Firefox 21 + the newest Divx webplayer = not working at all Every Divx video brings up missing plugin and the yellow drop down bar asking to install it. Is there anything that can be done to fix this?

This happens at random times when I have 2 separate windows open. When I'm trying to load a page, the browser either won't load or it's taking too long to respond to the connection. The only way I can resolve is by closing and open FireFox. But then I have to forcefully close the exe file under task manager(in which I don't like to do in most cases.) or restart my PC and it's really becoming annoying.

Any permanent solutions for this? Thanks in advance.

I'm running Windows XP SP 3 Home Edition with a Dell btw,

Currently, Firefox is using ~2GB of memory on my desktop. Every click takes seconds to register. The biggest culprit is Facebook: there's a FB page that is hogging 600MB of memory. I have about 20 tabs open, but NONE of them are on Facebook. How can I convince Firefox to just **GET** **RID** OF THAT DAMN PAGE?!?!!

If I leave myself logged on to Facebook, inevitably after a few days Firefox grows to soak up all available memory. Surely, in this day and age, after a decade of work on a browser, the Firefox team would have figured out how to deliver a snappy, responsive experience?

Hello, I have this problem were whenever I try to type in something into the search or addresys bars, nothing happens. It's like the enter key isn't working. There is not usual picture next to the search bar (the one that shows you what search engine you're using. If it's google it shows a "g" next to the bar). Instead there is just a picture of a blank page as a placeholder. When I try to go in and add a new search engine by managing the search engine list, there is no option to add a new search engine. I have already tried going into the firefox folder on my computer and deleted the formhistory.sqlite file that is the supposed problem. No avail. I have even gone so far to delete and reinstall firefox to my computer. Well, that didn't work either. So I waited until the next update to see if my problem would be fixed THEN. I am currently on firefox 19.0, which is, as of writing, the most current version. I have tried restarting firefox with all addons removed. And for good measure, I deleted anything that ended with ".sqlite" in my firefox folder. I have tried to get the the about:config menu but do not know how considering how my address bar refuses to search. The greatest thing is that my address bar can still remember all the sites I've typed into it before, but for some unknown reason, cannot take me to any of them! I really don't know what to do next. I can only suppose that I could try completely deleting everything firefox has stored on my computer, as I don't know if just uninstalling the program actually did that. Other then my search bar problem, firefox has been acting fairly normally besides a few minor hiccups here and there. I am trying to remember if I downloaded anything before my search bar problems started or not, but it is always a possibility. I did download the firefox beta for windows 8 metro mode but I can't remember if that was before or after firefox started acting up. It's possible considering that softonic thought they were being really nice by including fbdownloader for free with my firefox metro browser. I am now no longer using softonic ever again. But that's all the evidence I can think up right off the tip of my head. Sorry if this was kinda long, and if any of my description isn't clear or make sense please ask and I can try to verify. Also, if I haven't said this already, my search bar is only not working in firefox. Chrome, Internet Explorer, and Safari are all working fine. Just my luck, I guess. If anyone could help me out, I'd be much obliged. Not being able to use the address bar has been really inefficient. Thank you.

When I have been at a site for a while and decide to go back, when I use the drop down box it has filled with the current page location. The longer I am there the more times it repeats its self.

When I start up Firefox on my tablet the field comes up blank. unless I go to another program or run another program if you will and then return to Firefox and hope that it is loaded I may have to do this a few times only once it may crash all together and doesn't register that it's been opened. Is there some kind of virus going on

When trying to play games in IWin the message comes up and says and beeps that the ActiveX controls isn't working on some level. Do I need to worry about this message? If I do, how do I go about fixing this problem. Do I need to upgrade this control?

Ok so lately i've been having lots of issue with YOUTUBE on mozilla 21.

The problems i'm having is that some videos takes forever to just load.. im staring at a blackscreen for 1-2min before it starts.. and after that i wanna change quality to 720p or 1080p and it takes 1 year to change quality.. i dont get it. It wasn't like this before.

Dont give me obvious answers like "clear your cache" "delete cookies" i've tried all this.. I've even reinstalled my windows completly and it didnt even fix it.

All my drivers are up to date.

help pls.

I got following problem even one just encountered before sign in.

1. I want to sign in clicked on I already have an account but did not work and have to click on Signin/Register tab any way my main problems.

2. When I get an e-mail and if there is url link even I click it won't open rather return to same page. To open link I have to right click and chose open in new window.

3. On website, if there is a slide show (ex. such as health/food related with photo and text) which need to click Next to read next details, if I click on next it won't work.

4. Recent experience, on Yahoo web there is an online contact form, I have to choose topic/categories/subcategories. I can enter information in one or two fields but next field do not open even I click on them.

What could be the cause of above problems?

Regret to say if I use MS IE 9 I do not face above problems I have tested my self. From MS IE I have moved to Firefox and want to keep using it.

I just upgraded to Mac OS 10.6 Snow Leopard and downloaded and installed Firefox 18.0.2 Upon browser launch the entire browser appears as a glitch with the frame orientation slanted and browser buttons, bars and icons etc. unreadable.

Im using firefox 20 beta and os x 10.8.2, Ive been on beta channel for a long time but with 20 beta every time I start firefox it says "well this is embrassing..." and tries to restore couple of tabs I visited before..problem just started after first update of beta ,

I tried; reset firefox complete uninstall by deleting profile folder also deleting org.mozilla.firefox.plist file in preferences folder in library

made clean instal but nothing changed. Im sure firefox closes normally as I checked on activity monitor and my homepage is about:newtab. "show tabs from last time" is not selected from preferences.

same problem continues on aurora 21 too, it just started after first update of 20 beta, I used 20 beta without such problem for a week, but since first update of beta its broken even on aurora too.

btw java is disabled and problem occurs when flash is not working..

I tried to disable javascript and it facebook worked. The problem is no button was clickable, I can't post anything, in short, I can't do anything. I have to force close firefox whenever this happens. According to my firefox, I have the latest version. I also tried uninstalling and installing it again, I tried disabling the plugins or run it in safemode but nothing seems to solve it. This problem just happened after I deleted some compressed old files from my C drive.

Started as firefox already running tried every bit of help on the forums as i could try, tried all the about config, the hardware acceleration, the safe mode and it crashes in safe mode to.

Just downloaded and installed the newest version (11.7.700.224) of ADOBE FLASH PLAYER. After installation, I can no longer CLICK some links and Firefox 21.0 LOCKS UP to the point where I have to restart the whole computer. CPU and MEMORY are being eaten alive. I'm so sick of these problems. I'm running Windows XP SP3 and didn't have this problem UNTIL that Flash Player update. Javascript goes absolutely berserk on places like Facebook every couple of minutes! What's going on??? I saved the error message I got when this happens, see below:

When I visit this site:http://www.apolloarchive.com/apollo_gallery.html I can no longer see the image thumbnails when I click on the image IDs. I contacted the site owner, and he said it worked for FF on his computer, but I'm afraid my javascript isn't working here. I did everything, cleared the cookies, ran Safe Mode, checked options- though i may have goofed. And I'm almost sure javascript is enabled here. I have Win XP. I don't want to check another browser; if the problem is here than it needs fixing. I'm waiting more word from the site owner, but I tried everything he suggested. So what do I do? Do I download another Javascript?

The quality of text on websites is quite poor with thin type and fuzzy definition, however pictures are good. The quality is noticeably worse than IE8 on the same computer.

I'll be watching a video and it will be playing properly at regular size, but when I try to watch it in full screen, all I get is a black screen. I can still hear the audio in full screen, but can't see the video.
