I am getting alerts that my version of Firefox will not be supported much longer but I can't find an upgrade that works on my Mac Mini running MAC OSX 10.4.11. Shall I use a different browser?

I have got: Macintosh PowePC-processor G4 MacOS 10.5.8 Firefox 3.6.25 I got a message from Firefox that I should upgrade Firefox. With the information that it´s not possible to upgrade to the latest version of Firefox. Does it exist a version of Firefox higher than 3.6.25 that is possible to install om my Macintosh ? When I studied the actual message from Firefox I got lost and did not find information if it es possible to upgrade more than to 3.6.25 - or does it in some way exist a newer version of the very 3.6.25 that would be possible to install om my PowerPC-Mac ?

Every time I try to watch a video or movie, I get a notice telling me to get the new Adobe Flash Player. After trying to download it a number of times and failed, I uninstalled the version that came with OSX (as instructed as some point). That did not work.

I then re-installed the version that I had and am still in the same predicament.

I now even have regular sites (e.g. dictionary) telling me that I need to add plugins. When I click on "add" I am always directed to the Flash Player download.

QuickTime says I don't have the proper plugin but my computer says I have 7.6.4 and there are no problems.

The only plugin that shows (無効 - invalid) is Gecko.

Is it not possible to watch anything in this environment? Do I need to cancel my movie subscriptions?

I didn't quite remember my pass name, and so I had it changed, but the old ones keeps coming up. I was able to get rid of the old password that kept coming up also by going into preferences and getting it deleted, but there's no place to do that for pass names.

I cannot update my version, 3.6.25, of Firefox to Firefox 4. The System Requirements exclude my computer. It has OS X 10.4.11 and a PowerPC G4 processor, ancient indee.

Does this mean I should find a non-Firefox browser? I'm not ready to buy a new computer.

When I down load the latest version of firefox supposidly compatible with my compute I get a message it is not compatible and I should dowm load the latest version tha tis compatible with my system, 10.4.11 running on a G 5 based machine. NOT INTELL! So what is the appropriate version and please send me a link!!

I guess it could be a new virus, but I've run up-to-date AVG, Adaware, and SpybotSD ... something just shut me out of using search engines from Firefox ... my Firefox is the slightly older version [3.6.25] simply because I don't like the new format they introduced , really was a step backwards as I see it, but the older version is still supposedly supported as I understand it... I have checked what sites are blacklisted and the cookies and can find no explanaton for this rather catastrophic and seemingly very deliberate shut-out ... seems like something a disgruntled person might put out on the web so it may be spreading ...

On my iMac, a PowerMac6,1, with aPowerPC G4 (3.3) processor (Speed: 1 GHz, Memory: 768 MB) I have used Firefox for years. Current version 3.6.25. When using it, it tells me that it is outdated, won't be supported much longer and I should upgrade. But when trying , it gives me the above message, " latest version is not compatible with my operating system" (but I have MAC OS X 10.5.8, which according to Firefox's web site should be sufficient). Several months ago for an unknown reason my right-click search changed from Bing to Google. How do I change it back? I'm on a Mac OS 10.4.11 and Firefox 3.6.25. I got a little over my head and tried two things, one from an article here which says -

Changing the Internet Keyword service

You can specify any valid URL to perform the Internet Keyword searches by modifying the keyword.URL preference in the about:config page:

   * To use the Browse by Name service from in earlier versions of Firefox, keyword.URL can be set to http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&sourceid=navclient&gfns=1&q=. Google will forward you to the relevant site if it finds a clear match. Otherwise, the search results page will be displayed. 

   * To use Yahoo!, set keyword.URL to http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=, Bing, set it to http://www.bing.com/search?q= and so on.
   * To reset the Internet Keyword service to use a standard Google search Google's Browse by Name service, right-click hold down the Ctrl key while you click on keyword.URL and select Reset. 

and one from an outside article which said to go to about:config, find Bing and replace it with the URL http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=utf-8&q=

Neither worked and it's probably I don't have a clue as to what I'm doing beyond following those instructions. I suspect it might be because those solutions were meant for a different version of Firefox. I got out of there because I didn't want to screw anything up.

Anything else I need to add?

For some time now I've been getting pop-ups wanting me to upgrade to version 9.0.1, but when I start I'm immediately told that some of my add-ons will be disabled ( MS.net framework & Java). WHEN will V 9.0.1 be compatible with these add-ons?

Mac OS 10.4 is the limit for my old Mac. I get the message that I should upgrade to a newer version of Firefox than 3.6.25, but the "tell me more" and other links it presents me offer no hint of that newer compatible version.

Dear Sir / Madam, I have problems with my sound in my box. It is very slow in firefox while in other browsers is very good. The problems is from firefox , but I do not exactly know how to repair it. This problem started one or two days ago when I started my youtube and the sound was very slow. I tested then with google chrome and the sound was ok. And I have tested with Windows Player and it was ok as well. Only with firefox I hear the sound very badly (slowly), I like firefox and I do not want to give up to it. Plugin-container.exe causes me massive problems with hangs, crashes, cpu usage in the 90-100% range and it seems to force the cooling fan to run at maximum constantly. It makes the computer useless as anything other than an extremely noisy paperweight and trying to solve the problem has not worked. Therefore i want to downgrade to a version which does not have this awful thing.

Does the oldest supported version (3.6.0 from what i can see) have plugin container.exe?
