ongoing problem with flash player and FF..cannot install adobe Flash 11 with FF 16

Posted

I have tried everything. I cannot install any Adobe flash product I was using Flash 10 and suddenly it stopped working. this happened before..several times in fact. I delete and re install but this tim it still crashed. so I decided to try Flash 11... windows 8 won't even let me run the installer. when I try to install it as a FF plug in it fails. sends me to do it manually. manually means using the installer program which Windows 8 won,t let me run I am stuck. Is there an alternative to adobe flash player? because I am tired of this. if there is no alternative, then I will fins another browser.

I tried right clicking the files and run as an administrator.. when I do that, the pop up window asking if I want to allow this program to make changes ... appears. I click yes..nothing happens... it goes no further I am running Norton. I have that disabled. something will not allow me to install either FF update or flash Player (any version).

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

Ok, it sounds like you've got some major issues with your computer. Please either re-install Windows, or take it to a reputable local business.
