Somehow ZoneAlarm has been added to Firefox. I removed ZoneAlarm from control panel and from Mozilla Firefox add-ons but it is still there. It may have been added when I downloaded a program call Living Cookbook.

Button appears in the right lower corner to the left of the scrollbar when scrolling down long-ish webpages. I find it tremendously annoying as it covers the information underneath and when I hit it accidentally it obviously makes the whole webpage jump back to the top. Any idea how I can get rid of it ? please help me to solve following problem.

Some addons (ad-block plus, fastest search, session manager) are not working after starting firefox. In order to make them work I must disable and then re-enable every each of them.

I have to do this everytime i start firefox.

I tried to reinstall these addons, to delete some files from profile folder etc. ending up with complete reinstallation of firefox and the problem is still there. It popped out nowhere, just a few days ago everything was ok...

Please help me as this issue really affects my efficiency and work with firefox in general.

First why does Firefox stop allowing me on the internet--it happens about every 4-6 weeks? Second I have to uninstall and reinstall the most current version to get it working again--why doesn't it update automatically? If I didn't have Internet Explorer I would be screwed because I couldn't even get to the internet to get the new download.

every time I get an e-mail the computer freezes then pings telling me I have an e-mail then continues on with what ever I am doing. I can not find out how to disconnect the e-mail alerts.

Suddenly, in firefox 21, when I am signed into my gmail account, a blue sheen covers the entire - macbook pro running os 10.8.2 - screen. When I sign out of gmail, the blue disappears.

I checked in chrome, to see whether this was a gmail issue, and in chrome it does not happen. It appears to be a firefox browser issue.

I just was able to download Firefox for android ver 21.0, I found the above listed add-on when I attempted to down load I was given an error message stating Xenotix was uncompatable with ver 21.0. who do I turn to to find out if there is a fix or plugin that will resolve the comparability issue?

This has happened 9 times in a row. I also restarted my computer overnight and that did not fix anything. I believe Firefox had updated just before this starting happening yesterday. I just downloaded Firefox on my sons new tablet I felt lucky to find the key logger listed above, when I attempted to download it I was given a incompadibility error message ( incomparable with over 21.0 ) where might I look to find a fix or perhaps a plug in to resolve the problem?

Every time I highlight a word on a web page and then "right click" on it, a context menu opens with a list. The one I care about is the entry: "Search Google for". The only problem is, instead of Google, it states "Search Amazon.com for" to do a search. This is annoying and I have no clue how the change happened. Amazon is not a search engine.

So, how would I go about changing it back to Google?

I can close the box by going to the task bar and clicking on the x of the open box. It started a couple of weeks ago, i haven't installed any new software or downloaded anything new.

This is the second time I'm filling in all of this information, I hope it works this time.

A while back I changed mailto to Firefox in Options>Applications>mailto After that, when I would click on an email address, Firefox would open new tabs VERY quickly and would not stop until I used Task Manager to close Firefox. I then went back and changed mailto back to Always Ask. But the same thing still happens when I click an email address, Firefox opens tabs very rapidly until I close it with task manager. I then checked the settings in about:config "network.protocol-handler.external.mailto" and it is set to default, boolean, true I don't want a default email program to be set, I want it to always ask. Please help with this. Thank you.

Lately, there have been video advertisements on this site that will automatically play with sound that are obnoxious and distracting. I would like to prevent these. The webmaster for the site claims that they do not allow these ads and yet, I get them. He says they cannot replicate the issue and suspect its a problem with my settings. I do not know if the same thing happens with advertisements on other sites or not.

On a related note, is there a way to prevent "roll over" ads from playing?

Due to power cut i wasn't able to shutdown my PC(windows 7). When i started it again i started it in safe mode as the i got the dialogue" Windows did not shutdown properly choose in which mode to start your PC.."

I chose safe mode and then restarted the PC normally. But when i started FF , it behaved as if it was the first time installed and all my settings were gone.

Opened the profile manager and it showed only 1 default profile where as i have 2(default and another profile). This new default profile is completely new.

I found my profile folder. It contains 3 Profiles. My earlier default and another one i had created. And the third profile is the new default one. How do i switch back to the earlier 2
