I use separate Firefox Profiles for different purposes, each with it's own set of bookmarks. On XMarks, it is relatively simple to have different profiles, but can the same thing be done in Firefox sync? One account, multiple profiles.

I have downloaded latest versions of Flash Player, Firefox and have a new Toshiba computer. Games on king.com play okay on Google Chrome, but not on Firefox with frequent "freezing", crashing and overplay.

I have a problem with QuickTime plug-in 7.7.1 for Firefox on Mac OS 10.7.5. I am unable to drag the playhead to some arbitrary point in the middle of a quicktime video. The plugin prevents the playhead from moving to any point beyond the prefix of the video that has been downloaded until then.

I have no problem dragging the playhead to any point on Safari or on an iphone.

If I disable the plug-in opting instead to start QuickTime in a separate window, Firefox either (1) downloads the entire video before invoking QuickTime, or (2) starts the QuickTime video playback right away but, if the playhead is dragged to the middle of the video, the video/audio freezes but the timer continues to tick away. Whether 1 or 2 happens seems to be somewhat non-deterministic.

On Firefox 19 or 20beta when using firefox with multiple monitors in OSX 10.8.3 upon closing Firefox opens in the main monitor regardless of the previous monitor selected.

I've tried switching from 19 to 20beta and back, clearing the .rdf file referenced in other threads, turning off hardware acceleration, completely uninstalling and reinstalling firefox, and anything else I could think of to no avail.

When I click on a magnet link, the Launch Application dialog/window appears, but when I click OK, it's as if its not there at all, as if I clicked outside the dialog so it goes in the background, requiring me to switch to that dialog again and only then does it respond to the click (OK or Cancel, whichever). This is on Firefox 19/Windows 7 x64, didnt use to happen before.

Automate login process of our specific sites in firefox :

 There are two modes available in firefox : 
(1) simple(General) Mode : In this mode firefox will open as normal.
(2) Automate mode : which is password protected and verify password online/offline 
                             - In this mode we can set our specific sites URL with username and password and firefox 
                               will automatically login to desired site which we select from the list.
                             - This functionality will help a lot to developer as well as frequently users on different
                               applications. 
                             - These can be done same as web Test automation (for ex. Selenium webdriver api).

Hi, I am trying to implement logout functionality for Basic authentication for our internal application with the below script.

This function is working properly when deployed in my local tomcat server, but it is not working after deploying in WebSphere6.1 server..

Since Firefox 18 i think when direct link to video or audio file in supported format is clicked the browser generates html5 page with video/audio tag and tries to play it instead of opening it as configured. Unfortunately the build in player lacks both in features and formats support when compared to some plugins and is not suitable as drop-in replacement for them. Is there a way to disable the new behavior and open links normally?

I know that disabling formats in about:config (media.format.enabled) solves the problem, but it also breaks pages, that intentionally use audio/video tags.

The text formatting toolbar in Yahoo mail has disappeared in Firefox19&20 on OS. Also hyperlinks are not working. All seems to be OK on Windows Firefox as well as in Safari!! I am running Windows7 on Parallels on the same Mac so this is really confusing. Getting tired of going to Safari for e-mail writing. Wife has same set-up and all is well !! I have tried safe mode and have tried resetting .

I have even updated to 20 and the problem persists!  HELP!!

When Access Protection is enabled under the category "Common Standard Protection", Rule: Prevent common programs from running files from the Temp Directory is enabled. the updates fail.

This rule provides some protection against possible malware execution. However when this rule is enabled FireFox updates fail. We have set exclusions for "updater.exe" but the problem seems to be when FF restarts and the update fails. Is there anyway of finding out what is happening at that point?? as in what FF is doing? The old FF closes and it seems to spawn a fresh "firefox.exe". But the OLD version is still current.

I would like to know if this update process can be identified and with the possibility of excluding what is being blocked so keep the extra security that this rule gives.

When the rule is disabled, FF updates without issue.

Hi, I am experiencing an issue with Firefox when in edit mode using the open source VLE moodle. When I try to move items on the page it no longer works. To cut a long sorry story short I finally traced this to a firefox upgrade in mid January. The issue first appeared in firefox around mid January, then Palemoon which I also have installed presumably when the same upgrade worked reached Palemoon. If I try this on another browser such as IE or Chrome there is no problem. Through a bit of investigation and a post on the moodle forum I found that the issue could be fixed by turning off the touchscreen service 'tablet pc input service' in services.

I like Firefox, and the ethos behind and would like to keep using it, but at the same time don’t want to have to go into services and disable my touchscreen every time I want to edit in moodle. Is there anything that I can change in firefox settings to fix this or is it a bug that needs to be fixed?

On an intranet site I want to prevent that Referrer information arrives at external https sites. Before log-in the site should check if this setting is set to false. If not it should give a warning, deny access and give instructions how to change the setting.

When trying to setup sync for Firefox Nightly start menu, metro UI, app the spinner goes indefinitely with the message "Waiting on other device." My other PC simply adds the new PC trying to sync without any problems. It's also not taking my information using the recovery key, the fields just reset after entering everything. (Also, should I even have to setup sync twice for the same installation, once for desktop and once for start menu?)

Is this a know issue? Are there any known fixes?

I belong to a membership site that is coaching me on e-mail marketing. I want to cut and paste different bits of information and ad links etc. to emails that I am sending out through the site. For some reason, Firefox will not allow me to cut and paste when I am in this particular site?? I can cut and paste in Microsoft Word and other programs with no problem. But when I'm on this particular site it's no deal. This is very frustrating. What can I do to resolve the problem.

Was experiencing numerous crashes on existing Firefox (v-18.0). Upgraded to 19.0 and still had same issues. Next performed a clean install altogether to v-19.0. So far that problem seems to have been resolved...however...

Issues now being experienced:

1. - Lost all ability to simply use the click and drag method to insert a 'live' url link and embed it into an email transmission (AOL webmail). When copying and pasting url, only link text is made available and I cannot modify hyperlink to make it behave like an actual link.

I've discovered that the only way I can even hope to retrieve a live link now is to use the "Email Link" add-on and allow it to launch in MS Outlook Express (default -- no option available for AOL), then copy and paste it from that venue into my composed AOL email. Only way to embed as a hyperlink. Once done I have to delete the created MS Outlook Express page, then can send my email transmission via AOL as I've done before. CRAZY!

2. - Also, when clicking and dragging a shortcut for an actual webpage to my desktop for a later quick launch, the shortcut icon is not recognizing it as a Firefox webpage. Rather a generic icon is presented -- and I have to manually go in to firefox.exe to retrieve icon graphic and reset it to that shortcut (if I decide to). And that's for each individual shortcut created...you have to do this separately for all you may have created on your desktop. The shortcut does work as it should, regardless, but I have never had to do this before and there is no "properties" option available to make an overall default change. Yet another CRAZY!

What happened while I wasn't looking?

I am running XP SP3...and have NEVER had these issues until now -- this is ALL new!

Anyone else have any experience with this...or solutions/work-arounds you've discovered?

Please advise me as to what can be done to get back my audio/sounds on my computer. I have no sound at all. I have checked all connections of the sound speakers. They are all okay and connected. Please help me get back this audio/sound on my computer. This all happened this afternoon, 02/22/2013/ I would appreciate some kind of notice via e-mail, as I was required to give it, before I went on this question site. Thank you for your consideration and assistance in getting back my audio/sound on my computer. I have also, closed the computer down and booted it up after a short time off. I was on the computer in a normal way, as I have always done. Then all of a sudden there was no audio or sound on the computer. Thank you very much for your assistance in this matter. Touchpad scroll does not work in drop down menus. When I try, the menu just closes. This feature works perfectly fine in Internet Explorer 9. I have tried several different drivers from Synaptics with no difference.

Every time I open Firefox it verifies that addons are compatible with version 19.0. Earlier versions of FF did this only on the first time after updating.

FF also opens two tabs, one to Mozilla telling me that there is an Android version for portable telephones, the other to my starting site Googles.

If this behaviour has been done on purpose it's regrettable because it will force me to change to an ather browser.
