Two pages pop up when I double click the firefox icon on the desktop, the home page and the check plug in page. How do I stop the check plug in page from repeatedly popping up when I double click the firefox icon?

Never having copied or pasted anything on Mozilla Firefox (or any other site) I am completely ignorant of how to do it! Someone has directed me to his blog and suggested that I forward a large part of the contents to a third party using 'Copy & Paste'. How do I do this? Please keep the instructions simple as my basic knowledge is really basic. Thanks.

crashing browser, slower pages, missing buttons, keystroke delays...these seem to be widely experienced issues. I have yet to find an acknowledgment from Mozilla. It would be helpful to know that they are aware, not in denial, and working on fixing it. Otherwise, I (and others) might move to another browser and like it enough to never come back.

PS: For me, with v.4, everything slowed down, keystrokes and scrolling were delayed. I reverted to v. 3.6 and am now looking at other browsers.

Firefox 3.6.17, Win2K. Don't laugh at the OS, it just works.

But I get the Plugin Check page every time I start Firefox. It doesn't help, because I have the most recent versions of all my plugins that support Win2K. I just *cannot* update my plugins.

How do I kill off this screen?

Well, you know, short of removing Firefox forever.

I don't like the blank page & really liked those icons. It was more convenient than bookmarks. Don't know where it came from, it just showed up one day when I opened a new tab.

Firefox used to ask me if I wanted to save tabs, but now it just asks me if I want to close tabs, just a warning, but no option to save, I've searched about the problem but it only shows up for firefox 4 user and I'm still using firefox 3.6, and don't want to upgrade it for now

I have to take a test and the requirement is to have an older version of Firefox. I need version 3.0 but I have 3.6.17. The test won't work in the current version. Can you tell me how I can get this older version??

I would like to check my history for time of day, as well as for the date. Is this a feature that is common? How do I set it to work showing the time, as well as, the date? Thank you.

Recently my status bar has disappeared in 3.6.17 despite having ticked the View status bar option in the top menu. How can i get this back please as it has a lot of other things in it i use e.g. Alexa bar and Firebug etc

I want to upgrade from 3.6.17 - Looks like I have to download 7.whatever. Can't figure out how to do it by just clicking something that says "upgrade." Docs say updating is automatic, and will be asked to click OK when upgrade is availabe. That does not happen. Another doc say click help, then upgrade. That is no an option in the help menu. It is great that FF is free, and all that, but it seems impossible to find ANY documentation that is CURRENT and HELPFUL PLEASE HELP.

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to ask this question, but I needed to start somewhere. I recently published my site, mei-vt.net, and one of the CSS effects I have isn't working in Firefox, but is working IE. Firefox is my primary browser and I used it to preview the pages while building the site. The hover effect worked fine in the preview and stopped working only when I published the site to the my web host.

The effect is at the top of the Commercial page (found here http://mei-vt.net/commercial.html). It consists of 6 pictures that enlarge to fill the border when moused over. The original code was written by a freelance web designer and the original copyright information is intact in my external style sheet. The site said the effect was tested and working in Firefox, but it doesn't seem to be working for me.

I will paste the entire style sheet content below that controls the effect and the source code can be viewed from the page. Please tell me what I need to do to make this work in Firefox!

Sorry Mozilla, but Firefox 4 sucks big time. I uninstalled and downloaded 3.6.17. I've turned off automatic updates. V4 breaks JQuery and who knows what else, so I'll be a lifelong customer of my v3.6.17 version, coz I'm just not going to have established, clean, awesome code killed by the browser! Only I build web apps so I've got to get all my clients to stop upgrading, too. I've been a Firefox guy for years now, but this is the end of my rope. Chrome is pretty good, as is Safari. I guess one of these is going to be my browser going forward.
