Hello Firefox, Google comes up as my Home Page, but when I enter, it defaults to www.ask.com. How do I keep it on Google please? Thanks, Sharron

I just installed Firefox's newest version 21. I went to a website which required flash and it said I did not have flash installed. So I installed flash from adobe's website and it said it installed successfully I went back to the website after restarting my browser and it still did not work. I restarted my computer and nothing. I reinstalled flash again and it still does not work even though adobe is telling me it installed successfully.

IDM CC 7.3.20 incompatible with Firefox version 19.0.2 , so Internet download manager stop working with Firefox. Where can I find IDM CC 7.3.38 ? or What should I do?

My firefox is currently in french. i do not know how to change this into english. no matter where i go i can not find a setting for the language to change it to english. can someone please explain to me how to do this

Before I changed internet service providers, I could type my search queries into the url bar and receive search results from Google. After I switched ISPs, my queries typed into the url bar are put into my new ISP's horrible search engine. How do I change it back?

I've already tried going to about:config and changing the value of the keyword.URL preference to "http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=" but that didn't fix my problem.

New information since creation of the post:

My ISP is Optimum. I have opted out of DNS Assistance and still have seen no change.

When my search term is two words or more, I am directed to Google search results. If my search term is only one word, however, I am still directed to Optimum's search results.

I was lissening to online radio. Firefox needed to update. After the latest update the windows media player plugin dissapeared from the add-on list, while still being installed correct. I reinstalled it, but that didn't work. I replaced/deleted some files in firefox as suggested for similiar problems, but that didn't work either. Now I can't play wmp files anymore on firefox.

I hope u can help me solve this problem.

I go to a website that requires a Java plug-in. I downloaded the latest update (21) for Java 7 from Oracle but when I go to Add-Ons>Plugins in Firefox 20 the Java plug-in doesn't appear and when I do a search at the Get Add-ons nothing that mentions the Java Plug-in shows up. Where can I get the plug-in required to use with JRE7u21?

Realplayer download feature (cursor over a youtube video, "download this video" pops up) has recently quit working for me (I've been using it for months). I've searched knowledge bases and forums extensively and tried all the suggestions., such as rolling back from Flash Player 11.5 to 10.3 (no luck), disabling/enabling RealPlayer Download plugin in Firefox (no luck), etc. The one suggestion I'd like to try but can't is going into RealPlayer preferences and enabling/disabling the "Download and Record" function. I can't because all I have in my preferences is "Recording" and the options have nothing to do with downloading. None of the RealNetworks/RealPlayer support sites are helpful at all...

However, the download feature works just fine in Internet Explorer

When I check my plugins, the following three, very closely related (in my mind) plugins are listed, and the "Renderer" still shows "Research" when checking to see if it is Up-To-Date. It seems to me I don't need all three. I tried removing the Renderer (yes, I know how to do that safely), but Google seems to continue to reinstall it (with one or both of the other two...?)...I'll ask this on a Google Forum too, since it's their product, but wondered if anyone has any insight.     I am constantly getting the error, "unresponsive script" on allot of web pages. I tried disabling allot of the addons, but I still get this message:

Firefox also freezes up when I go to a new page, but if I wait a minute, it will come back. Can anyone assist me concerning this problem? Thank You.

I am having trouble getting Java to work in Firefox (Opera too) on Mac. http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp?detect=jre tells me "We are unable to verify if Java is currently installed and enabled in your browser." Notice that when I access the page, Firefox wants me to activate Java in a pop-up. I did this.

I know that Java is installed because I can open the Java Control Panel. The setting "Enable Java content in the browser" is checked and Security Level is set to High. I have tried setting the security level to a lower setting, but that doesn't help.

I have verified that the Java plugin is enabled. I have tried clearing Java cache via the control panel - no luck.

I realise that Apple has blocked Java according to this article: http://appleinsider.com/articles/13/01/31/apple-again-blocks-latest-version-of-java-through-os-x-anti-malware-system. I have been able to get Java to work with Safari (this doesn't help for Firefox) by editing the file /System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources/XProtect.meta.plist, but that is only a temporary solution, as it shouldn't be necessary to do this edit.

If I type a search in the address bar, I am automatically transferred to google. Can this be changed or am I stuck with google? I know I can select one in the upper right. Thank you.

I need to access temorary Intenet files from Firefox like I can using Internet Explorer. When I watch a video online (not streaming), the file is downloaded to my computer and I can usually access this file using IE from Tools < Internet options < Browser history < Settings < View files - to access the folder containing the "Temporary Internet files" and the video. Firefox doesn't appear to have this option.

I had Google as my home page and when I would open a new tab it's blank but when I updated my Divx player it set Bing as my homepage and loaded Bing when I open a new tab. I have Google as my homepage and it comes up when I open a new window but when I open a new tab it still goes to Bing. How do I disable this so a blank page comes up again?

I want English as default language (FireFox for Mac) Preferences / Content / Choose a language It is set to English Yet on Googling it appears to be Polish

How do I change that ?

I try to change the default search engine in the search bar (to Google) by following your instructions, including by deleting all the other available options, but every time I re-open Firefox, all the other search engines have re-appeared and the default engine is Yahoo, not Google.

Since upgrading to firefox 20.0.1 my download helper is not working like it used too.

Before updating to Firefox 20.0.1 I would click on the "Download Helper" icon and choose what format I want to download, then a box would open and show my various downloads in progress. Instead I've noticed that instead of the the normal box opening there is this little arrow in the right-hand corner that I have to click on in order to see what is downloading and when I close the browser the progress box that I used to be able to see is no longer there and also I am now UNABLE to continue downloading like I was able to with downloadhelper!!!

I can't speak for anyone else but I prefer using Downloadhelper as opposed to the so-called downloader that has been built into Firefox 20.0.1.

How do I get the download helper to work like it used to and how do I get rid of that annoying download arrow in the right had corner?!

If the powers that be are going to make improvements concerning security I'm all for it but I want to the option to choose whatever addons I want to use without having them made unusable whenever there is an "upgrade".
