I had went into the task manager and accidentally deleted the firefox task the was going. When I went back on firefox, all my bookmarks were gone. I tried restarting it, without any luck. I tried getting the backups, to find I had none. Nothing has worked for me. Thought originally I was trying to get google chrome on my computer, only for that not to work, so I'm not sure if that may have messed it up or not. Please help me.

My objective is to make a global edit to the bookmarks in one folder. To do so, I exported to an HTML file, opened that file in Notepad, deleted all the other bookmarks, and did a search-and-replace to correct the ones I was trying to fix. Saved the file and attempted to import into Firefox. I *can* open the file and see the links, and I can use Import and Backup to get to the file and select it for import. However, after that, NOTHING happens.

when I try to import my favorites from internet explorer, only half of my favorites (a-m) are transferred. Is there any way to increase the capacity of the folder?

One day all my bookmarks were gone. Tried importing bookmarks from a USB stick but could not. Tried importing from MIE.....no luck. Tried "Restore" using an earlier date....no luck. Nothing has worked. Using Firefox 18.0. Computer OS is Windows Vista Home Premium. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Rodney

It's quite simple really, or it was until I changed to Firefox. I just want to organise my favourites or as you people say; bookmarks apple freaks, I guess. I'll try again, but if I cannot figure it out I'll change to another browser - simples

I have imported favorites, but those not in English but in Hebrew letters are displayed as stars with a question mark. Using and changing kode letters under view had no affect. Hebrew appears in web display alright

hi there, i was really pleased to see that you offer the option to import bookmarks from droid, but after having done so my awesome screen doesn't look so awesome. it's just an ugly (and unorganized) list of every single one of my bookmarks i imported. so this might be a premature question, but will my awesome screen look awesome (with the nice thumbnails and such) the more i use the browser? or will the imported bookmarks not give up their spot? didn't really see any questions regarding importing since most involve sync. i have firefox on my laptop, but had accumulated bookmarks on my mobile browser that i didn't want to toss out the window. thanks for your help!

I like to have the bookmarks displayed on a sidebar, but since installing windows 8 on my new Pc, I can't find the display sidebar bookmarks in the menus on latest Firefox instillation.

I recently upgraded to Firefox 18 and when I go to make a new bookmark folder I can see it in the bookmarks menu under "show all bookmarks" but when I'm trying to bookmark a page while browsing the folders are not showing up in the pulldown menu on the "page bookmarked" window.

I can't use Choose to find the folders either

I can then go back and manually drag the pages over but that's annoying.

My computer, or the software (windows 7) crashed yesterday. I got my system back up and running through HP tech support. But, now I have the problem of trying to restore all my bookmarks that I had with firefox before the crash. Unfortunately, HP's tech support can't seem to help that issue, even though I did do a backup on a DVD prior to the fix. Being I suspect firefox has a way of remembering my bookmarks, how in the world can I now reinstall those bookmarks, and I had plenty, to my now repaired windows 7 system? I'm sure hoping, there has to be a way to restore all of my previous bookmarks! Can anyone help?

I cant seem to put a bookmarked page where I want to in my folders since firefox bookmarks it at the bottom of all my bookmarked folders instead of bringing up the small box and letting me choose the folders I want to put it in....this just started last nite 2-12-13 and I have not downloaded anything thing , like new software or anything this week....plz help

For over a year now, I have created html files of my bookmarks in Firefox from my main PC and then copied them to my laptop version of Firefox. I thought that would just rewrite the old bookmarks, but I see now it just adds to the old bookmarks. I've tried deleting the old bookmarks one at a time but that takes forever and it will not delete large collections of bookmarks in the old bookmark menus.

    How do I delete most or all of my old bookmarks (now hundreds) on my laptop, so I can add the new bookmarks from my main PC?

I had the error message: "The bookmarks and history system will not be functional because one of Firefox's files is in use by another application. So I was able to get my bookmarks back but not my browsing history (is there any way to get it back by the way?), but I'm not sure that I got all of my bookmarks back from the backup. Is there any way to see when my backup was last updated so I can be sure that I got all of my bookmarks back? I haven't bookmarked anything in a long time so I can't tell just from looking at the most recent ones at the bottom of the list.

I followed instructions on how to export my Firefox bookmarks to a Bookmarks.html, BUT there is no Show All Bookmarks in my Bookmarks menu. I don't get it. I have Firefox 3.6.28, which is the latest I can install on my PowerPC OS 10.4.11 Mac. Thank you. I'm stuck without my Firefox bookmarks on my new iMac OS 10.8.

I have a MacBook Pro running OS X 10.5.7, and an iPad 2 running iOS 6.1.3. On the MAC, I have Firefox for MAC v 19.0.2 and Safari 6.0.3 On the iPad, I have only Safari for iPad. I always use Firefox as my browser for the MacBook, but there is no Firefox app for the iPad.

My Safari bookmarks automatically update from the MacBook to the iPad, but not from Firefox to the iPad. Is it possible for the automatic update to be made from Firefox instead of Safari to the iPad Safari.app? If not, is there an easy way on the MacBook to keep the Safari bookmarks up to date with the Firefox bookmarks, so that the iPad shares my Firefox bookmarks?

If not possible now, are you planning to make this possible for MAC users who also have an iPad?

Since getting in to the habit of better organizing my bookmarks, I have bookmark folders that are up to three levels deep.

How can I save a bookmark to a specific folder without having to use the mouse or click "Choose..."?

It would be nice if there were a way to just type it, with folder suggestions coming up. I.e. I would be able to hit Ctrl+D, type the name, hit tab, and type Classes\303\HW to have it bookmark to that folder. Right now, I can only bookmark to recently used folders with the keyboard.

I know this can be done with the mouse, but I am looking for a fast way with the keyboard, possible with a plugin of some sort.

For the last day or so, I've been unable to open a bookmark in a new tab by right-clicking and selecting Open in a New Tab. All of the proper options show up on the menu, but the entire menu is grayed out and unavailable. This is only true for my bookmarks. If I right-click on a link, the context menu shows up properly and works correctly.
