From time to time (I've been unable to determine a common cause) when I open my Aurora on Windows 7 64bits (and Firefox, and the Firefox on the Windows XP of my mother), all the tab from the previous session appears normally at first (right title and favicon) but when I go to one of them, it becomes a "New Tab" with a blank page. Note that my New Tab is configured to give me fast links and when I open a real New Tab with the browser in this state, I indeed get my fast links, but I'm unable to load any site (even when typing an URL in the address bar, or using the search bar) though the about:... pages are available. I repeat that there's no error message, just this title "New Tab" and a blank page, whatever I do.
This is _not_ a connection problem, I don't even use a proxy and other browsers work fine (I'm typing this in an old Chrome) as well as online games.
I tried restarting in Safe mode but that doesn't change anything (same symptoms), the only solution I found was to restart the computer... (really annoying)

cor-el 3 months ago In case you are using "Clear history when Firefox closes":
- do not clear the "Browsing History"
- Tools > Options > Privacy: History: [X] Clear history when Firefox closes > Settings

Jedai 3 months ago Thank you but I do not clear the history. This problem is not systematic, I often open Aurora and get my last session without problem.
Besides I don't think the problem is with the session data since I can't open any new site either. Basically, it seems the problem could manifest itself even if I didn't restart with the tabs from the last session.

cor-el 3 months ago Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Creating a profile":
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

xael-fry 3 months ago Still have the problem with a new profile! Do you have any idea about what is going wrong or other tips to try?

xael-fry 3 months ago Yes I working again, I made a clean reinstall (removing the installation directory before reinstalling Aurora). And start / stop aurora without any problems.
