Flash does work fine in Safari, so it seems to be just beta 7 that has this problem. I don't see any extensions that might be blocking flash (and haven't installed anything new between beta 6 and 7), but I will try a testing profile shortly.

Looking over the release notes, I don't see anything particularly specific to this. Possibly WebGL is interfering, or the new accelerated rendering that went in? I'm not sure how to go about checking if either of those caused the problem.

A crucial piece of security awareness does not work the same in 4.0b7. When hovering over a link, Chrome, Opera, and Firefox-3 all show the URL at the bottom left of the screen. But we cannot guard ourselves against phishing attacks in the same way with 4.0b7 because it puts the link's URL up in the Location Bar instead, where it gets truncated.

This "feature" appears to be undocumented; it is not mentioned in the Release Notes.

What config setting do I need to change to get the link's URL to show up down in the Status Bar again? (Or should I say Add-On Bar, since "Status Bar" no longer shows up under Menu -> View -> Toolbars.)

All other letters and my desktop font is normal! Hmm, i recently reinstalled win7 x64, and maybe something is wrong with that :) But, my display drivers are up to date... I must say that font on most websites are pretty clean (not in Gmail), but their names in tabs and Menu bar is still kind of dimly. The text in the adress bar looks like it is in lower resolution - a little pixelated :)

I have tried to fix it by disabling nvidia 3d vision plugin and microsoft silverlight, but none does the trick...any other suggestions ?

When I do a right click at the address bar, the menu doesn't appear, he stay invisible, and I don't see the options. The same occurs with firefox menu (print menu) and in the options (drop-down menus).

Normally, I can type the name of the website followed by ctrl+enter and I can access it right away. For example, after I type "google" into the address bar, I normally press ctrl+enter afterwards, and it would automatically become "www.google.com" in the address bar. If I do it now, nothing happens. Not only that, if I type the url and click enter, nothing happens either. Is there any way to solve this problem?

For now, the only way to browse is to press the go arrow to launch the web. The shortcut has malfunctioned.

So I changed the preferences on my downloadhelper such that the icon appears in the status bar. Then I decided I didn't like that, and changed the preference. However, the status bar remains, with absolutely nothing in it.

I am running windows 7, and using Firefox 4.0b7.

Somehow I got a hold of the "backdoor:win32/cycbot.b". I ran "Dr.Web CureIt!" and then "MalwareBytes". It was found and removed, but now, whenever I open Firefox, the connection setting defaults to using http proxy of 127.0.0.1, with a port setting of 55030.

I have to go in, delete the proxy and reset every time I launch Firefox. IE, once backdoor was removed, is opening just fine and retains its settings.

I also noticed in the file named prefs.js, the following lines appear and can not be removed. When I do remove them, they reappear as soon as I launch FF.

I unable to see what I´m doing the same happens for all tabs and menus, it but the issue still persists, this is in a desktop with window 7. Don´t really know what to do. had to go back to previews version. its hard to troubleshoot when everything is black and you can´t see the buttons.

I don' t like Firefox maximized so I use the smaller square next to the X in order to keep it at around 2/3 my screen size. That way I can see part of my screen in the background. All of a sudden, I can either maximize the window or, if I click the smaller box which is supposed to simply make it a smaller window, the whole thing disappears! Gone. Nada. No nothing. I can't get it to do anything and have to go to the task manager to maximize it though the taskbar shows it's still open, not minimized to the tray.

This happens sporadically and the only way I can change it is to open a new window, copy all my tabs over to the new window and then close the maximized one. I've tried closing it with the Ctrl, Alt or shift button pressed then exiting or Xing out of it, but no combination has worked.

Not happy with this at all!

If I type in URLs or such in the address bar then press Enter, it doesn't respond. Any open autocomplete panels will close, but it does not submit my request. This only started happening yesterday, from what I can tell. Sad panda.

This happens even in safe mode. It seems to be a default function that I don't like and can't figure out how to get rid of.

Whenever I start typing a search term, url, or whatever into the Location Bar/Url Bar/Awesome Bar (whatever you want to call it), everything works fine... Unless the term starts with "m". If it starts with "m", for some reason (and I can't find any documentation on this), the Bar decides to look at my open tabs and auto-fills with one of them. I don't want this function. I want to just have it put an "m" as if I were typing any other letter.

To be more clear: When I type a "g" in the Bar, this comes up (brackets mean highlighted): g[mail . com/]

(urls don't actually have spaces, obviously... just preventing links from being made) It's pretty annoying that I can't start terms with an "m"...

In previous betas of firefox on a mac, the three-finger scroll on the trackpad used to do full page up and full page down (as it does in other applications). In version 4 beta 7, for some reason the three touch trackpad action now opens the 'Firefox Group your Tabs' feature. I've searched in the preferences menu and can't see where to edit or fix this. Can anyone help?

I'm trying to sort and organize my bookmarks and when I try and "manage" them like on previous versions of FF there is no option under the Bookmark tab. Is this feature hidden or disabled in the 4.0 Beta 7?

it seems that every single tab gets its own unique window, now i feel that this is inefficient as well as making being organized out side of firefox a harder task. Since when you close any of the windows that hold 1 tab it removes it from the master window and the group menu.

Now hopefully this is just a bug caused by the new as well as great packaged feature that the grouping tool is.

The Google Search Bar in the top right corner no longer contains the Google Search Engine. I tried adding it by going to Google.com but when I tried to add it, it didn't recognise anything to add. I also tried going through the list of Search Engines provided by Firefox but there are so many different ones created by so many different people, I had no idea which one to choose.
