Hi skagitron, this definitely is not a built-in feature.

There might be an add-on that can do this. I haven't searched, but over the years, there have been made add-ons related to bookmarks. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/extensions/bookmarks/

Alternately, if you want a current snapshot of your bookmarks as a web page, you can export them to an HTML file and then open that file in Firefox. The steps are listed in this article: Export Firefox bookmarks to an HTML file to back up or transfer bookmarks.

You can also opt to open the bookmarks sidebar: View > Sidebar > Bookmarks.

Set the about:newtab page to this chrome URL:

  • chrome://browser/content/bookmarks/bookmarksPanel.xul
