why using a 'fox' icon
Fire fox, which is also called red panda, belongs to Arctoidea. (http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firefox/firefox-name-faq.html) Mascot on this page: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/ is a fire fox. But the one used in your icon is apparently not.
