My homepage is my.yahoo.com and is listed as the start page under Options > General. This address is my customized Yahoo page. When FF v. 21 (just updated yesterday) starts the generic version of My Yahoo starts with the URL http://my.yahoo.com/?_bc=1. So each time I start FF I have to manually log in to Yahoo to get my personalized start page. I check the box to remember me, but to no avail. I have cookies enabled.

Never had this problem until the update. Any ideas?

I'm using Windows 20, and recently install Freemake Video Downloader. I remember that I had not checked the "Make Freemake my default search provider" when installing the product. But still, Firefox use it as the default search engine. I've did some research, which tell me to go to the search box, choose the drop-down arrow, and click "Manage Search Engines". The thing is, the Freemake search engine was not there. So I just delete every search engine except only one I like, and resart the browser. Surprisingly, it has change to the homepage and search engine I want, except for one thing. If you type in the address bar, it STILL use Freemake search engine. So I have search in Control Panel > Uninstall a problem (which I didn't found anything I don't install myself). I want to keep the program, but is there a way to reset this? I can do this in Chrome and Opera, why not Firefox?

seems to be some adware/malware that captures where I go on the net. it slows down page loading significantly. Every time I click a link or renew a page it shows in the lower left hand corner ("connecting i.simpli.fi").

How can I get rid of it?

I am running firefox 21.0.

So Yesterday i opened Mozilla and everything was normal Till i got a weird message saying the Following : A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.

and when i hit Continue Firefox Freezes and start to Not Respond and then Shuts Down and I've tried to Stop Script too but it's not working . the Same problem

Some people Advised me to Change my browser but of Course No i won't Change Firefox

and this happens for Sites such As Facebook, blogs , any site with Ads on it

i've installed java Several times i've updated Mozilla Too .. i have no Add ons

Please any Solutions this problem is Bugging me

I have received the "Firefox has prevented this page from redirecting to another page." message and have clicked on ALLOW. I now understand that was a mistake and I want future attempts by this page to redirect to be BLOCKED. I have tried removing all cookies but that doesn't do it. Any suggestions?

I was lissening to online radio. Firefox needed to update. After the latest update the windows media player plugin dissapeared from the add-on list, while still being installed correct. I reinstalled it, but that didn't work. I replaced/deleted some files in firefox as suggested for similiar problems, but that didn't work either. Now I can't play wmp files anymore on firefox.

I hope u can help me solve this problem.

There needs to be clarification on the Java issues. It's clear that we can disable Java in the java control panel itself and/or via the plug-in link.

However, what about the firefox options menu? Where you click Tools_Options_Content and then you can check or un-check "Enable JavaScript" -- is that safe to be checked/enabled or is that also part of the security concern w/ Java right now?

Update history says version 20.0.1 was installed on April 11, but Help About Firefox says I have version 19.0.2. Since I'm on the release channel, with updates automatic, I should be current.

While trying to track down which Add-On is hammering my CPU, I found another odd behaviour while trying to disable plug-ins one-by-one: With certain plug-ins (specifically Flash, Foxit Reader, and Silverlight), the next time I restart Firefox, they are enabled again. After disabling them a few times, they finally stay disabled on restart, but then I can't re-enable them. (Same thing happens, but in reverse; I enable them, but they return to disabled on restart.)

At one point I was trying to disable Foxit and Silverlight and re-enable Flash. Each time I restarted, Foxit and Silverlight would be enabled again and Flash disabled again. After about five or six attempts over two days, suddenly it worked.

Has anyone else noticed this behaviour? I don't recall ever having problems disabling unwanted plugins before.

Note: This is about plug-ins, not extensions. And this isn't about permanently disabling or removing plugins.

Прошу простить меня за вопрос, не относящийся только к фф, но вы последняя надежда. Уже более полугода мучаюсь. Вышеуказанные сайты грузятся раз через 10 (в 9 случаях из 10 получаю уведомление "Соединение было сброшено").

Вины провайдера (МТС коннект 3G) в том нет - пробовал на другой машине с тем же модемом и все работает. Другие браузеры так же отказались грузить эти сайты (Опера, Хром, IE). Грузит их только TOR. 
Файл Hosts чист, антивирус - Nod 32 Eset Smart Security 6. Фаервол не мешает (отключал, добавил сайты в список исключений), да и вообще антивирус тут не при чем (вчера переустанавливал систему - так проблема возникла еще до установки последнего). Брандмауэр отключен (Windows XP SP3, 32). Бана моей подсети на сайте нет - узнавал. Сайты работают у других, без сомнений. Вирусов нет (проверял уже чем угодно...AVZ, Nod, Antimalware, Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool). Трассировка идет нормально (иногда бывают потери на конечном хосте). Прямой ввод ip сфйта в адресную строку не принес результата.

Sorry folks, I have asked the writer but just want to keep options open.

"Net usage item 1.2.337.1" It used to work. Now it constantly just gives a red circle with a white cross in it.

But, if I RMB in it, and "visit ISP usage page" it works.

So if it opens the link and can show me on a page, SOMETHING has changed, but where? Anyone else have this error?

P.S. My ISP is bigpond.

When I go to this website, I get a view of what looks like navigation buttons, not the correct display. When I use internet explorer to go to this same address, I get the proper website display. I have cleared cache, and have tried typing in the website address directly. all with the same bad result. How do I fix this?

Hi. Since updating to Firefox 20, I've noticed that the "Tabs" are right along the very top of the screen now, which I can't access becasue I use Dell Desktop to have my shortcuts in, which drops down in front of them. It used to be fine when it was just a little lower, but at the same time I don't want the "Menu Bar" on as it pushes them TOO low for my smaller sized screen. How can I get the back to the position they where, right below the organge "Firefox" button as apposed to the side of it without resorting to disabling Dell Desktop?

When in Yahoo mail, the OPEN WEB LOCATION box opens for each letter I try to type in in the "To" line and/or the "Subject" line of any new e-mail to someone. I type a letter, the Box opens, and I cannot type anything in the e-mail window anywhere until I close the box. I close the box, type another letter, and the OWL Box open gain. It takes forever to type anything. This started when I updated Firefox to the new 21 version. I Uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox. No help. I uninstalled 21 and re-installed 19 (I was using 19 with no problems until today). No help. The problem will not go away. I note that others have complained of this problem. Is there a fix yet? I have been forced back to IE in the meantime.

Started up Firefox and the text in the main window was bigger than yesterday, there is now a scroll bar at the bottom for me to mover left and right to see all the screen. Zoom is already reset so CTRL+0 does nothing. Zooming back out to make the page look better only works for that page.

A complete re-installation of Firefox didn't work also.

I rolled back System Restore and Firefox looked fine again until I realised that I didn't have any search engines installed. So I reinstalled Firefox over the old (Choose Upgrade) and the big text problem came back.

I have been using Weebly recently, not sure if that is a coincidence or not, maybe I have messed something up whilst editing?

XP itself seems fine though, maybe this is a Font problem? Not sure. :P

3 days ago I was trying to watch videos on youtube and i kept getting adobe flash player crash error. i went ahead and updated to firefox 20.0.1 and i updated to flash player 11.7. still getting the error. Ive clean installed both since. I've reverted to older versions even the 10.3 listed on Firefox Troubleshooting guide. Nothing seems to work. I cannot watch any video period on any website that i've tried. Ive ran Malwarebytes and virus scans both with latest definitions and all is clean. Now firefox just crashed as i was writing this. weird. some assistance would be appreciated. Thanks
