showing these text links.

Aside from security concerns, my biggest fear is that they are stealing traffic from the websites I publish--websites where I'm trying to sell either my own or affiliate products. And that upsets me greatly.

I'm sure I'm not the only web user experiencing this problem. If other web publishers are also getting their traffic stolen and directed to a competing site, you can bet that there will be a class action lawsuit on the horizon for Mozilla. So I suggest you get to the bottom of this situation and rectify it, because a lawsuit will be the inevitable result.

I don't mean to alarm you because I use Firefox as my primary browser. However, I checked IE and Chrome and Chrome is exhibiting the same situation. So I'm not really sure how this is happening, and that's why I'm contacting you about it.

Please let me know if you know how to de-activate this invasive pest.

I switched to FF a few years ago and never had a problem Wonderful program. FF wanted to upgrade to V7, and it installed fine. Since then, FF locks up every five minutes so bad I have to reboot. My email locks up, yahoo freezes, and I cannot type more than 5 letters in a chat without lockup. Somehow, your annoying help section tries to blame this on other programs!

Ever since I installed Avg free 2012 I have been forced to put up with Avg isearch appearing on every single page which I did not have previously I absolutely hate when something is imposed on me and I think it it totally unfair that I dont have the final say on whether I want it or not. I would appreciate it very much if your team could provide a solution to this problem as I cannot find one myself. I have tried to remove this several ways none of which worked. I have disabled the addon, uninstalled Avg free 2012, went through the Avg settings and disabled linkscanner and all of its settings and I am still stuck with it. I would have asked Avg to help but you can only get help from avg if you have a paid version of Avg and besides Avg is probably benefiting in some way. During normal usage Firefox will suddenly stop loading all pages in all tabs/windows. Every currently loading page remains blank, with the usual 'Connecting to ____' message. Any new tabs or windows opened, or any new page requests, get stuck in the same loop. The program itself does not hang and, other than failing to load pages, performs normally. No change in behaviour with all add-ons disabled. Seems to happen with any website, but seems to happen more often on pages with any elements that take excessively long to load. Only current solution is to close program and restart.

This is not a router/connectivity issue, IE and other programs can connect fine while the issue is occurring. Full system virus scan came up empty (Sophos/Ad-Aware/WinDefender). I believe I first starting having the problem with FF6, feels like it has become more frequent with FF7.

Firefox will not let me into Bt.com. I can in Internet Explorer. Firefox says ....www2.bt.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate has expired..... Which seems unlikly For British Telecom. How do I check if this is safe and not corrupted or How should I override it....My computer date and time clock is correct.....Thanks Tony

Everytime I go on to Firefox 7 I get the a pop up box saying to install Firefox 8, I would do this only Norton isn't compatible with 8 so for the time being I will use FF7.

I did install 8 only to find the toolbar was disabled!!!

I regretfully installed iLivid and have had the problem many others have experienced with the irritating searchqu. I have followed the many helpful threads on Firefox Help and through disabling add-ons, using add/remove programs etc, I have manged to just about get rid of it. One annoying aspect remains. On my Firefox page, next to the usual web address field, is another search box that is pre-filled with 'iLivid Web Search'.

Does anyone know what specific part of the removal process will get rid of this? Thanks.

Running Win7 x64. Upgraded to Firefox 7, then YouTube videos stopped playing. YouTube keeps insisting I need to install the latest flash player, which I have done several times (both "install_flashplayer10_mssa_aih.exe" and "install_flashplayer11x64_mssa_aih" versions), clear cookies, reboot and all that crap. Firefox refuses to play YouTube videos. Internet Explorer 9 (x64) plays YouTube videos fine. Am not using Firefox anymore. You have got to SUPPORT your app instead of leaving users floundering. This is also why I HATE upgrading. It too often causes new incompatibilities when I just want to leave what is working, the hell alone.

I made the mistake of accepting an upgrade to Firefox 7; suddenly I experience serious performance issues loading new pages. How do I get back to Firefox 5 or 6 ?

If that is not possible, how do I transfer my Bookmarks list over to Internet Explorer while you guys fix the performance issues ?

This morning when I opened firefox and clicked on the shortcut for my gmail, I kept getting yahoo as my search engine. I do not like yahoo, I have deleted the yahoo toolbar everytime I get tricked into downloading it with another file. How can I fix this?

For some reason firefox has stopped loading the youtube site for me. I can watch videos other people uploaded to facebook for example, but cant get into the site. the explorer will load the site, so I've tried changing the proxy settings in my firefox as recommended in the help center, but to no avail. Also there was no update installed that I'm aware of, getting to youtube through any link will simply give me an error message saying the connection was reset while the page was loading. pleas help me.

After upgrading to ubuntu 11.10 the firefox 6 browser cannot download and open .jnlp file from the interactivebrokers website. Usually I go to the IB website and download tws.jnlp file which is opened in the firefox web browser. But now when I click on the Open with Firefox Browser button, the firefox browser opens a new tab and display the same open window again.

When I click the "Restore Previous Session" button on my Firefox home page, nothing happens. It usually restores all of my tabs from the previous session, and now it does nothing.

About 1 week ago my new tabs started opening up in something called searchqu. it looked similar to Google originally so I didn't take much notice. I'm using Firefox 7.01 on Windows Vista. the same thing happened on IE9 but that was easy to reset. i can't find how to reset the default webpage for each tab when using Firfox

Ao optar pelo navegador firefox 7.0.1,surgiu o seguinte probema:Para acessar a página do Banco Itaú,é necessario instalar uma extensão de segurança, fornecida pelo banco ,com o nome de"GUARDIÃO".Porem,o firefox,não permite a instalação deste serviço de segurança.Este problema só acontece com o navegador firefox.Gostari de saber se tem alguma adaptação para que o mesmo permita esta instalação.
