Closing a FF4 session with multiple tabs, I am not asked to save tabs and so they don't redisplay upon restart.

In Tools-Options-Privacy I have unchecked Remember my browsing history Clear history when Firefox closes

The other options there are checked.

In Tools-Options-Tabs I have checked Warn me when closing multiple tabs.

Are my settings incorrect? Basically I want any open tabs to be reopened across sessions, but I don't want any other history to be retained.

Every single YouTube video will crash Adobe Flash, regardless of browser. I've gone from Firefox 3.6, to the beta/minefield? version of Firefox 4, and i've even tried Chrome. Regardless of browser, it will crash Adobe Flash. As you can understand this problem is exceptionally frustrating to me as my desktop computer has Firefox 3.6, with the same extensions and adobe flash installed with no issue whatsoever.

I have no changed anything to my system except for installing Microsoft Silverlight which I thought would've been the problem but sadly it didn't fix my issue after an uninstallation and cleaning of any registry entries with CCleaner.

I am currently on a clean install of firefox 4 with flash. It still crashes. I have no made any changes to my system. As far as I understand Adobe Flash has not updated their software within the last week, and if it has, my desktop computer has been regularly updating itself with no issues whatsoever.

I recently installed Firefox 4 beta 11 and now cannot access certain webpages provided by my university which are using an SSL-encryption.

The error message I receive (in a popup box) is:

evasys.urz.uni-halle.de uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate is not trusted because no issuer chain was provided.

(Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)

It has been a known problem that somehow Firefox does not handle the issuer chain of the certificate correctly (thats what the IT department says) and the solution up to now was to add an exception for this website in Firefox 3.x.x

This would be fine by me for Firefox 4, too, but I cannot find a way to add this exception. As soon as I dismiss the error message box by clicking "OK" nothing happens, no "This connection is untrusted"-page (http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/This%20connection%20is%20untrusted#w_certificates-and-identification) is opened or anything equivalent.

The facemoods program installed itself on my computer w/o permission. I uninstalled the program, cleared all traces of facemoods that "Malewarebytes" and "Spybot - Search and Destroy" could find, and now I have a new default net error page directed to the given link above for all my browsers.

I figured uninstalling and then reinstalling would do the trick, I even upgraded to Firefox 4, and still no luck. I wonder if this is because of not deleting all the data such as passwords and bookmarks.

How can I fix this?

I don't have Tools and options with all that cutesy c*** like FF used to have. FF4 has two different option bars under Orange Firefox drop down menu box and another options drop down menu box from options. So how the Hell do I save a browsing session? Then how do I reopen it? Can I set this thing to reopen last browsing session tabs like normal browsers do? And can I get through this stuff without having the damned thing crash every 5 minutes? Thanks- keimanzero

whenever i open my Hotmail inbox and try to read an email, Firefox just keeps on refreshing by itself, and i can not read my emails or check anything because it just keeps on refreshing the page by itself, i have noticed this problem only with my hot mail when my Hotmail account is signed in.

Java plugin isn't loading in Firefox 4.0b11, but it works fine in 3.6.13 (and in Google Chrome too). It worked in Firefox 4 before, but broke somewhere around beta 5. libnpjp2.so is not really in the plugins folder, but is a symlink: /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libnpjp2.so -> /usr/lib/jvm/ia32-java-6-sun-1.6.0.12/jre/lib/i386/libnpjp2.so. When run from the command line, I see FF trying to load the other symlinked plugins (most totem related) but failing because they are amd64, and FF is built in 32bit. But no messages about libnpjp2.so (which IS 32bit).

Flash only works in Firefox 4 beta 11 when I put it in 32-bit mode. I have never been able to get it to work under normal conditions. I have uninstalled every other plug-in and re-installed flash and the results are the same.

Not only does flash not work for beta 11, but flash has never worked for any previous version of Firefox 4 beta under default settings. After searching through Firefox support forums, I have found this to be true for many other users, as well.

Has anyone discovered the cause of this problem?

I just downloaded firefox 4 beta this morning. Went to POGO and the screen said to download plug-ins which led me to Adobe Flash Player 10.2 installer. Have been installing for over two hours now. Am I doing something wrong? I am afraid to hit quit and that is the only option on the installer window.

The font size for the toolbar file edit,etc. are too small.I wish I could make them bigger and be able too change the color of them. It would be great if we could change them since we can add some nice themes on top of screen. Thanks

In FF 4 Beta 11 I open a new window, middle click a link in the new window, but the new tab opens on the original window.

Why doesn't it open in the new window?

Are there settings to alter this behaviour?

When I came in this morning and opened Firefox 4.0b.11 I seem to have a rather odd set up. I have the normal top blue bar that I normally see on all windows applications, with the red x, minimize, maximize. Then below it, I see the blue bar that I shows up on my netbook, which has the ed x, minimize, maximize, and then an orange omni-menu. Under that, I have the File menu.

I would like to make the blue bar in the middle, the one with the orange omni-menu go away.

I also have lost all tracking with my back button. It just stays grey, and I can not go back with it, or right-click.

edit:: my panorama is a mess too. It's putting all the windows out in space by themselves, duplicating containers without any function (plain boxes that behave as if they are not there). My windows are appearing black instead of with previews, when I open new tab in panorama, they don't show up, and it shows me the last panorama set I was in, until I manually go in and open a new tab in the browser window, then it jumps me into the other panorama set, and the tab I opened in panorama is there after that.

edit:: my panorama windows are showing certain tabs, but when I enter into a tab, the actual tabs that are showing on my tab bar don't match.

edit:: I've got no reload button either, or right click-reload, and the URL bar isn't showing the right URL when I switch tabs.

I can reload tabs by right clicking on them still.

Sorry, I've got to switch back to FF3.6 for the day; I'm a web developer and a lack of the refresh button kills productivity.

I recently upgraded to 4.0b to use the mobile features. When I try to retrieve my mail on Hotmail.com, if there is an attachment, the page.....particularly the attachment blinks or seems to reload ever 2 or 3 seconds, rendering the page unusable. With some effort, I am able to close the session. To get my Hotmail, I am forced to open an older version of Firefox which, as always works just fine. I have followed the instructions in "help" and I have cleared the history but it didn't resolve the problem. I have had no other problems with 4.0b

For many prior releases, adjacent to the Back-Forward navigational buttons there has been a small down arrow icon that allowed viewing of the history stack and a way to quickly go back several levels. That was not just a convenience, that was a necesssity for NASTY sites that intercept the back button and hold you hostage at their site.

I am unable to save my multiple tabs while closing Firefox. I even tried re-installing and re-launching the firefox in safe mode using the following command "firefox -safe-mode", but even that did not help.

I tried looking for any option in the tools, but did not find any.

Please help.

When i try to log on it takes me to step 1 of 2 and i can not get any further. I have used other peoples pc's and there isn't a problem. This only seems to have occurred on mine since i have downloaded firefox 4.0

I'm using the arabic version of firefox, since the 4.0b10 version - and still in 4.0b11- i have a problem with viewing some arabic fonts in some web pages, here is a screenshot for what i mean :

I've had this issue for awhile:

When I start up Firefox (whether it's 3.6 or 4b), old tabs reappear in the tool bar. Now, I know you're thinking, "well, change the preference or say don't save next time". Doesn't matter. These tabs are OLD, several months old, last October old. I open new tabs and save those -- these old ones still open. I close the tabs, open a new window, and save that -- the old tabs still open.

Nothing seems to matter.

I've trashed preferences. I've deleted Firefox. Reinstalled Firefox. Installed Beta 4 Firefox, still same problem.

I'm not sure how it got onto to my system, but I've had a pop-up called "ask Jeeves" everytime I've logged onto Firefox 4 Beta. I want my "AOL" homepage. I keep trying to put it in the "house box and that seems to work, but I don't want to have to open firefox and be recieved by a load of advertising, it's certainly not a Google search engine and is full of adverts. I have "adblock plus, and for the most part it seems to solve all the issues about unwanted pop-ups. Has anyone any ideas? I'd much appreciate it, thanks to you all.
