What is; Mozilla Firefoxavg-secure-search.xml
Hello all. I was poking around my hard drive, and I found this file; ""Mozilla Firefoxavg-secure-search.xml"". I thought I had removed AVG from my system. Should I get rid of this too?
Chosen solution
Thank you all. I have deleted the file, and searched the hard drive for other; AVG. I found several other files and directories and also deleted those as well. I still wonder how that file got into the C:\Program Files. I was sure it was not there several days earlier. Oh well. Good night all.

hello, that's likely a search engine provider which is showing up in the search bar. if you don't use/need it, you can remove this xml file...
The reason I am asking was I found it in; C:\Program Files. I read about the problems that many reported with AVG. I also had some problems so I had removed it.
What's the full path to the file? If philipp's theory is correct, you would expect to find it the first of the following folders, or possibly the second:
C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\browser\searchplugins C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\browser\extensions
I found it in; C:\Program Files.
I don't think programs should be placing any files in the root of C:\Program Files\ -- only in their own folders. If the file is there, I suggest deleting it.
